Ladies’ Code: RiSe out of surgery as funeral details for EunB revealed

Ladies’ Code singer RiSe is out of surgery but ‘under careful observation’ after sustaining serious injuries in the car accident that killed bandmate EunB.

The K-pop star had emergency brain surgery following the crash in the early hours of this morning, with reports in South Korea saying the operation lasted over nine hours.

The group’s record label has now confirmed that RiSe is out of surgery, while the surviving members of the group are also being treated in hospital.

Sojung was operated on for a bone fracture, while Ashley and Zuny are being treated for shock.

Polaris Entertainment said in a statement: ‘RiSe’s long operation has ended and she’s currently under careful observation. The other members are currently hospitalised in Seoul. Sojung underwent an operation for her bone fracture.

‘Ashley and Zuny did not sustain major injuries, but because of the shock and trauma from the accident they are currently undergoing several examinations and treatment.’

The label also confirmed details of EunB’s funeral, adding: ‘EunB’s remains are attended to at Korea University Anam Hospital. Her funeral will be held on the 5th.’

Seventeen held their fourth concert 'Like Seventeen 4' at Seoul's Ilchi Art Hall on August 16. The Seventeen members have been meeting fans through their reality show from season 1 in 2012 until season 5, 'Last Seventeen TV', this past July. The current member line-up consists of 14 members: (from oldest to youngest) Seungcheol (19), Junghan (19), Jisoo (19), Junhui (18), Wonwoo (18), Soonyoung (18), Jihoon (18), Seokmin (17), Mingyu (17), Minghao (17), Seungkwan (16), Hansol (16), Lee Chan (15), Dongjin (14).

HONG KONG – A trio of Asian companies has launched a film and TV production investment fund and committed to working together to break in to the China market.

Hong Kong’s Media Asia, South Korean music and talent management giant SM Entertainment and Taiwan cable TV network operator Kbro signed the deal Wednesday in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing.

In the wake of the tragic passing of Ladies’ Code member EunB in a recent car accident that has shocked the entire industry, it has been made known that fans and non-fans alike have come together to make EunB’s lifetime wish come true.

On September 3, a message started by Ladies’ Code fans began to spread throughout online communities as well as various SNS. These fans wrote, “EunB’s lifelong wish was to reach first place on music charts. Please listen to ‘I’m Fine Thank You’ as we hope that it reaches the heavens.”

After hearing about this, fans of other idol groups also joined and shared, “Let’s stop streaming our singers and make it [‘I’m Fine Thank You’] reach first place.” As a result, “I’m Fine Thank You” was able to take charge of number one on Melon’s real-time chart.T he song is especially meaningful as the lyrics express: “Today I cry, I wish you happiness forever, good bye” and “It’s okay to think of me once in a while and smile.”
