my favourite part of this video is the revelation that the point move was supposed to be fingers like a gun but they had to change it to the devil fingers because shuhua physically can't make the gun sign lmao

in this video:
- minnie likes her set but says she wouldn't want to live in a room so pink, soyeon compares hers to a graffiti'd toilet (lol)
- minnie tried to learn the guitar but gave up because it was hard
- The Saga Of Yuqi's Too-Cute Nails
- soyeon thinks the killing part is shuhua's 'la la lala' bridge
- yuqi shows off her double jointed/overflexed fingers
- shuhua is a pro photographer and yuqi is jealous
- minnie and miyeon get a quickfire chinese lesson from yuqi and shuhua

Unnie. GZB. Cherry. Those who follow musician CL will know that these are just a few signature words to describe the K-pop veteran. And those who grew up with her music, like myself, will know just how much of a trailblazer the former 2NE1 leader has been in the Korean music scene.

As a high schooler in the 2010s, I would fill my iPod Touch playlist with almost all of 2NE1’s releases. Amid a K-pop world where women were – and still are, for the most part – portrayed by the male gaze, it was refreshing to see an all-girl group championing female power with tracks like “FIRE” and “I AM THE BEST.” Fast forward to 2013, the group’s leader CL, whose real name is Lee Chae-rin, went solo with her debut single “The Baddest Female,” a key part of her identity to this day.

The past couple of years have marked a new era in CL’s artistry. In late 2019, she released some of her first singles as an independent artist since leaving her previous label YG Entertainment. She shortly followed up with hits like “+HWA+,”“+5 STAR+” and “SPICY.” And after some minor delays, last August, CL gifted fans with her first physical solo album, ALPHA.

at the end of the day, i think the most important thing is to listen to your gut )

  • The Korean hip-hop artist who shot to fame in B.A.P talks about his second album and how it’s less dark than his self-named first album

  • He spent time finding the right songs and styles and is pleased with how the album has turned out. ‘I feel the biggest happiness when I make music,’ Bang says

“I’m very happy these days,” Bang Yongguk says.

a big lesson I would have to say I learned throughout my career is that you have to be genuine and honest )

Among the biggest names in art across Asia, only a handful are artists; the rest are often collectors, many from positions of wealth and power — people who fill their spaces with the priciest, the rarest, the most hyped of pieces.

Choi Seung Hyun is one of the unique few who occupy the role of both artist and collector. But his medium is neither paint nor marble — Choi makes music. (He also acts.) You might know him better as T.O.P, member of the original Korean music phenom, BIGBANG.

Considered one of the biggest young collectors of contemporary art in the region, his star has risen considerably in the business during the past decade. He was invited to lend pieces to Seoul’s Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, and he also guest-curated an exhibition for Singapore’s ArtScience Museum. In Hong Kong, he co-curated an auction of Asian and Western art for Sotheby’s that raised millions, with part of the proceeds going to support emerging Asian artists.

He publicly admits what we assumed in 2017. I felt it was pretty obvious what was happening and felt like this was a safe space to share feelings, but no. Some people were gross in those posts, even dm-ing me to mock my pain as he laid unconscious for three days. Some people were nice, though. Anyways. I'm proud of him for speaking on it, growing from it, and even wanting to put himself publicly out there again.

Momoka and Miku discuss their experiences as Japanese idols living in Korea.
Momoka is 21 (intl age) and has been in Korea since at least 2019, working as a backup dancer while trianing.
Miku is 19 (intl age) and was signed via a video audition.
The two previously attended the same dance academy in Japan, so they were friends before they became trainees. They both joined PinkFantasy in 2021 as guest members.

- Momoka got into kpop via a 2ne1 concert in Japan. When they were promoting 'Poison', their promotions overlapped with Minzy promoting 'Teamo', and Momoka almost cried when she met Minzy. Miku is also clearly very happy about this.
- Similarly, Miku's mum took her to a Bigbang concert that piqued her interest.
- Momoka had been to Korea before coming as a trainee. Miku hadn't and was so scared because she didn't know Korean that Momoka says she came out of the airport crying. She was particularly distressed because she'd left her second phone that had translation features on the plane and the staff at the airport had only spoken Korean and English, so getting through immigration had been very stressful for her. The two girls can laugh about it now though.
- Momoka says the highlights of living in Korea are the amount of free side dishes she gets and how awesome delivery services are.
- They both miss taking baths! They only have a shower in the dorm.

The K-pop world is not all glitter and shine.

Aspiring singers often have to undergo years of ruthless vocal and dancing training at the expense of school life, going head-to-head with one another to make their debuts. But debuting is not the end, as, even after becoming singers, they must compete more fiercely with other gifted singers, if they do not want to fall off people's radars.

Life as a K-pop star can be more demanding if you face a language barrier as a foreigner. Nevertheless, there are a plethora of passionate and pioneering K-pop singers from abroad, including SORN from Thailand, who have chosen to take a crack at it and forge their own paths.

"Being a foreigner in K-pop is not as easy as it seems," SORN, a former member of K-pop girl group CLC, said in a recent interview with The Korea Times. "Although Korean is not my first language, I still had to sing and communicate in Korean and live away from my family from a young age. And K-pop is so intense as well. When I was part of CLC, I constantly had to think about what I could do to stand out and to take our team to the next level."

The iconic K-pop vocalist also discusses how she challenged herself on ‘INVU’, and shares her hopes for SM Entertainment labelmates aespa.

Deep within Girls’ Generation leader and K-pop veteran Taeyeon’s third full-length album ‘INVU’, the vocal powerhouse finds herself plunging into a harrowing, brutally honest world of raw, turbulent emotions, leaving no room for hesitation or shame. From desperation and envy to obsession and longing, she dives into the ugliest, most vulnerable depths of the emotional spectrum on the 13-track record, making it one of the most genuinely, and well, painfully human of her career thus far.
