As a Star1, this was such a bittersweet moment. I'm happy sistar won but at the same time, the pain and sadness I feel is still strong so I can't completely celebrate this win. Sistar feels the same way as well.
Watched a few performances and the mood was really weird and sad.. The black ribbons that some groups had on their clothes were so cute. And boras speech was heartbreaking, you can tell that she had to hold back her tears
Thanks for mentioning the ribbons because I would not have known about them otherwise. I felt really weird just making this post, but I think I'll go back and watch some performances now. I'm glad some groups decided to show their condolences to Ladies' Code. It's a really nice gesture.
i think they just recently ended their promotions. they posted a video on their yt page saying their thanks and that they are suppose to comeback soon with a new album, which makes me feel even sadder for them
Oh okay, in the most recent posts I didn't notice the "goodbye stage" thing so I just assumed. I figured them releasing a single would mean an album as a follow-up...ugh...
i was looking through their videos last night just to watch them and i came up on it. i was really loving kiss kiss just as much as i loved pretty pretty and i want to hope we will get to hear the things that they did record but if they decide not to, i would completely understand
ugh, this is all so somber and bittersweet. I never wanted LC to get a number one for this way but I'm so touched that people made EunB's dream come true
The blonde one I'm a little unsure about, but the cat-ears belong to a girl in Laboum. =\ I get that they just debuted but it doesn't seem like quite the right attitude to be taking...
Edit: The blonde is actually Gilme (who I didn't recognize at first).
I just rewatched it and is the brunette jumping one a member of A.Kor? Ugh I really wanted to like and defend them after the Bom mess and it's possible that the groups behind didn't realise what was going on but it's still nagl given the whole atmosphere. And yeah I figured cat ears was in Laboum, she was the most distracting :\
I'm wondering how much being rookies has to do with it- I know lots of them don't get access to cellphones, so maybe they just... didn't know?... I think the mood overall would have been quite somber though, not too sure how that could have been missed.
Reading all these tweets from various Kpop artists talking about how it feels like a personal matter (since a lot of them have dealt with car accidents in the past)... it just really irks me to see both a senior (Gilme, who should absolutely know) and juniors (A.Kor, Laboum) seem to not care. Even with all the competition that goes into the industry, at the end of the day they're still colleagues, fellow Koreans, and fellow humans. =\ Some sympathy and/or understanding, regardless of your closeness to the matter, should not be a lot to ask.
Kangin talked about the accident at the start of the show so they had to know :\ I know we can't dictate how people mourn/forcing them to feel sad but it does seem disrespectful to behave like that when literally everyone else on stage was subdued.
I don't know what to say. It's just a terrible situation. Every time I feel like I'm starting to be okay about it, some new bit of news comes out - I'm Fine Thank You at number one, and now EunB's mom. Did you see the message, by chance?
UPDATE: 15:21 KST - EunB's mother: "Rise will be fine. Do not worry about it. EunB will protect Rise." "She left to follow her dreams," "Sojung seems ok. Rise's mother is looking after Rise right now."
Definitely not the correct thread for this, but I wanted to say that EunB's mom is being incredibly strong and graceful right now and that I'm so proud of her and ;~; all the feels.
It's really confusing to me to think that they couldn't have known what was going on. I mean, internationally we even know what happened, and we are just spectators. It's really hard for me to think that they could be clueless to the situation. Even if LC are still considered rookies, they deserve at least a little bit of respect like somebody else mentioned, this tragedy could have just as easily happened to any one of the groups on that stage. It just makes me look at the people playing around in the background a little differently, you know?
Yeah I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt (especially since nugus get ripped apart for their stage antics when bigger groups are called cute coughbeastcough) that they didn't hear what Bora was saying but I wouldn't be jumping around knowing a colleague just passed away.
Okay so I watched every performance and I did not see anyone acting sombre or black ribbons, or am I just blind? Even though Bora did a touching speech there was quite a few people behind her that just didn't give a f**k. Smiling and joking like this entire event didn't happen. Does none of those idols realize that could of been them? They could of been traveling a fan in bad weather and have it mafunction and not be standing there. I don't understand why music shows weren't cancelled especially since this was an Enertainment event and held just the same as many other death events where they had cancelled the shows
I didnt see any black ribbons either. There was a lot of black clothing but thats all I could see. and I agree it's so strange to have the shows still going on. I get that it's business but it feels wrong.
yeah i think it's really weird too. i'm not saying it had to be sobfest but i think a better tribute would have been in order. i get that LC hadn't made a huge impact on the industry yet but damn. i'm sure their colleagues at least knew their name.
