Hey party people, happy Friday! Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s check out what we were listening to in the 4th week of February, 2015.
#3 Zion.T & Crush “Just”
2015 was a very busy year for the both of them. Along with his own song releases, Zion.T would feature on a handful of others’ songs as well. He would also become a judge for the 5th series of Show Me The Money, and join in the last Infinite Challenge music festival. Crush would be busy with this own songs, and other features too. He would also have his first solo concert this year. “Just” would debut in the top spot, and would win the MAMA for best collaboration for this song too. Like, I like this song because I think it’s pretty and they sound real good…but the lyrics give me “text messages from your ex at 3am when he wants you to notice him” lol.

Hey party people. Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s go back and see what we were listening to in the 1st week in December, 2015.
#3 iKON “Apology”
This was one of the seven songs that the group would officially debut with, and their second single to take the top spot on the charts. It’s still one of their bigger selling songs. I don’t really remember this song, but then again I think I only kind of remember two of their debut songs. Their debut album, “Welcome Back”, was divided into two parts, in between Japanese promotions, with singles released every month. The group would start their 2021 having fun with Kingdom (no, seriously they always looked like they just wanted to have fun on that show lol), and finished it off being uncles thanks to Bobby.

What’s up party people? Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 3rd week in July, 2016. Both of the honorable mentions today have nods to a certain Wes Anderson movie. Can you tell which one?
#3 EXO “Monster”
This is one of the singles from the group’s “Ex’Act” album, released simultaneously in both Korean and Mandarin. The song would be the group’s first number one on Billboard’s World Charts. Domestically, it would also peak at top spot, and the song would get nine music show wins, the most wins for a boy group in 2016. I’ve never seen the MV before, but I do know I’ve heard the song. This is where the “thats right my type” tag comes from, right? I never realized it was this song lol!

This was one of their singles on their Japanese debut album from 2019. 2 years ago, they put out a short version of this MV. I guess this is the full MV, released last week.

Happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 2nd week of May, 2015. All of the songs have been posted before, so this time we will check out some live stages.
#3 Park Jin Young featuring Jessi “Who’s Your Mama?”
This was a big hit for him, peaking at #1. I remember being super annoyed because he released the song less than two weeks after Miss A’s comeback (after 2 years!), and this song kicked them off the top spot. Like, he could have waited a bit and let them have some time to shine but no. Anyways. I have yet to hear this song or see a live stage completely through lol. He made his comeback on the finale of K-Pop Star 4, where he was the judge.

i read this article earlier and thought it was pretty interesting. (sorry mods, wasn't 100% sure how to tag this?)
- A Korean music and culture expert believes female fans are integral to the success of K-pop girl groups, and that this fact is being generally overlooked
- The female audience is involved more actively in a variety of fan activities than their male counterparts, and at a much deeper level
