Ladies’ Code: RiSe out of surgery as funeral details for EunB revealed

Ladies’ Code singer RiSe is out of surgery but ‘under careful observation’ after sustaining serious injuries in the car accident that killed bandmate EunB.

The K-pop star had emergency brain surgery following the crash in the early hours of this morning, with reports in South Korea saying the operation lasted over nine hours.

The group’s record label has now confirmed that RiSe is out of surgery, while the surviving members of the group are also being treated in hospital.

Sojung was operated on for a bone fracture, while Ashley and Zuny are being treated for shock.

Polaris Entertainment said in a statement: ‘RiSe’s long operation has ended and she’s currently under careful observation. The other members are currently hospitalised in Seoul. Sojung underwent an operation for her bone fracture.

‘Ashley and Zuny did not sustain major injuries, but because of the shock and trauma from the accident they are currently undergoing several examinations and treatment.’

The label also confirmed details of EunB’s funeral, adding: ‘EunB’s remains are attended to at Korea University Anam Hospital. Her funeral will be held on the 5th.’

This is all so sad. I'm Fine has been on loop for hours, It's such a meaningful song and their voices are so beautiful and it's unfortunate that a tragic event brought them to my attention. I hope Rise pulls through, and that Sojung will heal completely and would continue to live a full life, if reports of her disfigurement are true. RIP Eunb. You made the world more beautiful, thank you.

i just cant stop thinking about them. especially now after reading how bad their injuries are, it makes you realize that your whole life can change within a few seconds. i still hope that this is just a bad dream but... sigh. i dont want to listen to happy songs, it just feels so wrong. my friend and i talked about this today and we both just cant believe this, its so surreal.

i think you can compare RiSe's injuries and situation to michael schumacher (german F1 driver). for those of you who dont know him: In December 2013, Schumacher suffered a serious head injury while skiing. He was airlifted to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma, having suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was in the coma from 29 December 2013 until 16 June 2014. He has left the hospital in Grenoble for further rehabilitation at the University Hospital (CHUV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. (from wiki)

EunB was moved to Sungbin Medical Center right after the the accident. However, she was already in cardiac arrest with open skull fracture. They didn't even try CPR. They declared her DOA.

RiSe received CPR upon arrival at the medical center and also received CPR during the surgery (this is really serious). They are assessing that even if she survives she may remain in a vegetable state.

The other girl (probably Sojung) came to Ahju Medical Center but was sent to another hospital. They said her face was just totally injured. She probably won't be able to go back being a entertainer.

The below is the actual emergency rescue (the Fire engine) report which shows seven people in the accident.

You will notice #1 and #2 are indicated as 미상 (unknown). This means their injuries were so severe they couldn't tell who they were. Those are RiSe and EnuB.

Under the column 비고, it shows that both received CPR at the site or even during the route to hospital.

At the scene were total 32 emergency crew with 11 vehicles.

They received the call at 1:21 AM and arrived at the scene at 1:39. (I think that was a pretty good response time.)

It also indicates in the report that the van was trying to avoid another car that was in the front of them which went into a skid in the rain. (Now, that may or may not be true due to this being just he said she said at the accident site.)

This was a major accident.

"The surgeon who participated in the RiSe's operation is one of the best in Korea (actually he is the best). He is a trauma surgeon by trade. He was the motif for one of the drama made in Korea named "The Golden Hour". And he is the one who operated on the captain of the ship that got rescued by the Korean special operations team with the Korean Navy near Somalia when the Somali pirates kidnapped the ship. The captain was shot by the Somali pirates then (AK47 7.62mm rounds). There are news articles written about him."

i can't stop thinking about this, it seems so surreal.

and to make things more insane, yesterday at night there was a huge storm with really strong winds in my city, ending energy of some places, ripping ceilings and trees, and while it happened i was in a car with my brother going home, and as we drove i couldn't stop thinking of LC and pray it wouldn't happen to me and i couldn't help but feel that i was being so selfish because i made it all about me.

i dont even kno how to feel anymore i couldnt even sleep last night all i could think about was this horrible accident. there is massive weight in my chest that makes me feel like it's so hard to breathe. i keep wondering about who saw them last and how they're feeling now and praying that they'll find peace no matter what the outcome.

Rise should have reportedly been moved to Korea University hospital as a matter of urgency, but because of the 11+ hour surgeries and serious bleeding cause by the swelling it is now very unlikely they will move her, as she is far from being stable. It further says that her state is "deplorable" and much "worse than expected".

08:07 KST - Police investigations have revealed the the airbags in the van did not deploy on impact. T/N: If the airbags deployed properly, it is highly likely EunB would NOT have been ejected from the van.

This makes me so sad, they had such a bright future and now it is taken away, it sounds very much like Rise will end up with an ABI, if not from the actual accident but from the oxygen deprivation, and they are very hard to come back from fully.

At this point in time my only wish is that my lovely Ladies be allowed time to fully heal as much as possible without pressure from fans, to decide what the remaining healthy members wish to do.

Whatever they decide, they will always have my love.

They're all a wonderful group of girls and I always loved their spark onstage. Everything about this is so horrific, and they're all in my thoughts.
