On April 9, actor Joo Won, who is currently serving in the military as an instructor of Baekgol training camp, shared stories about life in the military.

Through Republic of Korea Army: ROK Army’s Facebook account, Joo Won appeared in a live broadcast as a representative of training camp instructors. In the broadcast, Joo Won explained about the first 5-week basic training procedure in military in details.

I wonder how often they do these shows online, it must be nice for their families to see how they're doing. And seeing some of the pics from his graduation, Jiyong also looks healthier now than he did in the past year and a half. I'm so glad it looks like he put some weight back on.

If you've visited your favorite streaming or downloading site in the last few days, you might have seen the confusing new drama episode numbering system. Broadcasters are now splitting episodes into two 30-35 minute halves with a lengthy commercial break in between them. New MBC and SBS dramas Ruler: Master of the Mask and Suspicious Partner are the first to be affected by this. It appears that the subbing sites/MyDramaList/AsianWiki etc are treating them as two separate mini episodes, so technically we'll now be getting 4 episodes a week.

Happy weekend Omona! Next week marks the premiere of two new dramas I'm personally looking forward to. Ruler: Master of the Mask and Suspicious Partner both premiere on Wednesday, May 10, following the finales of Raidant Office and Saimdang this week. Two episode mini drama Individualist Ms Ji Young airs May 8 and 9 following the completion of Perfect Wife. Next weekend, Bad Thief, Good Thief takes over for the weekend drama slot from Father, I'll Take Care of You. More pre-emptions for Chicago Typewriter (and Tunnel, as a reminder) this weekend due to a holiday weekend.

Actor Joo Won is next in the line of celebs taking off to the military this year. According to Joo Won’s agency, Huayi Brothers, the actor received his draft notice yesterday; his date has been set for May 16.

During a V Live broadcast, Joo Won said, “I will serve diligently and to the best of my ability.” Upon enlisting, Joo Won will undergo five weeks of training, after which he will serve for 21 months. His last project before service is SBS’s pre-produced drama “My Sassy Girl,” co-starring Oh Yeon Seo, which will air in June after Joo Won enlists.

It looks like Joo Won has decided on his last drama prior to his military enlistment.

A representative from his agency Sim Entertainment spoke with news outlet Ilgan Sports on March 29 and said, “Joo Won will be appearing in ‘My Sassy Girl’ (tentative title). Our company and Raemongraein will be co-producing. However, nothing else has been decided yet.”

The drama will be based on the popular film of the same name featuring Cha Tae Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun. However, it appears as though the characters will be different from the original characters in the film.

Also, the drama will be 100 percent pre-produced and is aiming to broadcast in Korea, China, and Japan at the same time.

Actor Kang Ha Neul recently sat down for an interview during the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Having appeared in movies “C’est Si Bon,” “Empire of Lust,” and “Twenty” this year, the rising star has been making a name for himself. Since “Twenty” received a formal invitation to BIFF, the actor answered questions relating to his film with Kim Woo Bin and 2PM’s Junho.

Upon being asked about what he was like when he was twenty, the actor answers, “When I think about when I was 20, the musical “Spring Awakening” comes to mind. That was my everything when I was 20. At the time I practiced for four months and performed for six months. We were the original cast and performed a total of 266 performances.”
