lol @them using the exact same kitchen set as Eddy Kim's "Darling" mv, but both are really cute so it fits I suppose. I feel like the song didn't need rapping in it tbh but I guess Zico has some star power

I still have a hard time reconciling the new and old Borams since she lost so much weight, but good for her I guess?

MINO'S SOLO MV, BE STILL MY HEART!!!!!!
I think we should take this with a grain of salt bc YG's plans are..yeah. Releasing 3 MVs on the same day tho..
And they'll start promoting on music shows the third week of August, which probably means Inki on the 17th will be their debut stage.

BigHit how about you manage your staff better instead of rushing into these things. Idk why they couldn't wait another 6 months - a year to hold a concert at a larger venue which is something they're very much capable of. Are they striving to be the next TS/B.A.P ◔_◔

[OSEN=손남원 기자] YG Entertainment’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk has openly answered questions about YG’s new boy group WINNER, before the upcoming official debut of the group.

WINNER is YG’s first boy group produced by YG after BIGBANG, so they have been under the spotlight of the media and music fans. Even though they are a new group who has not even debuted yet, WINNER already has high popularity and recognition like top stars. That is because the team has already gained stardom even bigger than that of top singers, by appearing in last year’s survival audition show that displayed the competition between Team A and Team B, to gain the opportunity to be selected as YG’s next boy group. Yang Hyun Suk has dedicated himself to creation of WINNER alone for the past five years. Plus, his unique marketing methodology has created sensation for the period. That is why fans’ expectations for WINNER’s debut is further heightening.
In the launching show and press conference for WINNER’s debut album “2014 S/S”, which was held in the afternoon on the 6 this month at Conrad Hotel located in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Yang said, “Precisely speaking, WINNER is the first boy group that YG produces nine years after BIGBANG. As WINNER members are rather taller than other YG singers, we set the concept to present them as fashion models, for this launching show”.

Trigger warning: bullshit )
I didn't expect anything less from YG. I just hope we don't get a From YG bc I can't do this again.

Revealing some unknown information, Yang Hyun Suk talked a bit about Big Bang′s G-Dragon.

On August 6, the YG rookie group Winner held its debut album launching show 2014 S/S Grand Launch and press conference at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeouido.

On this day, Yang Hyun Suk said, "I think when people age, their thoughts also change. I used to have this fixed thought that artists in their 20s and 30s should only do music. I think I was influenced by this when I was active in Seo Taiji and Kids."

Wonder Girls’ Ye Eun, who returned as soloist Ha:tfelt, revealed that she has not been talking to Park Jin Young lately.

Ha:tfelt Ye Eun guested on August 7’s broadcast of SBS Power FM’s Cultwo Show and revealed that she has stopped talking to producer Park Jin Young after having an argument.

Ye Eun said, “I prepared a lot for my first solo album. I fought Park Jin Young so many times. I did win the argument in the end but he won’t talk to me these days,” bringing out a round of laughter.

Ye Eun shared, “He told me to take out a couple of songs saying that they are too heavy but I handwrote a 11-page letter explaining to him why I wrote the songs and how I felt when I wrote them.”

Upon hearing this, DJ Cultwo commented, “That’s closer to being a thesis paper, not a letter.”

Where are my girls at?
Okay stop, I’ll tell ya’ ‘bout it

It’s been way too long, since I’ve been
out for a night, with my girlfriends
Been a hard day’s work, so let's go
We’re gonna celebrate tonight (oh hey hey)

Got ma’ outfit tight, I’m looking right
Diamonds on deck and my shoes fly
It feel so good and I’m feelin’ like
Raisin’ my glass tonight

Driving in a car
With the windows rolled down, just ridin' with my crew
Gonna take it slow
Turn it up all night, no, we don’t need us no dudes

I go out all night cause I like it a lot (I did it)
And I spend my day doing just what I want (I did it)
Always get my way cause I like it a lot
Choose how I live my life if you like it or not (I did it)

I did it, yes I did it, I set myself free (oh baby)
I did it, yes I did it, I did it for me (no no)
I don’t care what you want me to be (oh baby)
I did it, yes I did it, I did it for me

Every woman around the world hear me
Throw your hands in the air if you feel me
Stand tall, we are strong so let's go
Show them our best tonight

Driving in a car
With the windows rolled down just riding with my crew
Gonna take it slow
Turn it up all night, no, we don’t need us no dudes

I go out all night cause I like it a lot (I did it)
And I spend my day doing just what I want (I did it)
Always get my way cause I like it a lot
Choose how I live my life if you like or not (I did it)

I did it, yes I did it, I set myself free (oh baby)
I did it, yes I did it, I did it for me (no no)
I don’t care what you want me to be (oh baby)
I did it, yes I did it, I did it for me

Spica Spica, we blowin’ up ya speaker
We run the town like the boys need to wake up
You watch my legs, you watch my rear
What ya looking at? My eyes are up here

Oh baby, oh baby
Take it down to the floor baby, floor baby
Won’t you tell me what you want baby, want baby
Maybe later we can go (maybe later we can)

I go out all night cause I like it a lot (I did it)
And i spend my day doing just what I want (I did it)
Always get my way cause I like it a lot
Choose how I live my life if you like it or not (I did it)

Exclusive Video Premiere: K-Pop Group SPICA Make Their English Debut With "I Did It" Single

The girl group kick off their new album with their funky, feel-good song.

The Billboard Hot 100's top 10 boasts funky, feel-good tunes like Ariana Grande's "Problem," Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" and Jessie J's "Bang Bang" and now SPICA offer competition with their own brassy, sassy tune and first English single, "I Did It."

The feel-good track is the first release from the K-pop girl group's forthcoming English album. Billboard is premiering the single and its accompanying music video.

For their introduction to the U.S., SPICA enlisted producers Oliver "Oligee" Goldstein, Cory Enemy and Daniel Merlot, who have worked with Britney Spears, Shakira and Ellie Goulding. The empowering anthem is set to be featured on a yet-to-be titled full-length English LP, which the group is currently recording. (WHAT?????????????????)

"We're looking forward to having a good time with our American fans," member Boa (who had worked as a vocal coach with K-pop favorites INFINITE and Kara) said in a statement. "We hope that everyone enjoys our new English single and album. All the girls had a lot of fun recording the song and making the video."

Already an established act in Korea, SPICA scored their first top 10 hit on the K-Pop Hot 100 last year with their top 40 dance-rap track "Tonight." And the quintet earned praise with their 2012 debut: One of their earliest singles, R&B jam "Painkiller," was one of Billboard's Top 20 K-Pop Songs of 2012.

SPICA begin their American promotions in Los Angeles this week, including a performance at KCON 2014 this weekend among fellow K-pop superstars Girls' Generation, G-Dragon and more.

"We hope everyone dances along with us when we perform it at KCON this week!" Boa added. With the brassy beat and a video that showcases the girls' personalities like the best Spice Girls or Destiny's Child visuals did, it shouldn't be a problem.

FYI this is the video production company behind the MV: Goldsuitcase (NSFW?) their aesthetic is just... hmm

Practically an unknown quantity at the start of the decade, K-pop is now a household name around the globe. In recent years, the Western media has all but overflowed with a rising tide of South Korean pop, from fashion spreads to viral ads, Lorde pull-quotes to Grimes tweets, music video analyses to industry think pieces (and, of course, the most popular piece of content on the internet). And yet, so little of this attention has paid much mind to the music itself. If K-pop seems like the fad that never ends, that’s probably because it never really started, either.

K-pop treats a song as just one of several interlocking aesthetic parts, which typically include corresponding choreography, a music video, novella-thick liner notes, the occasional corporate tie-in, and an overarching “concept” that brings it all together. These tend to be conceived in tandem to a much greater extent than in Western pop, so to divorce a K-pop single from its context is to engage with it only partially. For example, the absurdist satire of “Gangnam Style” wouldn’t make total sense even to someone living in Gangnam without its attendant video and “horse dance.”

At its best, K-pop’s package-product approach can result in concise, nonpareil pop music gesamtkunstwerks—but good or bad, they can cause sensory overload for the uninitiated. The intense rate of productivity in Korea, where taking even a year’s pause between albums can kill a career, also adds to the overwhelming feeling for casual fans and popstars alike; onstage fainting and use of IV drips for energy are commonplace.

Another factor is the highly micromanaged way in which all these complementary pieces are made and aligned. The Western media loves to fixate on K-pop’s “assembly line” methodology, and the industry’s de rigeur trainee development program indeed prizes performative excellence over any kind of creative aptitude. Considering the cost-intensive multimedia project that is the typical K-pop smash, it’s little surprise that agencies tailor these acts and their images to best court audiences that are most likely to reward their investment: obsessive teenyboppers. As such, both the presentation of the music and the “impersonal” way it’s made fundamentally disagree with most Western music fans’ Beatles-derived notions of authenticity. (The language barrier can be a roadblock as well.)

But the Korean music industry—for all its bright color schemes, plastic sheen, and frankly commercial raison d'être—has quietly produced some of the most intelligent, adventurous, and accomplished mainstream pop of the past few years. It’s a world where songs with whiplash tempo cuts, Punjabi-via-Korean lyrics, and irregular beats exist as hyper-realized pop commodities, but connect with audiences on a mass scale. The following list offers a modest introduction to the hugely saleable genius some of the world’s best songwriters, producers, and performers can achieve when working in close cooperation.

LIST OF THE 20 SONGS HERE UNDER THE CUT. You'd be surprised!
