Yooara and Yoonjo leave hellovenus

It has been revealed that members Yoo Ara and Yoonjo will be leaving girl group Hello Venus.
Their agency Tricell Media announced through the group’s official fan cafe on July 31, “It has been decided that the Hello Venus project, which has been a cooperative effort by a merger of Fantagio and Pledis, will come to an end in order to secure the development of both parties.”
Members Yoo Ara and Yoonjo will leave the group and join Pledis, whereas Alice, Nara, Lime, and Yooyoung will continue their activities as a group under Fantagio.
According to the announcement, Yoo Ara and Yoonjo can be expected to pursue careers in acting and continue their music career through special projects. The four remaining group members will release a new album and venture into acting as well.
The reps concluded by offering their apologies and thanking the fans, “We offer our deepest apologies for delivering such unexpected news to the fans, but the rearrangement has been done to enable the development of the members. We hope you will look over the six members’ future with an understanding mind.”
The group debuted in 2012 with the mini album “Venus,” and the members have since pursued activities in acting and variety.

Red Velvet MV Controversy

SM Entertainment has come under fire once again when, not only netizens, but also media outlets, pointed out some controversial images in Red Velvet‘s debut music video.
After the release of the “Happiness” music video, Japanese media reported that there were images referencing the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as the tragedy of the 9/11 attacks in New York, as seen in the screencaps below.
SM Entertainment responded to the reports, explaining, “After questioning the director, we found that he simply used a collage source for the images, and there was no intention behind it.”
SM Entertainment has announced that controversial images in Red Velvet‘s music video for their debut track “Happiness” will be edited out.
The rep added, "As SM wasn’t able to catch it before, we will remove the material that caused the misunderstanding as soon as possible. We will make sure not to let this kind of thing happen in the future.”

U.S. Single Debut And KCON Performance Next Week
July 31, 2014 - SPICA, one of South Korea’s hottest girl groups, is set to make waves in the US. The group will make their US performance debut at KCON - America’s largest annual K-pop concert - on August 10th at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. SPICA will perform with K-pop icons G-Dragon and Girls’ Generation.
To kick off their US invasion, SPICA will partner with Billboard Magazine to debut the album’s lead single (!!! means there's more to come?) and music video, “I Did It,” on Wednesday, August 6th (but the pic says 7th so idk). The single (releasing on ASA Music LLC), is a first completely English language song from the girls, is produced by Oliver ‘Oligee’ Goldstein, Cory Enemy, and Daniel Merlot who have credits with Carly Rae Jepsen, Shakira, Ellie Goulding, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
SPICA is not your average girl group. First off, all five members (Boa, Bohyung, Juhyun, Narae, Jiwon) have all found considerable success on their own and have joined forces to combine their very talented vocals and artistry. Boa has been a vocal trainer for five-time Golden Disk Award winning group INFINITE and SBS MTV Best Of The Best award winning group KARA. Bohyung is the top vocalist and winner of Korean music television channel MNet’s singing competition “100 Seconds Battle”. Juhyun is an accomplished model that starred in music videos for Queen of K-Pop Lee Hyori and rising star Heo Young Saeng. Narae was a top ten finalist on talent competition Superstar K. And Jiwon was featured on the MTV reality show “Diary Of Five Girls” and in the video for Baechigi’s number one hit “Shower of Tears.”
Since their debut in 2012, SPICA has released four singles, two mini albums and one repackaged album to widespread acclaim. Lee Hyori has been a long time mentor to SPICA and has had a hand in producing two singles and two videos for the group.

AOA star Seolhyun has been revealed as the new model for jeans and fashion brand Buckaroo. FNC Entertainment, the agency that represents AOA, posted a message on the group’s official Facebook site confirming the news.
A photograph of the popular girl group member was also released, showing the star wearing black Buckaroo jeans and an off-the-shoulder blouse. It was accompanied by the caption, “Seolhyun was selected to be the new muse for Buckaroo. Enjoy the 2014 F/W Buckaroo pictorial!”
A spokesperson for Buckaroo also spoke about the AOA star, telling the media, “Seolhyun exudes both innocence and sexiness. She has a youthful face, a great body and long legs, all perfect for modelling jeans. She is uniquely attractive, and that is why we chose her as our new model.”

The group, consisting of Bang Yong Guk, Zelo, Him Chan, Dae Hyun, Young Jae, and Jong Up will perform a number of songs specially selected for the live recording set to take place on Thursday, 11 September at 8pm at Resorts World Sentosa’s Waterfront Studio and passes for the recording will be given out on MTV’s website from Saturday, 9 August.

Cube Entertainment has decided to halt online music service of HyunA’s song “From Where and Until When” from her recently released mini album, “A Talk.” This is in light of the controversy concerning song composer and writer BTOB Hyunsik copying lyrics from g.o.d’s song “The Reason Why Opposites Attract.” The BTOB member explained that he was simply congratulating g.o.d on their comeback, and making a tribute to a song that he had always liked. However, JYP Entertainment, home to the original song writer Park Jin Young, and Soul Shop Entertainment, g.o.d member Kim Tae Woo‘s agency, subsequently expressed their disappointment that they were not consulted beforehand or asked for permission.
On August 1, Cube Entertainment said, “We sincerely apologize for the situation with the ‘From Where and Until When’ homage from HyunA’s third mini album. Starting at 11am this morning, the song will be unavailable online.” They continued, “Even in HyunA’s later records, this song will not be included. Again, we sincerely apologize.”
