Red Velvet Shares Thoughts on Debut, Seulgi Talks About Kyuhyun’s Mention of Her Name on Radio Star

SM Entertainment’s brand new rookie girl group Red Velvet shared their thoughts on debuting and member Seulgi also expressed thanks to her company senior, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, for mentioning her name on previous episodes of MBC’s talk show “Radio Star.”

On August 1, Red Velvet sat down with OSEN for an interview just before stepping foot on stage for their first-ever debut performance on KBS’ “Music Bank.”

On this day, the group revealed, “We’re very overwhelmed and thrilled to be able to debut, which we’ve dreamed of for a long time. Because it’s our first stage, we were really tense and nervous, but many people were supporting us so we were able to complete the performance happily.”

They also added, “We will promote and work hard to show Red Velvet’s various charms. We’ll try to approach [the public] with our friendliness.”

When asked about Kyuhyun’s mention of her on television prior to the group’s debut, Seulgi responded, “I received interest from many people after Kyuhyun (senior) mentioned me, so I was honored and I’m thankful.”

Red Velvet is SME’s first rookie group debut in two years since EXO. The four-member group is made up of members Seulgi, Irene, Wendy, and Joy. Check out the group’s newly released music video here, and be on the lookout for their first digital single “Happiness,” set to be released on August 4!

I couldn't really tell them apart in the stills but in the music bank comeback it became easier to understand the differences.
idk how to explain, Joy has like the 'cuter'/more childlike face. She reminds me bit of Kim So Hyun.
Seulgi reminds me a bit of baek ye rin of 15&.
then Irene just seems to have the 'softer' features. Like the "perfect beautiful face".
Wendy looks the most grown-up/serious in terms of features and attitude.

Joy is such a qt ;___; Also, 94 liners are all so pretty seriously. Krystal, Sulli, Suzy, Jiyoung and now Seulgi and Wendy.

I used to be bitter about them debuting to "cover up" for f(x) but I think I'll follow them just as I had with all the previous SM groups.

I've been reading the last few posts regarding this group and why are some people whining about others stanning this group already? idg the problem with stanning them is it because they're a girl group and from sm or something? because i remember people here stanning exo from the get go and there wasnt this much whining but omona is boy group biased so thats nothing new you can have a boy group with a mv of just them sitting infront of a car singing about back seats and have ten pages of people jizzing but for girl groups in order for people to like it it has to be of quality~

Well, EXO had a fuckton of photo/video teasers and a few MVs with their debut, didn't they? It could be that -- EXO actually had more material to judge off of, whereas RV has had one messy-as-fuck MV and a few teaser photos where they actually look like they could be quadruplets.

Personally I'm not impressed with Red Velvet, but it's not because I'm a 'bitter pressed f(x) stan' -- it's because nothing in their debut has actually impressed me so far. But then, I wasn't ever impressed by EXO either.
