SNSD’s Sunny Apologizes to Fans About SNSD Members Dating Status

Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sunny revealed her thoughts on the members going public with their relationships.

During the July 31 broadcast of MBC’s Star Gazing, Sunny said, “After the dating news went out, the members haven’t been able to date comfortably. They order chicken to eat with the other members at home.”

When Song Eun I joked, “Maybe Sunny released the news since she was bored,” and Sunny responded, “Yes, I was the one,” causing a round of laughter.

Sunny added, “The SNSD members share each other’s dating stories frequently. I knew about it.”

When Kang Ho Dong asked, “Sunny might have a boyfriend now too. Would you go public with your relationship? Do you have a boyfriend?” and Sunny said, “I don’t. I’m married to my work as of now.”

Sunny then said, “We actually feel very bad. The fans like how we are on the stage but they also want to see and like how we are off the stage. Whether we wanted to or not, we feel sorry to have hurt the fans’ feelings with the dating news. For the past eight years of activities, so many things have happened, other than the ones that were publicly reported. But the reason that SNSD could be loved continuously is all thanks to the fans who have always been there for us. We want to continue to give the fans what they want. We will be more careful in the future.”

This just means fans now know their unnirs (and oppars) will be super careful about dating....... Hopefully. I don't agree with it, but they are packaged as a shiny item to be sold so they gotta make sure there ain't no cracks when the shoppers come. That's all. Otherwise the entire industry needs an overhaul and uh, I'll be waiting for it to happen. It'll be a slow change but it'll def happen.

In general, I think expecting idols not to date is ridiculous. But in SNSD's case, it's especially so. These girls are reaching an age where most of their non-idol peers are getting married and starting families. They've been working their asses off for nearly eight years - they have earned it.
