i didn't truly love her first debut stage but this one is perfect. finally there is more choreo and it looks absolutely amazing. i hope most of her other stages will look like that too.

honestly? i gave myself time to process this venture but i shouldn't have read reactions bc i feel rude/alone for not getting or liking any of it. i don't want to be obnoxious so i kept it cute ig.
the first teaser, an exhibition, emotional dupstep weaved song, the lyrical themes, continued use of "fly", contemporary dance etc. it may be new for kpop but the elements have been done before or feels embarrasingly obvious what the interpretation should be. also, kinda overpraised. in the grand scheme what i think doesn't matter tbh.
You're not rude or alone. I respect Yenny for the fact that this is different in the context of K-Pop but as a fan that listens to way more stuff outside of K-Pop I can understand why some would not be impressed or feel they've seen it before (if you compare it on a world musical stage rather just isolating K-Pop).
Yeah, I am unfortunately comparing it to the world stage and to things that I would criticise from others. Maybe my opinion is just a resistance to the hype and having a lot of time to think about everything to do with this project. The whole thing is just a lot of things I don't like and can se through. I still do respect Yeeun and her project.
You're not alone. While I watched this I thought, "Oh ig some of the hype is bc it's new to kpop." But still, the song does emotionally grab me (I didn't cry), but so do songs by artist like Elisa, Imogen Heap and Ellie Goulding. But I can turn on So You Think You Can Dance and watch a stage like this every week. Not new, but still refreshing to see from a kpop artist and I hope we see more from her (and Sunmi).
After seeing a lot of users comment with "slaying" and "vocals" while not thinking it's either is pretty alienating but if i'm not alone that's cool (even if that's not what you agree with). The song/dance is definitely innovative for K-Pop and a self-written and co-composed album is a pretty uncommon for a pop singer no matter where and I respect that. I just don't like it lol. It's completely subjective but i've been too aware of what not agreeing with the consensus is like, hence my hesitance in my original comment.
I don't like Ellie or Imogen's music and I have the thought that if I don't like that kind of music in English why would I like it in K-Pop? - it's not even a thought i've had re: this mini but on a lot of occasions. Yeeun should definitely carry on but I won't be there for it, unfortunately.
I feel you, there have been plenty of times comebacks or debuts come around and ppl are "slayed" and I'm just like, nope not for me. If it's not your taste, it just isn't :) sucks that ppl feel like they can't give their honest opinion without worrying being attacked =/
I'm emotional today, but damn I was really feeling this perf. Still not in love with the choreo, but good for her, singing it live and contorting her body like that lol.
