Queen Zhang Li Yin is back, graces us with "Agape" release

Nearing her 8th year of debut anniversary and after almost 5 years since her last official come back, Zhang Li Yin has released her 3rd digital single, "Agape". The single contains two songs : (1) Agape and (2) Back Then.

As previously reported, the title song, ‘Agape’ has a beautiful piano melody and Liyin’s sorrowful vocals blend well with the ballad. The lyrics are self-composed (she helped out with the lyrics writing) for her hometown, Sichuan, in honor of the 2008 earthquake.

A week before the song "Agape" was released, Liyin wrote on her weibo that she dedicated "Agape" to remembering and commemorating the victims of the 2008 Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake. It is also to comfort and encourage the survivors who continue to live on strongly. As someone who is from Sichuan, Liyin said "These are my true feelings for my hometown in this song. Let love live on forever!"

As for the second song "Back Then", it is a cover of Hu Xia's "Those Years" (the theme song for the movie You Are the Apple of My Eye.)

In the recently ended drama MBC’s Triangle, Kim Jae Joong took the lead role for the first time.

His character ‘Heo Young Dal’ is in the center of the story, as he is related to all the other characters. Starting out as a petty gangster, Heo Young Dal later becomes a successful businessman, going through a big transformation.

In a recent interview, Kim Jae Joong shared, “Heo Young Dal went through a growth too rapidly. Since it was so fast, I worried about how I could act out the process of growth naturally.”

Netizens are buzzing about supposed photos of f(x)’s Sulli and Dynamic Duo‘s Choiza at the beach together, a few days after it was announced that Sulli would take a leave from promotions.

On July 30, rapper TopBob, who is cousins with Choiza, shared several photos of what Netizens are guessing as Sulli and Choiza on a vacation at the beach. The photos were deleted, but not before someone collected the photos and shared them in an online community board. The first photo seems to be a photo of Choiza, Sulli, and TopBob looking out into the ocean with their arms raised. The photo caption reads, “Cheers for kidnapping!” and includes hashtags for “kidnapping” and “Donghae” (A seaside city). The community also included what could be recent photos of Sulli, showing the similarity in hairstyles.

Singer HA:TFELT (Ye Eun of the Wonder Girls), mentioned the activities of her fellow members.

On the afternoon of August 30 in Gangnam, Seoul, HA:TFELT participated in an interview where she stated, “Whether the members of the Wonder Girls are together or separate, we are still family.”

“We still share everything and all of us retain a strong passion for music. “She continued, “At the same time, we are different from each other and possess different abilities. Now is the right time to individually express those strengths.”

Shinhwa Loses Rights to Name 'SHINHWA'?

‘Shinhwa’ loses in dispute over group name ‘Shinhwa’

Trademark rights with ‘Jun Media’…Court ‘Calculating the profits, Shinhwa has to pay up 100million won (~97,000 USD)”                      

               

'Shinhwa's' side has lost in the dispute over 'Shinhwa's' name, and has ended up in a position where they have to pay over a hundred million won worth of “name usage fees”.

It was revealed on the 26th that the Civil Case Department #13 of the Seoul Central District Court (Judge Shim Wooyong) ruled partially in favour of plaintiff Jun Media in their case against Shinhwa’s agency, Shinhwa Company, asking for Shinhwa Company to “pay up 141.13 million won (~ 137,000 USD)." Jun Media was given full rights to the name of ‘Shinhwa’ from SM Entertainment.

On the other hand, the judge had ruled against Shinhwa Company in their case against Jun Media, asking Jun Media for 183.18 million won (~178,355 USD).

The dispute started as early as in 2003, when the contract between SM Entertainment and Shinhwa ended.

SM Entertainment signed a contract with Shinhwa’s new agency, Good EMG, agreeing to give them the rights to use of the name ‘Shinhwa’. Also, after completing the registration for the trademark of ‘Shinhwa’ in 2005, they entrusted it to Jun Media, and handed it over fully to Jun Media the following year.

After that, Shinhwa left Good EMG, independently set up a new agency called ‘Shinhwa Company’, and signed a contract with Jun Media on the use of ‘Shinhwa’s’ trademark in 2011.
