Queen Zhang Li Yin is back, graces us with "Agape" release

Nearing her 8th year of debut anniversary and after almost 5 years since her last official come back, Zhang Li Yin has released her 3rd digital single, "Agape". The single contains two songs : (1) Agape and (2) Back Then.

As previously reported, the title song, ‘Agape’ has a beautiful piano melody and Liyin’s sorrowful vocals blend well with the ballad. The lyrics are self-composed (she helped out with the lyrics writing) for her hometown, Sichuan, in honor of the 2008 earthquake.

A week before the song "Agape" was released, Liyin wrote on her weibo that she dedicated "Agape" to remembering and commemorating the victims of the 2008 Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake. It is also to comfort and encourage the survivors who continue to live on strongly. As someone who is from Sichuan, Liyin said "These are my true feelings for my hometown in this song. Let love live on forever!"

As for the second song "Back Then", it is a cover of Hu Xia's "Those Years" (the theme song for the movie You Are the Apple of My Eye.)

she sounds good, but both songs aren't something that moved me, and def not stuff i'd actively seek out in my playlist. the ending of agape reminds me of mulan somehow, i don't know why, and her vocal acrobatics as back then peaks was gorgeous. but... yeah.

I really do not understand her contract with SM, they don't release anything for years and when she finally makes a comeback they don't promote her the way she deserves. Is she their hidden basement baby? like does she at least appear on shows or anything?

but it's true. her promotions have really only picked up this year, since SM The Ballad promotions. between 2010-2014, she really hasn't done much aside from guesting on her hoobaes' concerts (e.g. SJM, SHINee, etc)... at least we haven't seen her at EXO concerts yet. that would be embarrassing.

Absolutely love both of the songs! This is what I expect her to sing and SM gives her just what her voice deserved! :D

BTW, when I played the videos I realized that she sang in Chinese -- I thought her comeback will be in Korean lol
