NU'EST get massive popularity spike and re-enter Korean music charts

And it's all thanks to Produce 101!

NU'EST are one of the more high-profile contestants in season 2 of Produce 101, despite having debuted back in 2012. While the winners of the show have yet to be announced, it appears that NU'EST's appearance on the show has already paid off big time!

Despite releasing their most recent album "Canvas" way back in August 2016, the exposure from NU'EST's appearance on Produce 101 has resulted in the album (and some of the group's older albums) to re-enter various Korean music charts.

Over on the best-selling physical albums chart on HANTEO, NU'EST have re-entered the chart at No.5, No.9, and No.14 with "Canvas," "Q Is" and "Action" respectively.

Koogle.tv: “The Merciless,” an upcoming crime-action film starring Im Si-wan and Sol Kyung-gu, is slated to hit theaters in May, its production companies CJ Entertainment said on Thursday. Im will play policeman Hyun-soo who enters a prison on an undercover revenge mission. There he meets Jae-ho, played by Sol, who is the second man of the criminal organization Hyun-soo is targeting. After being released from the prison, the two team up to seize power within the organization.

The film, helmed by director Byun Sung-hyun -- who was behind the romance film “Whatcha Wearin’?” (2012) -- will also feature the award-winning veteran actors Kim Hee Won, Jeon Hye-Jin and Lee Gyeung-young.

THE OMONA PLAYLIST ♪: Guilty Pleasure

We all have those songs where no matter how much we should hate it, we can't stop singing it. We just downright love that tune and more often than not, there is no reason for it (I LOVE Sexy, Free, and Single...run up!). So what do most of us do? We hide the fact that we love those songs in fear of being judged by others. And if you already hide that you love K-pop, you're hiding on top of hiding, living multiple lives.

Well, I'm back to ease your worries and toss away those fears. That way, everybody can be judged! And in future posts, you can shade your fellow members by recalling the trash song they love! In true Omona fashion.

The first go-round of this thing helped me with emphasizing and detailing the rules. Some of y'all just don't read. I'm guilty, too, though.

Co-Ed School's Former Member Cha Joo Hyuk Breaks Even More Laws

After trying to smuggle drugs into Canada and being prosecuted for drug use, former idol-turned-actor Cha Joo Hyuk has now been caught drunk driving.

On May 10, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office announced that they will be filing an additional charge for his act of drunk driving and injuring pedestrians.

According to the police, Cha Joo Hyuk was found driving an Audi in a drunken state on October 30, 2016. While he was driving, he ended up hitting three pedestrians. At the time, his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.112 percent (Korea’s BAC limit is 0.05 percent), resulting in a cancellation of his driver’s license.

Afterwards, one of the pedestrians was found with a collarbone fracture, while the other two had injuries such as a cervical sprain.

Meanwhile, Cha Joo Hyuk is being prosecuted without detention for smoking marijuana cigarettes in the basement of a parking garage back in March 2016. He was also revealed to have been caught smuggling drugs into Canada in November 2016.

Then in April, he was additionally charged for ecstasy injections and marijuana dealing. Starting from April 2016 to August 2016, Cha Joo Hyuk was suspected to have inhaled and dispensed drugs such as marijuana, ketamine, and ecstasy 13 times as he traveled between Korea and the Netherlands. He is also suspected of introducing a marijuana seller after receiving a request from someone this past February. He also bought 3 million won (approximately $2,650) worth of marijuana after receiving a request and demanded 3 to 4 kilograms (approximately 7 to 9 pounds) of marijuana in return as a service charge.

Cha Joo Hyuk previously debuted as a member in the K-pop group Co-Ed School back in 2010, and left the group after getting swept up in a sex crime scandal.

Han Seung Yeon And Lee Seo Won Cast In New JTBC Web Drama

Han Seung Yeon and Lee Seo Won will be appearing in the new JTBC web drama “Last Minute Romance”.

Han Seung Yeon, who has been recognized for her acting ability in “Age of Youth,” will be playing Baek Se, whose motto in life is to live life without sticking out. Despite having tragic moments in her life as an orphan as well as a terminally ill patient, she works as part of the staff team in a suicide prevention counseling center. After she receives her diagnosis, she begins a contract relationship with Lee Seo Won’s character Dong Joon, who also happens to resemble her celebrity crush.

Along with this web drama, JTBC will showcase five web dramas this summer, featuring interesting concepts such as mystery romance, hip hop, and fantasy.

Recently Back in January, Dispatch released yet another borderline horrifying article titled “As light as a feather: 9 ‘paper doll’ idols” (part of its ongoing list series “Girl Story” which focus on idols and often, specifically, their diets like this one) about several female idols and their less than 45kg bodies.

One of the comments on the first article says ‘Krystal isn’t as skinny as I thought’ because Krystal weighs over 42kg. At around 5’4”, I would hope Krystal weighs more than that, since in order for that weight to be a normal BMI as an adult woman you’d need to be approximately 4’2”. So when I say ‘borderline horrifying’, I mean that without the ‘borderline’.

To make matters worse, in the second article linked we have some inspirational quotations idols talking about how it feels to diet. Hani says ‘I ate only so much as so I didn’t die’.
