Block B revealed that they have teamed up with the well-known messaging app KakaoTalk as they announced the release of their real emoticons on May 14th.
The group has released 24 real emoticons where the members can be seen expressing different emotions varying from being happy, sad, excited, dancing, and more while both individual and group emoticons are available.
Although the emoticons have just been released, member Ahn Jaehyo has already shared his love for them as he posted a photo of a KakaoTalk message with his mother onto Twitter, revealing that he has already used the new emoticons.
Meanwhile, Block B’s sub-unit BASTARZ released their debut music video and track “Conduct Zero” on April 14th. The sub-unit consist of B-Bomb, P.O, and U-Kwon while the music video revealed their wild side as they had aggressive rap verses and choreography.

On the upcoming episode of SBS’ “Did You Eat?“, actress Kim Gyuri will be telling her personal story of loss and love.

According to preview press releases, Kim Gyuri discussed during the episode recording how, whenever she sees kimchi, she thinks about her mom.

Kimchi is already a symbol of motherly love as it is a staple Korean dish that is often made by the women of the family. For Kim Gyuri, there is an extra layer of nostalgia associated with the food as she lost her mother 12 years ago.

Kim Gyuri described with tears forming in her eyes, “When I came back home after my mother’s funeral, I discovered the last jar of kimchi my mom made.” She continued, “I couldn’t bring myself to eat it for a year because it seemed like it was the last connection to my mom.” In the end, mold developed on the the kimchi and Kim Gyuri had no choice but to throw it out.

Kim Gyuri tells us story to which we can all relate, regardless of where we are from. Death is a part of life but what do we do with what is left behind by those who are no longer with us? It’s a question we all end up asking, and Kim Gyuri shares her story with viewers of “Did You Eat?”, reminding us to grateful for family and the love and care they provide us.

This episode of “Did You Eat?” airs on May 17.

Entertainment company sued by hair salons for refusing to pay massive debts

Several hair salons are suing an entertainment company whose idols who have built up a 19.32 million won (~$17,700) debt for services.

According to reports, seven idols from the same agency have asked for services from the hair salons on credit without the intention of paying off their debts.

In response to the accusations that they do not mean to pay off their debts, the agency responded that their intention is not to avoid paying. The agency continued by explaining that with over 1,000 trainees belonging to around 350 different agencies, the chances of a trainee debuting is only about 30%, and the chance that an agency will be profiting from their initial investment in the trainee is about 5%. In short, the agency believes that they cannot afford to pay for the services, as it would be putting them into more debt.

In response to the situation, netizens have criticized both the idols and the company, leaving comments of disapproval and criticism.

“Show Me the Money” has given birth to several stars, including Bobby, who just revealed the music video to his self-written song “King of the Youth” on May 15.

In the revealed music video, Bobby is fully dressed in hip-hop attire, from a snapback to showy jewelry. When he appears on the terrace of a building for a guerrilla performance, the crowd goes crazy with surprise and marvels at his eye-catching performance.

“2015. 06 Coming Soon” is added at the end of the clip, foreshadowing the air date for “Show Me the Money 4.”

Meanwhile, Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4” is a survival hip-hop program made to find the most talented hidden rappers. The fact that rappers such as Winner’s Song Min Ho, MONSTA X’s Jooheon, and MADTOWN’s Buffy are auditioning has already made fans anticipating for the show.

Super Junior is the First Artist Revealed for KCON 2015 LA

With KCON 2015 just two and a half months away, Super Junior has been revealed the as first artist performing for the event.

It has been three years since Super Junior performed in the US for the 2012 SMTOWN Tour and Korean Music Wave in Google.

KCON, which will be held at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles this year, is set for July 31 to August 2.

Once again, there will be concerts on both Saturday and Sunday nights. For the convention, fans can expect celebrity panels, autograph sessions, contests, fan workshops, amazing food and much more.

The following week, the event will also be hitting the East coast for at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on August 8. For now they have said that the lineup for the will be different, but may have a few of the same artists.

Last year’s lineup featured Girls’ Generation, G-Dragon, CNBLUE, IU, VIXX, Teen Top, B1A4, BTS, Jung Joon Young, and SPICA.

Single Motherhood Continues To Be A Taboo In Korea

On May 11, the American news outlet National Public Radio (NPR) delivered a report which focused on the plight of single mother's in Korea.May 11 is recognized as Single Mother's Day in Korea, a date which has been designated to raise awareness of discrimination against single mothers. Single Mother's Day also draws attention to children who were either removed from or placed into adoption by unwed mothers.

The NPR report focused on the struggles faced by Korea's unwed mothers. The segment was included in the program "Morning Edition." NPR visited a May 11 single mothers rally, which was attended by 70 supporters. "We want the society to accept that unwed mothers are just women as well, they're members of society, and they have a right to be happy," said rally organizer Choi Hyun Sook.
