chibi-rei.livejournal.comAmerican rap heavyweight Twista released a collaboration track with Korean rapper Outsider. The song is titled “Star Warz.”
Representatives for Outsider explained that the the track features the two stars, who are both famous for their speed-rapping skills, battle it out to see who is the faster rapper.
The person stated, “’Star Warz’ features Korea’s fastest rapper take on the world’s fastest rapper, Twista. This is a very special collaboration, so you can expect a lot from this release. You can judge for yourself the winner of this battle!”
UFC fighter Choi Doo Ho has already used excerpts of the song as the introduction music for recent fights, and action from the fighter’s bouts is featured in the song’s explosive music video.
Twista became famous in United States with the song “Slow Jamz” in 2003. Outsider made his debut in 2004 with the mini album “Come Outside.”

I also wanted to mention the other fighter, Fred "Warpath" Sloan. He's a MMA fighter and a friend of mine. He was also recently in the movie "Big Match" with Lee Jung-jae (though he said it's just a small amount of screen time).

BIGBANG’s T.O.P has recently become the center of attention soon after it was revealed Lee Jung Jae and Lim Seryung were currently dating, reports revealing it mostly occurred at a hoobae’s house.
Dispatch reported that“Lee Jung Jae and Lim Seryung have enjoyed dates at a close hoobae’s house. This place is known as the ‘Love house of Top Stars.'”
Star Today further reported on January 8th that a neighbor living in the area had spotted the newly revealed couple entering T.O.P’s residence several times. The UN Village (Hannam-dong) residence was quoted saying, “I have witnessed Lee Jungjae and Lim Seryung enter the P villa, in which T.O.P of BIGBANG lives, several times. The picture of Dispatch on the two are at the place as well.”

Yesterday ended for me just as any other in the EBONY digital offices; scheduling the night’s content and figuring out how I could get back to Brooklyn from Midtown while remaining as warm as possible in the 16 degree weather. But just as 6:00PM came closer, I found myself clicking on a random YouTube link. It was entirely in Korean, and had several iPhone “Fire Flame” emojis behind it. As someone whose curiosity is regularly tested, I clicked the link only to have my (admittedly Americanized) perception of pop culture blown away with the force of an atomic bomb. It was a Korean man, performing at some mega-stadium, in what looked like an awards ceremony. And he was rapping. And he was KILLING IT.

Jonghyun is back to dominate the stage once again not as a member of SHINee, but as a solo artist. On January 8, a special debut showcase for Jonghyun took place at the SMTown COEX Atrium held at Seongsamdong, Seoul. The MC for the special event was Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung. SHINee members Minho and Taemin were also there to watch and support their hyung (older brother).
The special event featured Jonghyun’s self-introduction for his debut album entitled, ‘BASE’. It was definitely one of the most anticipated debut stage of the year as not only Korean Shawols, but fans from around the world gathered on social media sites to show their huge support! Shawols were on the edge of their seats as they waited for the show to start and see SHINee's main vocalist perform his new songs for the first time ever.
The show started with Jonghyun singing, ‘It’s Late (Beautiful Tonight)’, which he first performed during SHINee’s 5th Anniversary showcase in 2013. The powerful vocalist shone on the stage, donning a simple white-turtleneck sweater and a black blazer.
After the soulful performance, Jonghyun greeted the fans and did a brief interview with the host of the night, Sooyoung. He introduced each track to the fans and shared the meaning and inspirations he had while being actively involved in producing his album. After the interview, Jonghyun removed his black blazer and kept the turtleneck sweater on and added a white sash to complete the look. He swept fans off their feet by performing ‘Hallelujah’, the third track on his upcoming album. 'Hallelujah' is said to be an R&B track that is accompanied by simple but very seductive dance moves.
The powerful vocalist of SHINee entered the stage once again with a new outfit— a simple black dress shirt with a red velvet blazer; effectively showcasing a masculine and sensual look. He performed the first track of his album, 'Déjà-Boo', along with featuring musician Zion.T. The upbeat song, which has maintained its No.1 spot on MelOn for 2 days, made the crowd go wild with its captivating choreography.
Lastly, Jonghyun came out on stage for the last time to perform the title track, ‘Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)’, with rookie rapper Iron. He donned a flashy pearlescent aqua suit that he later dubbed as ‘SHINee’s color’. He performed the song while using a mic-stand that had a ‘BASE’ logo on it and executed a powerful and exciting stage presence!
After the performance, Jonghyun expressed his gratitude with a speech that was addressed to his members, his production team and his fans. Finally, SM Entertainment gave fans a surprise as the music video for ‘Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)’ was shown. Multiple fanaccounts claimed that the music video boasts Jonghyun’s powerful vocals for the new, intense song.
Jonghyun’s debut album, ‘BASE’ will be released on January 12th at midnight (KST) on domestic music sites.

K-Pop Planet is a special edition program of KBS Cool FM’s representative program Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio and it is a freestyle music debate that will air every other Sunday at 11 p.m. (KST) starting January 11.

Brown Eyed Girls' Gain is confirmed to be having her solo comeback in early March.
A representative from Gain's agency told Star News today, "Gain is working for her new solo album as of today." They added that though it was originally supposed to be released in February, Gain decided to put much effort to make the album better and is pushed to early March release.
Furthermore, they revealed that Gain's new mini album will showcase a sexier and unique image that will outstand her previous image. Meanwhile, Gain released her latest solo album 'Truth or Dare' last February.

Former KARA member Nicole revealed during an interview that she was recently prescribed medication to help ease the extensive stress that she had been battling in preparation for her solo debut.
During an interview for the January 2015 issue of fashion magazine GanGee, Nicole stated, “While preparing for my solo debut, the fear of being judged on my talents and skills really overpowered me. The burden was just too much. I became so sensitive to the point that if someone had just slightly poked at me regarding the issue, I would burst into tears. I even reproached myself for letting my greed outrun me.”

Plot:

OP Note: I saw this in my FB newsfeed earlier today, and thought it was interesting, especially in light of the Ebony article that was recently posted. I love OG Maco's U Guessed It, and while the Korean/japanese song is a blatant rip-off, I enjoyed it. They had a swagger to them that sold the video for me. Also I really love the collaboration between Japanese and Korean artists with the flow staying fluid. That was amazing for me.
Curious about the lyrics, but I doubt they any more depth to them than the original lol. I don't care about that 1llionaire song, and the MAMA performance was alright. Bobby brought the right energy to it, but it just wasn't doing anything for me as a song.
woohyun.livejournal.comIn 2001, I met a boy so shy he could barely even look into peoples’ eyes. He was only in 6th grade but when he opened his mouth and sang, I was shocked because I’ve never met an Asian voice filled with so much soul.
Because of his poor financial background, this boy saved up his own bus money by walking to school for two months just to buy a Boys II Men tape. He listened to it till the tape wore out. He absorbed and learned everything he could from that tape.
Amazed by his talent, I brought him with me to America to learn true R&B/Soul music. Only minimum level of financial support was provided by the company since he was just a trainee, but he hustled and worked hard to develop his talent. And slowly his talent started to stun many U.S. musicians and executives and finally we agreed to a recording deal with a great producer. We were all extremely excited.
But unfortunately little after, U.S. economy crisis caused by Lehman Brothers took over the music business by storm and all the risky projects were dropped. Breaking an Asian R&B artist in the U.S was of course on the top of the list. Most of our JYP U.S. projects got dropped and we had no choice but to leave the US behind.
However, this boy insisted to stay in New York alone to learn and further develop his craft. I tried to convince him to come back with me to Asia where I knew he would succeed but he did not listen. So he stayed for 5 more years and made his way through the New York underground music scene developing and mastering his music.
And after 9 years of his U.S. life, the boy returned to Korea with 20 songs written and produced by him. I could not believe my ears. The little shy boy who I met 15 years ago was standing in front of me as an amazing artist.
His unfortunate childhood, the loneliness… nothing stopped his passion for music.
Now I introduce this kid to you. This is G. Soul
