Boy group VIXX who is riding on the uptrend has confirmed their comeback in October, aiming to enter the top class.

On the 25th, according to a broadcast official VIXX confirmed their comeback for October 14th, and are currently organizing their schedule for comeback promotions in the third week of October.

At around the same time BEAST and other popular comebacks have been scheduled, so how VIXX, who has started to ride the uptrend, will overcome the competition has garnered attention.

iKON to Open for BIGBANG’s Japan Dome Tour

YG Entertainment‘s upcoming boy group iKON will be opening for BIGBANG‘s Japanese dome tour series, “BIGBANG Japan Dome Tour 2014.”

After the completion of the currently airing reality show “Mix & Match,” the final seven members of iKON will be performing as opening acts for their seniors, BIGBANG.

BIGBANG’s Japanese Tour will take place between November 15 to December 27, visiting Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Tokyo, for a total of 11 shows.

Last year, the finally chosen members of WINNER opened for BIGBANG’s Japanese dome tour.

In the latest episode of “Mix & Match” a new trainee Yang Hong Suk will be joining the eight trainees already competing to be part of iKON.

“Mix & Match” airs on Mnet every Thursday.

Investigation Continues on the Vehicle Involved in Ladies’ Code’s Accident

Police continue to investigate the vehicle involved in the tragic accident of Ladies’ Code on Sept. 3. According to a news report, a statement from the Yongin Police Station, who holds jurisdiction over the case said, “To date, the investigation on the Ladies’ Code accident is still in progress.”

The vehicle was on the Yeongdong Expressway going to the direction towards Incheon when it hit a protective wall near the Singal Junction at around 1:00AM on Sept. 3. The accident caused the immediate death of member Go Eun Bi and the fatal injury of Kwon RiSe, who passed away days later. The other members, Sojung, Ashley and Zuny were recently reported to still be in recovery following injuries sustained during the crash.

The van has already been transferred to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation for thorough examination. Polaris Entertainment, the management agency of Ladies’ Code has revealed, “The rear wheel of the vehicle carrying Ladies’ Code was damaged, which caused it to turn and hit the guard rail. However, we have not yet found the exact cause of the accident.”

After shedding 10 kilograms, Ailee talked about her diet.

On September 25, Ailee held a showcase for her third album Magazine at the Ilchi Art Hall in Chungdahm-dong.

"In one month, I lost about 10 kilograms," said Ailee. "I had no thoughts about losing weight fast, but it just happened that way. Because I lost weight rapidly, my stamina got weaker. I heard even my voice sounds different. I′m trying really hard to make sure keep the power in my voice."

First Teaser for "Cantebile Tomorrow" + More Character Photos

The first teaser’s out for Cantabile Tomorrow, and I’m liking what I see. It’s not overtly funny, but has a light, sensitive touch (inasmuch as we can judge in thirty seconds), and the tone, cinematography, and use of music—Mendelssohn’s 4th—is really working for me.

In the trailer, Joo-won says in voice-over: “The moment he waved his baton, I knew. Just as classical music filled the air, in that place where the classical melody remained in my ear. And in that place, I met her.”

He means Shim Eun-kyung, of course, who plays the Nae-il (“tomorrow”) of the drama’s title. In the story, his character starts out primarily a pianist, although he harbors close-held dreams of conducting. But he’s also proficient at the violin as well (which should make his violinist buddy, played by Go Kyung-pyo, simultaneously annoyed and impressed, I’m pretty sure), and we can see Joo-won practicing with the instrument in the photos below.

(I’ll admit that it’s a huge pet peeve of mine when instruments are played completely wrongly onscreen, especially when the characters are supposedly virtuosos, but I know that there are obviously going to be limitations that you can’t get around. And acting talent trumps the ability to actually play in real life, for sure. I just hope the faking is done as well as possible, with seamless edits.)

In previous projects, production house Group 8 has displayed a tendency to go for comic-book-like moods, often characterized by a cute tone or broad comedy (see: Boys Over Flowers, Tamra the Island, Playful Kiss, and Pretty Man—though I found Goong to be an exception, being moodier in a nice way), but I think the feel displayed in the preview fits much better for this story.

Also, I’m relieved that they’re keeping the hero’s narration, since the voice-overs provided a window into his insights that were pretty important; he’s so taciturn on the outside that it was a really nice way to get inside his head, to hear his thought processes and realizations and moments of wonder. It also helps take us along on his journey of discovery, because despite appearances our perfect hero does quite a bit of maturing in the series. Fingers, commence crossing! Oh, let’s be real, they’ve been crossed for months.

Cantabile Tomorrow premieres on October 13 on KBS.
