JYJ Junsu to come back as solo in October, will he be seen on a music program?



There is interest focusing on whether group JYJ’s Junsu will appear on the 3 terrestrial broadcasters’ music programs, amid him making a comeback as a solo artist next month.

According to the business industry on September 14, Junsu will release his solo album in only 7 months after his 3rd album ‘FLOWER’ last March. In the album this time, there contains songs well-matched for autumn and winter, like ballads and dance songs filled with vocal colors unique to Junsu. He is planning on going on an Asia Tour –i.e. to Japan and more– after the album release.

In the business industry, they are paying attention at Junsu being able to appear on the 3 terrestrial broadcasters’ music-airing programs this time. Junsu was a member of TVXQ but is active together with Yuchun and Jaejoong as JYJ after they split from SM Entertainment in 2009 and shifted their affiliation to C-JeS Entertainment. However, Yuchun and Jaejoong, including Junsu, even have not made an appearance on the 3 terrestrial broadcast channels’ music programs after their split from TVXQ. JYJ’s terrestrial music program appearance is unique only to Junsu’s EBS ‘Space Empathy’ last April, and this is also an appearance achieved 6 years after his withdrawal from TVXQ.

In the business industry, it is reported that JYJ has not appeared on a music program since splitting from SM, and yet their legal battle has made an impact. They are artists who started a legal battle with and withdrew from the ‘pop culture power’ SM –that’s commonly known as the country’s biggest entertainment–. Because of that, they were left off of appearing on terrestrial music programs. We will point out that couldn’t be the only ones a burden on broadcasters themselves.

Last April Choi Min Hee, an Assemblywoman of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy, brought up an observation where she tried to solve JYJ’s implicit ‘appearance ban’ on music-airing programs by proposing the purported ‘JYJ Law’. The JYJ Law contains contents that prohibits actions and such by broadcasters in preventing an artist from appearing on music broadcasts for no reason.

Still, it is an uncertain situation whether there’s be a terrestrial music program appearance by Junsu. Whether he’ll make an appearance on a program will be due to a producer or someone else’s authority. Even if he is an applicable singer, he has to rise to the No.1 nomination of a music-ranking program, or they might not be able to fit him in a broadcast if he doesn’t climb up onto the performer list.



SM is drawing a line decisively about speculations in the public eye that any influences from SM toward JYJ –i.e. Junsu– having not made an appearance on a music program, did not happen. A representative from SM said, “We do not want SM and JYJ to be mentioned together”.

Meanwhile we tried contacting by phone calls and other ways several times but terrestrial music programs’ PDs’ stances about whether Junsu will make an appearance, were not heard.

Fans have recently taken the time to discuss the question of which agency 2NE1’s Dara truly belongs in.

Although achieving a high point of fame with 2NE1 under YG Entertainment, Dara has become the point of attention for netizens to discuss.

Netizens have come to the conclusion that the idol should not have debuted under YG Entertainment. They stated that her natural freshness and immortal beauty were hidden in the early 2NE1 days by the group’s flashy concepts and overdone makeup.

A look at her photos without makeup compared to with the heavy stage makeup reveal the astonishing contrast. With this in mind, the netizens selected SM Entertainment as her ideal agency. They hypothesized that Lee Soo Man would have taken care of her and helped adjust her nasal singing tone.

SISTAR’s Soyu and 10cm’s Kwon Jung Yeol have revealed photos for their new album. Agency Starship Entertainment announced their duet officially on Twitter by releasing the photos for the new album. The photos portray them as a cute, sweet couple.

The collaboration project between Soyu whose hit songs include “Some” and “The Space Between” and Kwon Jung Yeol will be produced by Kim Do Hoon who is known for his romantic melodies and lyrics by BrotherSu who produced Zion. T’s “Eat.”

Fans are highly anticipating romantic chemistry between Soyu’s vocal abilities and Kwon Jung Yeol’s musical sensibilities. The collaboration album will be released online throughout various music sites on September 22.

The posts were about how I groped Suho-ssi's thighs and how he didn't like it and had to move away from me. The posts also demanded that I clarify it or apologize.

I would first of all like to apologize. I apologize to Suho-ssi and his fans. Thinking back to the situation now, I don't remember exactly what happened, but I think this is all happening because I touched him and people saw that. I had no intention of doing it but I think I touched him without thinking about it while reacting to something else.

Universal Studios to Co-Produce Their First Korean Drama

American film studio Universal Studios will be venturing into the k-drama market with the upcoming drama from the producer behind “It’s Okay, That’s Love.”

It was reported on September 15 that that Universal Studios has decided to invest in PD Kim Kyu Tae‘s latest project, “Lover of the Moon.” The American film company is currently in discussion with the drama’s production house, Wind Is Blowing, to fine-tune their terms. The filming may begin before the end of this year. The total budget is reported to be around 15 billion won (approximately $13 million USD).

PD Kim Kyu Tae’s project is based on the popular Chinese drama “Scarlet Heart.” Previously, he has directed “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “Iris” and “The World That They Live In,” among other well-received works.

EXO to Hold First Ever Dome Concert in Korea

SM Entertainment male group EXO is set to host Korea’s first ever dome concert, which will take place the in Seoul Gocheok Dome Baseball Stadium.

The popular idol group will be hosting their concert 2015 EXO-Love CONCERT in DOME on October 10th in the Seoul Gocheok Dome Baseball Stadium. EXO will be making history by becoming the first idol group or artist to host a concert in a dome in South Korea.

This concert is a response to and a gift for fans who have successfully helped EXO sell over one million physical copies of their latest album LOVE ME RIGHT, landing first place on various music charts, and winning first place 30 times on various music programs.
The concert will consist of not only stage performances, but also of various events including special performances and a talk session with the fans.

The ticket sales will begin on internet ticket website ‘Yes24’ starting September 21st 8:00 PM KST. Other details regarding the concert will be available on SMTOWN’s official home page.
