American film studio Universal Studios will be venturing into the k-drama market with the upcoming drama from the producer behind “It’s Okay, That’s Love.”

It was reported on September 15 that that Universal Studios has decided to invest in PD Kim Kyu Tae‘s latest project, “Lover of the Moon.” The American film company is currently in discussion with the drama’s production house, Wind Is Blowing, to fine-tune their terms. The filming may begin before the end of this year. The total budget is reported to be around 15 billion won (approximately $13 million USD).

PD Kim Kyu Tae’s project is based on the popular Chinese drama “Scarlet Heart.” Previously, he has directed “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “Iris” and “The World That They Live In,” among other well-received works.

Lol it's too late, I quit to move to NY...

It was fine, I didnt want to be in entertainment and I wanted to move to NY so I left. I was working in Pictures tho so I worked on all the movies we released and got to see them early if I wanted to (didn't really care to do so). The people I worked with were great but there were no real perks to working there.

Weren't able to catch the hallyu wave with Wa$$up* or Boys Republic, so they're trying again with a drama.

*Though I think Wa$$up do well in South America? When are they gonna comeback, anyway.

Ugh, piss off, Universal. Like there isn't enough bland American(ized) entertainment oozing across the world, they gotta drag kdramas down too?
