Junyoung Reveals Changes to Star Empire Contract, Urges Agencies to Treat K-Pop Idols Better

Following a series of tweets detailing his struggles and mistreatment as an idol by Star Empire CEO Shin Joo Hak, ZE:A leader Moon Junyoung (Lee Ho) shed some light as to what went down during discussions with the agency.

It seems like Star Empire, ZE:A’s agency, will now be going through some big changes, starting with the management of the agency and specific contractual terms. Junyoung also urges agencies to resolve any issues with their artists internally, calling for better treatment of idols in the industry.

On September 21, Junyoung wrote, “I have finished talking with CEO Shin Joo Hak. It has now been decided that I, that we, will run Star Empire - we will make it into a ZE:A company. Everyone, I promised you that this will be ZE:A’s day, that I’ll either cause this all to collapse or absorb it entirely. Everyone, it’s now time for you to please protect me. However, the truth is…”

“In the end, [CEO Shin Joo Hak] has lost everything and has gone broke. I still resent him and hate him but still I served under him for 8 years and I gunned him down. That responsibility…for that, I will accept the denouncement of the public and from our fans. CEO Shin Joo Hak and I will take responsibility for all the abuse and criticism. We have also decided to reverse the contract, 70% to us and 30% to the CEO,” he continued, revealing that ZE:A will soon be going through contractual changes with Star Empire.

“What I want to say is that, through this recent incident, all the agency CEOs are aware of the fact that there is a lot of issues with the contracts. I will keep my mouth shut so I hope you will correct this and treat your artists better. Lastly, I respectfully request this from you. From the heart…if you really understand…

Truly take the mindset that you’re starting afresh…put everything aside and believe that this is your own children. I respectfully request that you do this again just once more. And to all the public, fans and reporters that have helped out..thank you…I sincerely thank you for clearing these false charges,” he added.

“In future, for the sake of everyone that has read all my messages, as the representative of the singing, dancing, variety show ZE:A, along with my seniors, colleagues, juniors and all the artists, I vow on my changed name ‘Lee Hoo’ and ZE:A that I will dare to continue to work and live extremely hard,” Junyoung says.

“But I’m not a coward, I’ll just keep quiet for a bit and observe. To all the agency CEOs and management, I hope you will resolve these issues internally, correct them and apologize for them. What we want is for you to put everything aside and try to win over the hearts and minds of the artists,” the ZE:A leader continued.

“In the future, if something like this happens again, I will hear about it, observe it and feel it. In that case, it would be great if you are aware of the fact that I hold a weapon that could turn the whole entertainment industry upside down. I’m sorry for causing a fuss and I would like to say my thanks once again. Thanks to everyone, we have once again reclaimed our hopes, aspirations and dreams. Thank you, and please take care of us.

The thing about popular opinion is that it can become a much talked about topic, and also make me a fool in an instant. They were just a student that started down this path because they just liked singing. I shall now call a ceasefire in this war and I shall see you next time. I once again sincerely give my thanks,” Junyoung says.

He also made sure to clarify one thing for fans: “Yes. that’s right, I shall put the final nail in the coffin. Star Empire, CEO Shin Joo Hak, just because I’m a guy, just because I’m the leader, as the representative of ZE:A, I have been slapped by him. It was more than once or twice. This sort of clear and provocative statement. I’m also human, so if I did all this seeking money then right from the outset I would have….sigh…..”

“And please don’t criticize the members. Please don’t do this. To be honest, those friends did nothing wrong. They are just kind guys that worked hard and did what was asked of them. Please criticise me and CEO Shin Joo Hak. Why someone had to do this and for what cause..please think it over once more…I beg of you. If I did something wrong then I will accept my punishment,” Junyoung concludes, “Sorry, and thank you.”

Star Empire releases official statement + netizens dig up old tweet made by Siwan

Recently at the center of controversy due to criticisms made by ZE:A’s Jun Young, Star Empire released official statement on the issue.

Through the press release released on September 22, Star Empire stated, “First of all, we would like to apologize to all the fans who love Moon Jun Young and ZE:A, for causing you to worry.”

The statement read, “Last night (September 21), Moon Jun Young and CEO Shin Joo Hak shared their sincere thoughts and resolved their misunderstandings. Through the conversation with Moon Jun Young, which continued all night long, we were able to solve all conflicts with Moon Jun Young.”

It continued, “We should have communicated with each other earlier on, but as we worked together for a long time, our lackadaisical attitude created more misunderstandings. We will show you ourselves working well with each other in the future, through this opportunity.”

Star Empire concluded, “We would like to apologize once more to all those who love ZE:A and Star Empire for causing you to worry and be anxious.”

On September 22nd The Fact released an exclusive report stating that f(x)'s Luna is currently dating a non-celebrity man.

According to the report, the two were spotted at around 9am kst on September 21st at a bus stop in Hongje-dong, Seodaemu, Seoul. Both of them were seen having natural physical contact to each other as the guy was wrapping his hand around Luna' shoulder and back while she was laughing to prevent her from falling. In particular, both of them were dressing in casual clothes and also Luna didn't cover her face, she was hardly recognized and it made them look like a normal couple even more.

Regarding the report, SM Entertainment denied the two are dating each other and said, "He's just her childhood friend and they were on the way to a church together".

Hyoyeon’s Ex-Boyfriend Gets Involved in a Brawl, Hyoyeon Reported to be Present at the Scene

On September 22, a representative of the police department in Seoul Yongsan revealed to The Fact, “On the night of September 21, Mr. Kim [Hyoyeon’s ex-boyfriend] got involved in a physical altercation with acquaintance ‘A’ at a party they were attending. Assessing the circumstances, we are presuming that Hyoyeon was also present at the scene.”

According to the police, Mr. Kim and Mr. ‘A’ are both being charged with assault on each other resulting from a brawl while in a drunken state. Currently, they have both been booked with detention and are summoned for questioning regarding the case.

With regards to this incident, SM Entertainment stated, “We are unable to confirm whether Hyoyeon was present at the scene of the brawl, as it is her personal life.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Kim has a history of reporting the Girls’ Generation member to the police for assaulting him earlier this year in March. This apparently occurred when their playing around got a little out of hand. However, at the time, SM Entertainment argued against this report of assault and stated, “It was a misunderstanding that occurred between Hyoyeon and her acquaintances as they were playing around at the scene.” Hyoyeon was later acquitted of the assault charges. With that incident, Hyoyeon’s two-year relationship with Mr. Kim was revealed to the public. The two met through mutual acquaintances and gradually entered a relationship. After a long dating period, the two have been estimated to have broken up around April.

Writing new history for concerts in Korea, Super Junior became the first Korean group to hold a total of 100 concerts for a world tour.

Nicknamed the hallyu kings, Super Junior held its 100th Super Show 6 on September 21 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium. Super Junior began the Super Show in 2008 and set a new record with a total of 100 shows with the September 21 concert.

‘The Days’ began in 1992, at the Office of the Presidential Security at the Blue House. Jeong-hak, who has become a guard at the Blue House, meets ‘Moo-yeong’, a free-spirited fellow guard. As the two best new guards at the Blue House, Jeong-hak and Moo-yeong form a friendship, sometimes as buddies and sometimes as rivals. Facing the Korea-China diplomatic ties, their first duty is to protect a woman whose identity they do not know. Then one day, ‘she’ disappears, and so does Moo-yeong.

Traces of ‘The Days’ are discovered in 2012. Commemorative celebration of the 20 Years of Korea-China Diplomatic Ties is in progress at the Blue house, when urgent news is delivered to Jeong-hak, who is now the head guard: The president’s daughter Hannah and her bodyguard Dae-sik have disappeared, just like ‘The Days’ 20 years ago. Super Junior appeared on the 9/13 broadcast of MC's Show! Music Core and performed their new track MAMACITA.

That day they went on stage with dandy suits and peformed.

Ah, I found the article here. I saw the broadcast today and wanted to say something. Kyuhyun's high notes went up really well and cleanly, they went up magnificently and luxuriously even in a song that isn't too lyrical (t/n: saying that Mamacita isn't necessarily a stunning composition). The sound was really good. It sounds like an upgrade from even his great ballad covers from before. Lately when I listen to the new album it sounds like his technique has gotten even better. My ears are luxuriating in it.

Kyuhyun's singing shines more when he sings live ^^ the sound itself is different ~~~ really great!

I saw the live today. His adlibs were good, they really felt like musical improvisation (t/n: the kind of skilled adlibs you see in musicals) and were really good. His tone got even richer too...and he was carefully losing the weight (t/n: in his voice, talking more about sluggishness than real weight; it's praising his vocal agility). He controls it well -- he is a nine-year veteran after all.

CRAYON POP POSTPONES ALBUM RELEASE DATE; ANNOUNCES SUB-UNIT DEBUT

Initially set to be making a comeback with the release of their first full-length album, Crayon Pop’s return has been postponed. Fear not, however, as the members will be returning with a sub-unit debut instead!

On September 23rd, Chrome Entertainment confirmed that members from the group will be forming a sub-unit and will embark on promotional activities next month. The sub-unit is expected to show a different side of the girls and will portray a unique charm for the members.

The agency further explained the delay in the group’s first full-length album release, which was originally due to come out next month.

According to Chrome Entertainment, “Since it’s the first album, we are committed in working and improving the quality of the songs, including their title track.” After considering several factors such as their concept, album preparation and modifications overall, they have decided that it was necessary to postpone the album release.
