Q: It has been 900 days since your debut right? Congratulations! What is one thing that has changed since the beginning of your debut?

MH: It has became less taxing on our mind and bodies. We felt tired everyday during our promotions after our debut as our lifestyles changed all of a sudden.

IH: Everything felt a little rushed when we were rookies, but now it feels as though we’re the ones chasing after things now as we lay down our goals and try to match up to them.

Q: Your relationship seems really close looking at how you all chat endlessly and joke around all the time.

EK: We have never fought with each other. Other than Minhyuk and I, all the other members have only one year difference from each other and they all seem to respect and give in to each other because of that.

IH: Eunkwang hyung is the secret to our close relationship. Although he looks timid and careful to others, he says everything he needs to.

CS: Recently he writes down the points he wants to talk to us about on his iPad. It goes something like “Point 1, it would be better if xx doesn’t do this in the future.” Without saying the members immediately agree to their mistakes and agrees to change.

SJ: Hyung worries all day long. Things like what if the member gets hurt from it, how should I phrase it nicely, how should i talk to this member about it. Which is why the person listening to it has no choice but to reflect and think about what they have done. As I’m the magnae, there are times where I would complain and say, “Hyung, I don’t want to!” and even during times like this, hyung still also be very comfortable with it.

P: You can only say no to people whom you like isn’t it.

Q: Although we can see Eunkwang on various show, it seems as though your self esteem has increased a lot.

EK: It’s because I am the main vocal of the group and that singing is my prop. Even if people joke about my appearance when they compare me with people like Sungjae on rare occasions where I appear on variety programs, I would just agree with it and destroy my own image even more. Sungjae and I play completely different roles and I feel that it is enough as long as I can keep my position. (Q: I keep having this feeling, did you always have such dynamic expressions and huge gestures?) Yes! It has been like this since I was young.

Q: Your comeback is just around the corner. What type of song is your title song?

EK: It is about a guy who gives his all to the person he loves, a song about one’s touching confession. There is an exciting performance element to the song and is quite similar to “Beep Beep”.

MH: We are going to stick to the ‘bad boy’ image.

SJ: We have tried songs like ‘Thriller’ too, pretending to be cool doesn’t go very well with us.

(Q: What is your goal for your comeback this time?)

P: To at least be a number 1 contender!

EK: We managed to make it to the top 3 the other time so it would be even better if we can get number one this time. However it would have been better if we were able to crystallise our colours during ‘Beep Beep”. Then at least when we release our next song, people would be able to go “Oh, isn’t this BTOB?”.

Q: Speaking of that, BTOB’s performance during last spring’s Immortal Song was one of my personal favourite.

EK: You’re talking about “Bright Full Moon”? Ah, it was interesting wasn’t it?!

HS: I changed the song together with the hyungs, we added a little rock element in the song and performed with the band as the atmosphere during of our performance is very important. It was extremely nerve racking. Especially when I was playing the piano as I was afraid to make any mistakes.

Q: Did the members participate in the writing of any songs for this album?

HS: Firstly, there is a song which I wrote alone. It is a song sang by the 4 members in the vocal line, the lyrics has contents along the lines of a man not knowing why he is eating or working when the girl he loves isn’t around anymore. Although I tried writing the title song, it didn’t turn out very well. There is also a song that Ilhoon and I wrote together. (Q: You participated in Hyuna’s recent solo album too. How does it feel to write songs for others?) I am just carrying out activities as an idol, I don’t think that I have also became a song writer. I have asked myself what I wanted as I was talking to Hyuna. Starting from the rough sketch if I were to like the song I would move on to the next stage of writing the song. To be honest, it is difficult to write songs for BTOB. It’s not just one person but having to take note of each and every member’s colour, everything is difficult even when it comes to separating parts of everyone.

Q: Hyunsik performed with his dad recently during the 50th anniversary of Im Ji Hoon’s radio program 밤을 잊은 그대에게?

HS: I was really happy as it was a performance that I dreamt of everyday. Even though I have always played the guitar with my father and brother in the past, this is the first time playing next to my dad on stage. We didn’t practice and just played according to our feelings. (Q: You have tweeted that you would like to be your parent’s son even if you ever to be born again. It seems like you are very close to your family?) We met yesterday too. Even my brother whom has been studying in Japan was there too. My dad uploaded a photo of a flower he took when he was cycling in our family chatting room sometime back.

Q: I heard that Ilhoon and Hyunsik wrote a song together.

IH: The song has a little rock feel in the electro disco element. This is the first time we are trying this music style. We made it for fun initially but I was more satisfied that I thought. I feel that people would be able to feel the same way too. The lyrics goes something like “People of all ages gather here, let’s have fun together.”

Q: Just now, Eunkwang said that Ilhoon was the member who has grown the most after debut.

EK: Ilhoon ah, I said that your rapping skills got better! I suddenly thought of our debut period as I was listening to Ilhoon’s rap the other time. I am really proud of him as he has improved a lot be it his rapping or lyrics writing skills.

IH: I wanted have dignity as a rapper. Our vocal line does exceptionally well so the rap line has to work hard too. I searched for Eminem, Drake and Lil Wayne’s videos in order to find better ways to express what i see, hear, and feel.

Q: Currently Peniel doesn’t have much individual schedules, do you have any interest to be featured in songs too?

P: I want to be featured in songs, I want to try acting and variety as well. However for variety shows, I always wonder “Is it alright for me to do this in Korea?” and be extremely careful with my actions. It doesn’t matter what how people see you in America and you don’t really look at people’s expressions when you do things. However over here, you have to put thoughts into everything you do and it feels a little stressful. (Q: Did you make a lot of friends here?) I have friends who came from other countries like Cclown’s Rome, f(x)’s Amber, Got7’s Mark, Jackson and Bambam. I came to know about Got7’s members prior to their debut when I was in JYP.

Q: Changsub is still attending school right?

CS: I always make sure to attend school when there are no schedules, otherwise I would be sure to submit official documents. I initially submitted my employment report, however it didn’t work out due to some insurance issue… and also as I didn’t gather enough class hours and got an F grade in Midi Harmonics module so I had a hard time re-registering for the module. Other than that I just attend school like any other normal student. I like it that I feel comfortable going to school.

Q: I got a shock when you suddenly ran out of the studio saying you need to get coffee.

CS: It’s an unavoidable situation. If there is something I want to eat I would get it myself. I feel that that is the right way to do things, you dont have to wait for it and you won’t feel bad having to trouble someone else. (Q: It seems like you like coffee?) We have an automatic coffee machine in our practice room! (Q: Are there any special activities recently?) I am living in my own world making Gundam models recently. I smoothen them delicately and even paste the small stickers personally. There are 7 boxes piled up, but I can’t do it over a long time. Just making one hand is tiring.

Q: Sportsdol Minhyuk is building a house of love. “I’m talking about “Eco Village Enjoyable Home”.

MH: It was really difficult even for me. Wa. It was really beyond my imaginations during the early stages! It gradually got better after the foundation of the building was built. (Q: You exercise diligently, work hard on building houses, what else do you work hard on?) I have been studying Japanese diligently since 2-3 month ago. I look at vocabulary lists all day long so now i think I have memorised around 1000 words.

This image is hilarious but also adorable. I'm glad they admitted that Thriller wasn't them. The song wasn't bad it just felt odd, kinda like when Boyfriend suddenly made a 180 and started promoting darker songs.
