Recall that 2NE1 had a mini-concert not too long ago at the Youngdeungpo Times Square in Seoul. Speculations ran rampant that 2NE1 were part of the new season of the American version of ABC’s ‘The Bachelor‘ (average rating 8.8 million in total viewers ). In recent articles discussing the new ‘Bachelor’, Juan Pablo, ABC News confirmed that 2NE1 will appear in an upcoming episode.

Actors Jung Woo and Kim Woo Bin’s stars are rising. The two are said to be highly sought-after by the movie industry these days.
Both these actors are receiving love calls from Chungmuro (Korea’s “Hollywood”), and both are currently appearing on screens with popular shows- Jung Woo in tvN’s Friday-Saturday drama “Reply 1994” and Kim Woo Bin with his movie “Friend 2” and SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Heirs.”
According to a film industry insider, these two are young actors who are currently enjoying a meteoric rise in popularity. Movies in their planning and pre-production stages with screenplays circulating in the film industry are competing to cast these two. Jung Woo and Kim Woo Bin are said to have received approximately 20 casting offers.

When Kim Ye Rim guested on QTV’s Pretty Boy Communication on December 3, she shared her thoughts on revealing her dates on broadcast.
“I want to do something that any ordinary girl in her twenties does, such as date,” said Kim Ye Rim. When MCs asked her if she wants to keep her future boyfriend a secret or be open about it, she answered, “Yoon Jong Shin (her label ceo) gave me permission to reveal my future boyfriend.”

It’s been recently revealed that the model-turned actor, Kim Young Gwang will be enlisting in the army, serving as public service worker.
On December 5, Newsen spoke with Kim Young Gwang’s agency, who stated, “Kim Young Gwang will be enlisting in mid-December and will serve as a public service worker. He has currently completed filming for his upcoming movie, Boil Youth. He won’t able to participate in movie promotions in January, but will do his best in the army.”
According to Korean laws, Kim Young Gwang will be serving as a public service worker as his father was a level 3 man of national merit after serving in the Vietnam War.
The agency staff said, “Kim Young Gwang’s father is a Vietnam War veteran, who passed away due to the aftereffects of the war when Kim Young Gwang was in elementary school. So Kim Young Gwang will be serving as a public service worker for about six months.”
Meanwhile, Kim Young Gwang showed impressive acting in his most recent work, KBS’ Good Doctor. He finished filming for the movie Boil Youth and also made surprise appearance on MBC’s Infinity Challenge for the Milano special.

Not really caring what people say about her, SISTAR’s Hyolyn confidently admitted to getting double eyelid surgery.
On December 4’s broadcast of MBC’s Radio Star, Hyolyn brought up the topic of plastic surgery, which she mentioned during her last visit to the show.
However, Hyolyn said that the episode was edited out to make it seem like she was denying plastic surgery rumors.
“I also went on a different show before Radio Star and truthfully talked about my double eyelid surgery, but even then, it was all edited out,” said Hyolyn. “Now people are saying that I’m admitting it now because there are proof pictures.”
Hyolyn talked about how frustrated she felt when she’s been telling the truth the entire time.
Kyuhyun then joked saying they’ll be editing this conversation out as well.

Consistently giving to those who need aid, Shinhwa’s Kim Dong Wan donated 30 million won to help the victims in the Philippines.
On December 4, UNICEF shared that Kim Dong Wan sent in 30,000,000 won for the Philippines relief fund after one of the worst typhoons in history hit the country.
After hearing about the unfortunate events that occurred in the Philippines, Kim Dong Wan began to search for many ways to help, in the end choosing UNICEF to donate to.
This isn’t the first time the Shinhwa member has donated to help out. He has given 10 million won in 2003 to help victims of a tragic subway disaster, 12 million won to children with cancer, 10 million won to flood victims, 20 million won in 2008 to Sichuan earthquake victims, 12 million won in 2010 to residents after the Yeonpyeongdo attacks, and 30 million won in 2012 to Korea’s surviving comfort women.
It was also reported that Kim Dong Wan sent 30 million to his previous manager, who first scouted Kim Dong Wan, after finding out that the manager was having a hard time financially.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong Wan is currently acting in the musical Le Passe Muraille.

MBC to present a new variety show next year named "4 Men 1 Woman".
It was revealed that the cast will include Kim Gura, Kim Min Jong, Kim Jae Won and former basketball player Seo Jang Hoon. The first female guest of the show will be former Miss Korea Honey Lee, and there will be a different female guest every episode.
According to the official, the cast will act as "four sons and 1 daughter" who travel to countrysides for 5 days and 4 nights to help elderly people who live alone. A representative said,"We are preparing to show you a different form of family entertainment show so please give us lots of support and stay tuned".
The show is scheduled to air on January 2014.

K-pop’s jewel vocalist Kim Junsu will reinterpret songs of 1990s’ most beloved K-pop folk rock singer.
Kim Junsu is set to sing songs of the late Kim Kwang-seok, the ‘90s folk rock legend who passed away in 1996 at the age of 31, in a special album to memorize the 50th birth anniversary of the K-pop legend.
According to NEW, the producing company of Junsu’s upcoming musical “December: A Never Ending Song” (translated title), the special album will filled with Kim Kwang-seok’s songs about our lives and youth.
The songs, which will also be reinterpreted through the big-scale musical inspired from Kim Kwang-seok’s music, will deliver Junsu’s charm as a talented musical actor, also the lead actor of the musical.
The JYJ member, who takes on main character Ji-wook, will sing from Kim Gwang-seok’s unleashed song “December,” his hit tunes “Letter of A Private,” “Too Painful Love Wasn’t Love,” “In The Name of Love” to a newly-arranged version of Ji-wook’s theme song.
Co-starring actor Park Gun-hyung, “December: A Never Ending Song” will open its curtains at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul from December 16 to January 29 next year.

Korean star couple Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon will raise their voices to promote unconventional wedding.
The celebrity couple will appear in EBS’s environmental show “Only One Earth” , which will hit air on Friday 8:50 p.m. KST, the channel said on Thursday.
In the preview of the show, Mr. and Mrs. Lee unveiled their views on wedding ceremony and the reason of their unusual wedding held at a small villa located in the Jeju Island this September.
“Every time I go to a wedding hall, the ceremony ended in half an hour and the couple don’t even know who were there to bless them. I felt that kind of wedding is so vain that I wanted to do it in a different way in the future,” said the K-pop star.
She went on that, “We did everything about the wedding by ourselves, which make the ceremony unforgettable than any others. I hope that kind of ‘free’ wedding would be more popular.”
The husband also agreed, saying that he wanted to be able to talk more with close friends during the wedding.
“I wanted to have a ceremony that did not push the time limit,” he said.

SBS’s teenage romcom series “The Inheritors” has been sold to Japan with the highest selling price of this year.
Hwa and Dam Pictures, the producing company of “The Inheritors,” told that the star-studded drama has been sold to Japan as the highest selling price among Korean dramas ever sold to Japan this year.
The drama producing firm added that it is also in the last stage of selling distribution rights to numerous countries in Asia, Europe and America. A total of 13 countries have signed the copyright agreement.
Hwa and Dam earlier sold the airing rights of the 20-part TV romantic comedy to local cable channels with the highest-ever price.
“The attention to ‘The Inheritors’ is enormous in Korea as well as overseas. The VOD services through websites, IPTVs and Home Choices have also been great in its demands,” an official with Hwa and Dam Pictures said.
Starring Lee Min-ho, Park Shin-hye, Kim Woo-bin and Krystal of f(x), “The Inheritors” has been attracting more and more drama lovers especially after its former competitor “Secret Love” ended its run three weeks ago.

2NE1’s leader CL revealed that she was offered roles on Hollywood movies.
On December 5, 2NE1 appeared as guest on the “Big Star Special Show” segment of SBS Power FM’s “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time.”
During the show, CL disclosed, “I received a few casting offers for Hollywood films, but I turned them down.” She added her explanation saying, “It doesn’t feel like I’ve established anything significant musically. I want to concentrate on 2NE1 and on my solo activities. But if opportunities arise in the future, I would take on the challenge.”
Meanwhile, the members of 2NE1 have been actively promoting their new song “Missing You.” They are topping various music charts for the third consecutive week. 2NE1 also won first place on MBC’s “Music Core” and SBS’ “Inkigayo” last week.

Korean idol star Lee Joon of group MBLAQ has put off starring in his second-ever movie after his debut movie “Rough Play.”
An official with Lee Joon’s agency J.Tune Camp told TenAsia on Monday that the singer had step off from upcoming Korean movie, tentatively titled “Botox,” due to the delay of its filming which was originally set to last month.
“As we had mentioned preconditions that Lee is scheduled to be back with his music work, we couldn’t do anything about the delayed filming schedule,” said an official at the group’s agency yesterday, according to local media reports.
The official added that Lee Joon is prepping up for a new record of MBLAQ, set to roll out next January, as the follow up to their fifth mini-album “Sexy Beat” released this June.
The 26-year-old star has also received scenarios of renowned directors Ryu Seung-wan’s upcoming film “Veteran” and Lim Sang-soo’s “No Today for Us” (both translated titles), both of which have possibilities of Lee’s next film project.
Opposite to actress Park Jin-hee, Lee was supposed to take on 21-year-old boy named Gun-ni, who falls in love with 42-year-old would-be writer named Young-sook in “Botox.”

As expected, Hyorin’s solo single, “One Way Love,” has taken the top spot on the Gaon chart in its first week out. The SISTAR superstar dethrones last week’s chart-topper, 2NE1′s “Missing You,” which slips one spot to No. 2. The point difference between the two songs is minimal, proving that 2NE1 are actually showing some real staying power with “Missing You” — something that their last two singles didn’t do.

Boom (real name: Lee Min Ho), Andy (Shinhwa), and comedian Yang Sae Hyung have been charged with fines after being investigated for illegal gambling not too long ago.
On November 28, at the Seoul Central District Court, Boom and Andy were charged with fines of 5,000,000 won ($4700). Yang Sae Hyung, who gambled relatively smaller amounts, was charged with a fine of 3,000,000 won ($2800).
These three were not charged with quite as much as Tak Jae Hoon, Lee Soo Geun, or Tony Ahn, who had been investigated at the same time, as they didn’t bet nearly as much money. Andy had gambled around 44,000,000 won ($41,500), Boom 33,000,000 won ($31,000), and Yang Sae Hyung 26,000,000 won ($24,500), and they received the normal gambling fine, which is usually less than 10,000,000 won ($9,400). However, Lee Soo Geun gambled over 1,000,000,000 won ($942,000), and Tak Jae Hoon and Tony Ahn gambled over 400,000,000 won ($377,000), and they were charged with common practice.
On this, each celebrity’s agency said that they haven’t yet received notice from the court, and that they are deeply in self-reflection and regret, but they otherwise didn’t say much.
Tak Jae Hoon, Lee Soo Geun, and Tony Ahn’s first trial will be taking place on December 6 at the Seoul Central District Court.

Jae Hyo, a member of boy group Block B, filed a police report after being sexually harassed by a netizen.
According to a representative of Block B’s agency, Seven Seasons, “Jae Hyo was recently sexually harassed by a netizen through his/her mention of his name on his/her Twitter. The content is at a severe level that it is unrepeatable. Thus, we decided to report the incident to the team exclusively in charge of handling sexual violence at the Seoul Yongsan Police Department.”
The representative added, “The content was so severe, and we had no choice but to report it. The netizen who posted it hacked the ID, and we requested for the police’s help in tracking down the culprit.”
As far as the progress of the investigation, the representative disclosed, “The investigation has just begun. We will be cooperating with the police investigation and will decide what action to take after the investigation is over.”

Underground R&B singer Shin Bo-kyung, better known as Boni, says K-pop's rise has fueled the departure of underground musicians to the trendy music scene in an attempt to earn money and fame easily.

For Shin Bo-kyung, music is her life.
Born to a hair dresser mother, also a music buff, the 27-year-old spent much of her childhood listening to various kinds of music at her mom’s salon with a broken microphone in one hand.
Her inherent musical talent, especially in rhythm and blues (R&B), was recognized in 2006 by now-defunct duo band 015B, which set the stage for Shin to debut that year with the R&B song “Lost My Way for a Bit.” Having released a debut full-length album in 2010, she is currently studying postmodern music at Kyung Hee University.
In a recent interview with The Korea Times, the underground R&B soloist, better known by her stage name Boni, said her wish in life is to work and play with music rooted in the Western gospel tradition. But she said it’s becoming increasingly doubtful whether her wish will come true.

At 'Prime Minister and I' press conference on December 4th, Yoon Si Yoon talked about his addiction in reading books.
When he was asked,"Yoon Si Yoon is known as a person who reads many books, to prepare for this drama what kind of books have you read?", he answered,"I study about young politicians. But because of the filming schedule so I haven't read much, I usually read during my break time"

Earlier in November, it was revealed that G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don were “Going to Try” for the “Best Couple Award.”
The prediction became a reality on December 5 when the 2013 MBC Broadcast Entertainment Awards nominations were revealed and the Hyung Yong Don Jyong couple made it on the list.
Under the category for “Best Couple” are Yoon Hoo and Song Jia for “Daddy! Recently graduated from Seoul’s Hongik University in her native South Korea, JeeYoung Lee shoots the invisible. Whereas traditional photography submits extracts of reality to our eyes, the artist offers excerpts from her heart, her memory, or her dreams. Restrained by the inherent limits of the conventional photographic medium, she adds plastic creativity and theatrical performance to it, in order to blow life into her immense needs of expression, and interrogation.
For weeks , sometimes months, she creates the fabric of a universe born from her mind within the confines of her 3 x 6 m studio. She does so with infinite minutiae and extraordinary patience, in order to exclude any ulterior photographic alteration. Thus materialised, these worlds turn real and concretise : imagination reverts to the tangible and the photo imagery of such fiction testify as to their reality. In the midst of each of these sets stands the artist : those self-portraits however are never frontal, since it is never her visual aspect she shows, but rather her quest for an identity, her desires and her frame of mind. Her imaginary is a catharsis which allows her to accept social repression and frustrations. The moment required to set the stage gives her time to meditate about the causes of her interior conflicts and hence exorcise them; once experienced, they in turn become portents of hope.
Recipient of multiple artistic awards including the Sovereign Art Prize (2012), JeeYoung Lee is one the the most promising up-and-rising figureheads of the younger Korean artistic world. Her Photographs have already found their way into public collections such as th Kyoto Photographic Museum in Japan, the Incheon Foundation for Art and Culture, or even Seoul’s OCI Museum.
