At 'Prime Minister and I' press conference on December 4th, Yoon Si Yoon talked about his addiction in reading books.

When he was asked,"Yoon Si Yoon is known as a person who reads many books, to prepare for this drama what kind of books have you read?", he answered,"I study about young politicians. But because of the filming schedule so I haven't read much, I usually read during my break time"

He also added,"I love reading, it makes me relax. I think I'm addicted to it. If I don't have anything to read I will feel agitated. So that's why I have a bad eyesight".

His co-actors also impressed with his habit. Ryu Jin said,"Even on filming set he read many books. This is the first time I saw someone like him. He also knows by heart all of his lines in the script. It seems he read the script at least 100 times, he takes notes on every little details"

Chae Jung Ahn said,"If other men are addicted to drinking, smoking and coffee, then Yoon Si Yoon is addicted to reading books"

In addition, "Prime Minister and I" will be aired on December 9th on KBS2.

I'm currently reading Angels and Demons... Yeah, yeah, I probably get that WHAT YOU JUST STARTED READING IT thingy from everyone but yeah... I got it for my birthday present and everyone's pushing me to read it. I've watched the movie six times already but just started the book. I love it so much! Just a bit weirded out how the movie's damn different from the book.

My all-time fav book is Sophie's World! What about you guys? :D Share your favs with me! :D

Sophie's World was in the reading list for a compulsory philosophy class back in my college days, so basically the whole campus had to read it. I think I skipped some of the theories, LOL. But the story was really good.

Two of my all time faves are Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake and The Handmaid's Tale.

My study notes. Yipee.

However, rather than studying on my hour long bus rides to and from campus, I got the time to reread Ender's Game and also read the (kind of) sequel Ender In Exile. Seeing the movie reminded me of how much I love the series, so much that I decided to finally read the sequel, which has then made me adamant to reading Bean's story and all the others. While I wait to receive these books, I'm rereading The Outsiders and We Need To Talk About Kevin.

We Need to Talk About Kevin is on my To Read list. I watched the movie and thought it was very interesting. What did you think of the book?

OP thank you for making a Shi Yoon post!! I think it's so endearing that reading is his hobby! He is flawless!

As for what I'm reading, I'm waiting for my semester to finish up before I start anything new. I have a few books downloaded, but I think the next one on my list to read was "North and South". The last book I finished reading was "Little Women". It was my first time reading it and I LOVED it! I'm kind of tempted just to re-read it!

I love that he is a book worm. :D

I got an e-reader for my birthday in April and I think I actually have been reading non-stop since. I feel like I am back in my element because I had stopped reading for a long time. I think I was just in a big slump. Sad days, yo.

Right now I'm reading A Dance with Dragons. And then I will have to wait for the rest of the Song and Ice and Fire series like everyone else. Not looking forward to it, lol. But afterwards, I think I am either going to read The Tale of Genji or Yukio Mishima's Sea of Fertility series. I am in the mood for Japanese literature. I also have a copy of Catcher in the Rye I want to read as well as I've never read it except for part of the first chapter once in high school (it was laying on a desk and I read a bit before class started).

Last book I completed was a terrible and yet highly addictive super girly book called "Crash Into You" by Katie McGarry. It is probably one of the best "bad" teen lits I've read. actually it's the third of a series and i read them all i dunno why urgh i actually really like her writing okay urgh.

Last novel I read was Vladimir Nabokov's "Laughter in the Dark", one of his precursors to "Lolita". Very very good.

I think Shiyoon reading is so super attractive, especially because reading is so rare in Korea. He's basically super precious, and I want to marry him <3.

I mostly read scifi/fantasy and YA. Right now, I'm reading "The Golem and the Jinni" It's definitely something fresh and new in my opinion!

Uh... as of about five minutes ago, Mathematical Statistics with Applications by Wackerly, Mendenhall, and Scheaffer... and Tombstone: The Great Chinese Famine by Yang Jisheng when I have time... which was about half a year ago. I love to read so much and it kills me that I haven't had the energy for it lately.

But, yes, Yoon Shi Yoon, your reading habits are just another reason to like you, you adorable, adorable man.

Adding this to my long list of reasons as to why I love him <3 I'm like reading 3 books right now, A Tale For The Time Being (Ruth Ozeki), Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore & The Room With A View. I just finished Dance Dance Dance by Murakami which I loved. Also, can I take this moment to say that my teacher told me to get a new book to read in class because Murakami was too mature/inappropriate for me but then she ignores someone who's reading fifty shades....

From: [identity profile] hippodameia.livejournal.com
Whaaat? Murakami's too inappropriate? How old are you? You can't be that young. I read some of his stuff when I was like 15 or 16. I still really like him and his books a lot.

Last book i read was mindy kaling's is everyone hanging out without me? (And other concerns). I had to stop myself from lol irl cause i tend to read while on the bus.

Just watched the prime minister and I's cast episode on happy together and im bummed to find out it looks like YSY wont be giving variety another try. YSY giving up on variety because his first attempt was a mess, was the only thing i worried about Barefoot Friends. Ugh. That show. YSY talks a lot and seems to enjoy entertaining so it's sad that we'll all miss out on that now.

if you like reading long books, read bolano's 3666. i'd recommend a visit from the goon squad too. it's just one of the best writing i've ever read. jonathan strange & mr. norrell is a good fantasy book too. i like reading the freakanomics books too.

Yoon Shiyoon is a perfect qt <3 I've loved him ever since I watched Me Too, Flower, he was fantastic.

I used to read a lot of YA Lit, but don't so much any more ever since the Twilight spin offs have been dominating the shelves. I like the premise of vampire/werewolf/fallen angel romance as much as the next girl, but so many of them are done so badly. I was in a bookstore earlier today, picked up a book by the author of the Fallen Series and was wholly turned off by page 10. They're practically all the same. Reader stand in meets damaged/otherworldly boy, a lot of push and pull, maybe some violence all cocooned in a non-plot that blatantly sets up for a series. I can't be arsed to actively research books nowadays just to make sure I won't be pissed off by the end of the novel. Though the last great YA Lit book I read was The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. That was brilliant. And the Sarah Dessen novels on the whole tend to be better than worse.

Harlequin romance novels comprise the main bulk of my recreational reading nowadays. If anyone's interested in supernatural romance I cannot recommend Kresley Cole's books enough, her Immortals After Dark series and even her YA series Arcana Chronicles are really great reads with fantastic plots. She's prolific too, a new book in each series every year so you're never left hanging for long. And for anyone who's ever read Fifty Shades of Grey and found the premise interesting, Tiffany Reisz's The Original Sinners series does it all so, so much better. Her writing style is just exquisite.

Also late but I'm finally reading Diary of Anne Frank and it's one of the most heartbreaking books I've ever read. It's makes me misty eyed constantly.
