2PM Celebrates 5 Years’ Activities with Fans

K-pop group 2PM has looked back on their 5-year career and marked a new start with dedicated local fans.

The idol group held their third-ever Korea fan meeting with 3,000 fans of their official fan club HOTTEST at Kyunghee University’s Peace Palace in Seoul, Korea on Sunday, according to their agency JYP Entertainment’s press release Monday.

Entering on a red carpet rolled out among the audience, the six 2PM members who are busy with their individual activities reunited for the first time in a while and took a good look at their past five years with fans through a video containing their various activities.

Then “The Hottest Awards” followed in fun appreciation of 2PM members’ hard work. While the boys made fun of themselves by handing out crowns and shoulder bands like a beauty pageant, Taecyeon received the Best Dancer award for his numerous shirt-ripping performances on stage and a white sleeveless T-shirts as an additional prize.

The grand prize went to the fanclub HOTTEST, who have given endless support to the six-member group for five years. 2PM, a K-pop boy band with a huge followings around the world, marked their fifth debut anniversary last Thursday.

Continuing their individual activities in and out of Korea, the group is set to hold their first Japan fan club event “Yazoo” at the first stadium of National Gymnasia for the Tokyo Olympics in Tokyo, Japan this weekend.

2PM held quite a special 3rd fanmeeting called 'The HOTTEST Awards'!

The boys celebrated the 'awards' with 3,000 fans. The fanmeeting was special because it was a mock 'awards' ceremony where the boys were able to look back on their past 5 years and even received awards!

The boys started off with the red carpet, and because it's been a while since the boys were in one place, they made the fans laugh by formally greeting each other. The boys received 'Best Proud', 'Best Dancer' 'Best Actor', 'Best Beast', 'Best Featuring', 'Achievement Award', 'The Award HOTTEST wants to give 2PM', and the 'Daesang'.

The 'Best Proud' award went to the moment the boys were the most proud of, which was 2PM's first concert. Taecyeon got the 'Best Dancer' award for ripping through an uncountable number of shirts during dance performances. 'Best Actor' went to Nichkhun who pretended to play the violin.

Everyone laughed when balloons received the 'Achievement Award', because 2PM's stage had been overflown with balloons at the MBC Gayo Daejaejun. As for the awards that fans were giving 2PM, Jun.K received the 'Cajun salad PR award', Nichkhun got the 'Statue award', Taecyeon got 'The Brave Man award', Wooyoung got the 'Embarassment Award', Junho got the 'Dotted Line award', and Chansung received the 'Shocking! Hairstyle award'.

The Daesang went over to none other than HOTTEST. 2PM said, "We had a really meaningful time by looking back on our past with our fans. We were able to feel our fans' love, who have always supported us for the past 5 years. We'll become a 2PM who keeps working hard and stays by HOTTEST's side and loves each other. Thank you."

G-Dragon: “WIN hoobaes will be on my stage”…why?

G-Dragon has expressed that he wishes for the WIN trainees of YG Entertainment to join him on his stages, drawing many people’s attention.

According to G-Dragon, he said, “I want the WIN trainees to appear on the stage with me for my solo performances.”

For him, the reason is so that the trainees will gain experience and practice in their performing skills.

Just before their official debut in 2006, Big Bang also stood on stage with Se7en, YG’s most popular artist at the time, in his concert as well as having their own survival documentary also.

Just like how Se7en allowed G-Dragon to stand in front of an audience in his concert, G-Dragon would like to extend that same great opportunities to the WIN trainees as well.

Officials from YG commented, “We were also surprised by the extraordinary amount of caring that G-Dragon has for his hoobaes.” “As of right now, there’s no confirmed date of when the WIN hoobaes will perform with G-Dragon for his solo stage, but we will decide when that will take place as soon as the doctor checks up.”

Tao, Woohyun and Sungyeol revealed to have suffered minor injuries while filming ISAC

We can't say we didn't see this coming with the competitive nature of this event, but EXO's Tao and INFINITE's Woohyun and Sungyeol were revealed to have suffered minor injuries while filming the 'Idol StarAthletics Championship'.

According to reps at the scene at Goyang Stadium, Gyeonggido on September 3, Tao injured his back while competing in the high-jump challenge. It's said he hit his back the wrong way while he was jumping. His fellow members escorted him out to receive treatment, and Tao later returned and assured fans that he was alright.

Woohyun and Sungyeol also injured their chin and back when playing in the futsal [indoor soccer match] games while getting competitive and bumping into people.

INFINITE's agency calmed worried fans who heard the news by responding, "Thankfully, it wasn't a big injury. They only slipped slightly, it's not something that fans need to worry about."

Hopefully, the rest of the idol stars got through the filming safe-and-sound!

YG Entertainment to Set Up Corporation with China’s Huanya

Top Korean talent agency YG Entertainment will set up a joint corporation with China’s No. 3 cosmetics firm Guangzhou Huanya Cosmetics Technology Co., Ltd.

A press release by YG stated on Wednesday that Yang Min-suk, CEO of YG, took part in a signing ceremony for the establishment of the corporation, with cosmetics manufacturer COSON and Huanya in Guangzhou yesterday.

YG will take part in the establishment in the form of indirect investment through COSON, and COSON and Huanya are set to jointly invest 10 million dollars in the corporation to be set up in Hong Kong.

The new corporation will proceed with a new cosmetics business with each firm utilizing their core abilities: YG, with a number of popular artists including Big Bang and 2NE1, will be in charge of brand marketing; COSON will develop and manufacture cosmetics products, and Huanya will take care of distribution throughout China.

YG’s Yang Min-suk was quoted as saying, “We’re at the point where we’re attempting to integrate YG’s brand, that has become an entertainment business through its artists, with new and various fields.”

YG is also set to launch its first clothing brand in November through a joint venture it established last year with Cheil Industries, an electronic material, chemical and textile unit of the Samsung Group.

On the September 3rd broadcast of 'Lee Hyori's XUnni,' SPICA went on a 'Hell Camp' talk show prepared by Lee Hyori to help them prepare for variety shows.

Ailee appeared as a surprise guest and Lee Hyori asked her what she thinks of SPICA. Ailee answered, "I don't understand why they're not more popular. They all sing well, dance well, and are really pretty."

During the show, Ailee also parodied a famous line from 'Gag Concert' and made others laugh by shouting, "Wait a minute. Hyori unni is going to have a glass of soju!"
Meanwhile, the episode showed the cast heading over to Jeju Island to film SPICA's new music video.

SNSD Releases Details on ‘GALAXY SUPERNOVA’ Advertisement Campaign with Samantha Thavasa

Girls’ Generation’s Japanese website has revealed that the upcoming Japanese single, “GALAXY SUPERNOVA”, will be used in an advertisement campaign for “Samantha Thavasa Jeans”, the very first jeans brand from Samantha Thavasa, a Japanese fashion company. Girls’ Generation will be featured in commercials for Samantha Thavasa with possible projects in the future related to the advertisement campaign.

In addition, Girls’ Generation’s Japanese website has been updated with a “GALAXY SUPERNOVA” theme, a gallery with concept photos, and a preview of the song in the website’s background.

Finally, the music video for “GALAXY SUPERNOVA” will be released today at 12:00 PM JST.

KARA's Hara spilled tears on the most recent episode of 'Radio Star'.

MC Yoon Jong Shin asked Hara, "Which question are you the most scared of?". Hara answered, "You're still going to ask!", and Yoon Jong Shin said, "We'll take that question out." Hara then hesitantly answered, "I don't want to talk about dating."

Yoon Jong Shin then joked, "That's way too broad. We'll just take out one person," to which Hara exploded, "I don't have any! Why do you keep doing that to me?". Yoon Jong Shin answered, "It's because if we take out the 'dating' category when we talk to girl groups, then we can't talk about a bulk of things."

Kyuhyun then added, "She's the dating-dol." Hara glared at him and said, "What?", and Kyuhyun meekly replied, "Dating-dol...", to which Hara shoved her drink in his direction. MC Kim Kuk Jin then said, "So everything is okay as long as we don't talk about dating?", and she said, "Yes. It's because when I talk about it, articles get written about it."

MC Kim Gu Ra said, "Once articles keep coming out, people will stop caring so much. But I was wondering, your relationship doesn't seem like it was that passionate?". Hara answered, "As I've said before, our Japanese promotions were very long. That's all I'll say."

As the MCs kept joking, they got to a point where the MCs said, "To pull the cloth over Hara, either Jiyoung or Seungyeon has to date." Hara spoke up immediately and said, "Date! You're already doing it!". When the MCs caught onto her words, she confessed, "I'm just trying to cover myself up."

The conversation continued toward the point where Kyuhyun said, "If I open my mouth, Hara will be over." Hara exploded, burst up and said, "What do you mean, I'll be over?! You can't be 100% confident, either!". Hara got so emotional that she started tearing up, and Kyuhyun said, "I was just joking!". Hara, however, started crying, and said, "I'm really angry."

A Hungarian performer who goes by the name of "Kunu Mário Hivatalos Oldala" put out a song called "Diamond Girl." I couldn't even find a bio for this artist so I guess he's a nugu. Nevertheless, ELFs have taken to the comments section to voice their displeasure but only time will tell if the hashtag #IllegalUseOfSuJusU has any legs.
