Hara starts crying because MC's won't stfu about her dating life

KARA's Hara spilled tears on the most recent episode of 'Radio Star'.

MC Yoon Jong Shin asked Hara, "Which question are you the most scared of?". Hara answered, "You're still going to ask!", and Yoon Jong Shin said, "We'll take that question out." Hara then hesitantly answered, "I don't want to talk about dating."

Yoon Jong Shin then joked, "That's way too broad. We'll just take out one person," to which Hara exploded, "I don't have any! Why do you keep doing that to me?". Yoon Jong Shin answered, "It's because if we take out the 'dating' category when we talk to girl groups, then we can't talk about a bulk of things."

Kyuhyun then added, "She's the dating-dol." Hara glared at him and said, "What?", and Kyuhyun meekly replied, "Dating-dol...", to which Hara shoved her drink in his direction. MC Kim Kuk Jin then said, "So everything is okay as long as we don't talk about dating?", and she said, "Yes. It's because when I talk about it, articles get written about it."

MC Kim Gu Ra said, "Once articles keep coming out, people will stop caring so much. But I was wondering, your relationship doesn't seem like it was that passionate?". Hara answered, "As I've said before, our Japanese promotions were very long. That's all I'll say."

As the MCs kept joking, they got to a point where the MCs said, "To pull the cloth over Hara, either Jiyoung or Seungyeon has to date." Hara spoke up immediately and said, "Date! You're already doing it!". When the MCs caught onto her words, she confessed, "I'm just trying to cover myself up."

The conversation continued toward the point where Kyuhyun said, "If I open my mouth, Hara will be over." Hara exploded, burst up and said, "What do you mean, I'll be over?! You can't be 100% confident, either!". Hara got so emotional that she started tearing up, and Kyuhyun said, "I was just joking!". Hara, however, started crying, and said, "I'm really angry."

ugh, I like Kyuhyun but he was being a mega douche and taking it to far, especially since apparently beforehand he asked Hara if there was something she didn't want to discuss and she said dating, and then he proceeded to keep asking about it. SMH.

Also judging by the comments on netizenbuzz I was expecting Hara to be outright crying and throwing the bottle towards Kyuhyun, like the L and Dongwoo incident, but nope she just pushes the bottle towards him and tries her best to laugh it off for four feckin minutes, before turning around and trying to disguise the fact she was crying. I really can't at the people defending this and making out Hara was in the wrong.

People are taking this way out proportion, It's not the first time someone cries on radio star, and yes such comments are expected to be made on this show, but that doesn't make it okay for them to be acting like this when it's obviously a delicate subject for her lol

Kyuhyun said if he opened his mouth she would be over, implying that he could ruin her career. How is that not an asshole thing to say? The other MCs also started trying to move the topic on but Kyuhyun kept going back to the dating thing, especially when he and Hara agreed not to talk about it on the show. And no, Hara is not over reacting, if you are slut-shamed simply for hanging out with a guy she is well within her rights to not talk about something that makes her uncomfortable and that people will blow out of proportion and, again, imply she is a slut. Kyuhyun wasn't the only one that said assholish things, but he should've known when to stop.

I felt really bad for Hara. All the comments in the Lee Soohyuk scandals must have affected her, netizens are acting as if she started dating him a day after she and Junhyung broke up. Like I don't understand what's the acceptable time between a break up and a new relationship in netizens' eyes? I feel like they're more mad because it's Hara herself, someone's known for her lack of talent and her ps, not because of the time period.

I'm not condoning the show or what happened today, but RS pretty much is a program that pushes people/tries to get them to talk about their scandals. The fact that 'dating's the only thing they can say' about female idols is blatantly sexist, but in Hara's case honestly I think she should've expected some attention to it, especially considering recently.

That being said, I really, really with Kyuhyun would jump the sinking ship that is RS and stick with KBS. This is disappointing. I'm not going to stop stanning him, but I'm not shielding him either.

The thing is it's been a running joke on RS to say things like if I open my mouth you're over, kind of thing. Actually not just RS, but other variety shows. Yoo Jae Suk's said things like that to Kim Je Dong and Ji Suk Jin as well. And Kyuhyun's definitely said things like this before, and there haven't been any problems with it.

The problem with this particular incident was that Kyuhyun and Hara aren't close enough for Hara to notice that it's an obvious joke and an empty threat, and that Hara's gone through so much shit with her dating life - it was certainly not her decision to make her relationship with Junhyung open to public, and she certainly doesn't like getting into scandals with Soohyuk over some friendly dinners. While that's usually a good source of jokes for RS, the MCs did push too far, especially when the guests are still people early in their twenties who are tired of being ripper over same issue, and their topic wasn't really about Junhyung and more about rumors that don't need to be rehashed.

I think Hara's crying wasn't what made it awkward, it was Seungyeon's reply to Kyuhyun about how they hear things too. It suddenly made things much more serious and Kyuhyun's joke didn't seem like a joke anymore.


But ultimately I'm fully blaming the PDs. RS is ENTIRELY scripted. And by that I mean all of the jabs and intros and conversational topic is ALL on the script. Even in the early RS days when things were much more harsh they had a way of making it light and comfortable for the audience, and nowadays it's just full of cheap jokes and jabby interrogation. In addition, WHY the hell did they release this on air? Haven't day re-filmed an entire episode before over some silly issues? (oh never mind that was running man)
I stopped watching RS after the producers have changed, and this ordeal is making me more sure that these PDs (who were on that terrible World Changing Quiz Show or whatever) seriously need to be fired or get educated again.
