NU’EST detained because of their fans (new levels of obsession unlocked!)

A few NU’EST fans in Singapore unwilling to see their favorite group return to Korea managed to successfully keep them a few hours longer in their home country through a prank.

After wrapping up a successful first showcase in Singapore, NU’EST headed to the airport to catch its return flight home to Korea on October 28.

Even before the NU’EST members arrival, however, the airport was swamped with throngs of NU’EST fans there to send off the members, partially paralyzing the airport.

Passing through immigration and the official procedures, the NU’EST members boarded their plane only to have members JR, Minhyun and Aron suddenly be asked to get off the plane and then be brought in for questioning by the local police.

The incident held back the three members as the rest of the group had to eventually depart as scheduled without them. As it turns out, some of the NU’EST fans in Singapore, not wanting to see the group go, had made a false report to the police which led to the group members being brought in for questioning and unable to make their scheduled flight.

The three were able to catch the next scheduled flight to Korea and reunite with their members.

SHINee Booed by Hong Kong Reporters at Etude House Event

On October 29th, SHINee attended a promotional event for Etude House in Hong Kong.

The members are currently in Hong Kong for their ‘SHINee World II‘ concert which was held on October 27th. During their stay in Hong Kong, they attended an event for Etude House and met with reporters. However, it seems that communication between the translator, SHINee and the reporters were not as smooth as everyone could have hoped to be, and SHINee ended up having to leave abruptly to a booing crowd. Footage of this incident was recently uploaded online and is becoming a hot topic. Many of the viewers thought that it was very rude and unprofessional for the reporters to boo SHINee.

Singer Fat Cat scores a shocking deal to debut in Japan

Singer Fat Cat has made an exceptionally good deal to debut in Japan, and will be carrying out her promotions in both Korea and Japan simultaneously.

On the 15th, Yoori Entertainment told allkpop, “Fat Cat has signed a 3 year contract with Japanese recording company JVC and management/production company Rainbow Entertainment for over 5 hundred million won (approximately $456,404)“.

Fat Cat made a powerful debut in September of 2011 with the song “Indifferent Love“, rising as a new star with her strong red hair and clock dance. She followed up with her second single, “Is Being Pretty Everything” and her third single, “Like a Dream“. However, due to a sudden onset of idiopathic edema, the singer stopped her promotions and focused on treatment.

A representative of the company stated, “During Fat Cat’s treatment, we were surprised to be contacted by Japanese representatives about signing a contract. After watching her promotions for her three albums and her treatment process, Japanese representatives continuously made love calls and proceeded with the contract process with confidence“.

Kurita Hide, the represenative of Rainbow Entertainment who will spear head Fat Cat’s Japanese debut, commented, “I saw not only the musical potential in Fat Cat, but also her potential as an actress and as a fashion leader. She showed the marks of being able to bloom into an amazing artist and of being loved by many people. I want to bring her up to become an amazing artist like BoA or YoonA. AOA‘s Seolhyun has been cast in ‘My Daughter Seoyoung‘.

Seolhyun will be playing the role ofSeo Eun Soo, which will be the girlfriend of CNBLUE Jungshin.

On being cast for this role, she stated, “I’m really happy to be cast in ‘My Daughter Seoyoung’ because I watch it all the time. I worked really hard during the audition because I really wanted the role and I’m really happy because I got good results. I’m nervous because it’s my first drama, but I feel safe because I’ll be with Jungshin sunbaenim. He’s a big strength. I’m going to work hard and practice a lot.”

f(x) member Sulli and 4minute member Kwon Sohyun have both decided to forgo college applications this year. 

Born in 1994, both Sulli and Kwon Sohyun have decided to not take their college entrance exams this year. Sulli, who recently wrapped up filming for "To the Beautiful You", will begin preparations for f(x)'s next album along with her members. Kwon Sohyun has also decided to focus on her career. A representative of Cube stated: "The dates for 4minute's next promotions have been set. We are now focusing on the preparations. This is a decision that Sohyun made herself after much deliberation." 

Recently, Suzy from miss A announced that she will not be applying for college. Sulli and Kwon Sohyun have also followed suit, creating a new wave within the entertainment circle and eliminating the stereotype that only those who apply to college can be successful. 4minute's agency revealed: "BTOB's Jung Ilhoon also decided to postpone his studies. The company respects the artists' personal decisions." 

On the other hand, U-Kiss member Dongho is in the middle of studying for the test with Chung-Ang University as his goal. He showed his determination and passion by attending interviews while receiving IV treatments. Krystal, another member of f(x), is reportedly preparing for her college examination as well.

Nicole’s serious diet regimen attracts attention

KARA member Nicole‘s diet regimen has been attracting attention from fans and netizens alike, as a picture titled “Nicole’s Seriously Shocking Dinner Diet“ surfaced in an online community on October 27th.

The picture is from the October 24th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Star Interview‘, in which Nicole revealed her diet secrets. Her diet plan included tofu, zucchinis, cauliflower, and carrots, as well as food without any oil and other healthy vegetables.

Instead of cooking her vegetables in oil, Nicole revealed that she instead bakes them in the oven, which keeps her calorie count low. She also explained that she sometimes replaces the tofu in her regimen with salmon or chicken breast. The singer revealed her ever-thin body in another segment of the show when she showcased part of her pilates routine on camera.

Cube Entertainment reveals image teaser for Noh Jihoon's upcoming debut

Cube Entertainment is preparing to unleash "The Next Big Thing."

On October 30th, Cube Entertainment released an image teaser for their new solo male singer Noh Jihoon on Cube United's Twitter account. Sitting against a beautifully made wooden chair, Noh Jihoon is seen wearing and elegant black shirt, decorated in gold lining and patterns.

For those unfamiliar with Noh Jihoon, he participated in MBC "Birth of a Great Star" and officially signed a contract with Cube Entertainment in June of last year.

He also featured alongside 4minute's Jihyun in the music video "Love Sickness" last year sung by BTOB's Eunkwang and Yoo Sungeun.

While there is no clear indication as to what Noh Jihoon's debut single title is, the date "121107" can only be insinuated as the release date.

Lee Hi's debut song "1, 2, 3, 4" has swept 1st place on all the music charts.

The song reached #1 on all the main music charts such as Melon, Olleh, Soribada, Bugs, Mnet, Daum, Naver, Cyworld, and Monkey3 immediately upon release. Not only so, but her name was also #1 on the real-time search sites on various portal sites.

Lee Hi was the runner-up to SBS's "K-Pop Star", and signed with YG Entertainment. Her debut song is a retro soul genre that emphasize her deep, soulful voice. The song combines an addicting beat with Lee Hi's natural sense of rhythm and reinterprets soul music of the 1960s with a more modern filter.

Leeteuk, Sangchu, and Ryu Sang Wook enter military service

Today is a sad day for many fans in Korea as three celebrities have enlisted into the military.

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu have entered together into the 306 reserve at Gyeonggido Uijeongbu, while actor Ryu Sang Wook has been enlisted into the 102 reserve at Kangwondo. The three will be completing a few weeks of basic training before serving as active duty soldiers.

Sangchu was seen off by his fellow member Shorry and a few other celebrity friends, while Leeteuk bid farewell to his Super Junior members and immense sea of ELF that had gathered to see their beloved Super Junior leader leave for the next two years.

Best of luck to the three stars!
