Today is a sad day for many fans in Korea as three celebrities have enlisted into the military.
Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu have entered together into the 306 reserve at Gyeonggido Uijeongbu, while actor Ryu Sang Wook has been enlisted into the 102 reserve at Kangwondo. The three will be completing a few weeks of basic training before serving as active duty soldiers.
Sangchu was seen off by his fellow member Shorry and a few other celebrity friends, while Leeteuk bid farewell to his Super Junior members and immense sea of ELF that had gathered to see their beloved Super Junior leader leave for the next two years.

Also, I don't care if it looks like fame whoring to other people, I think giving a lot of fans the chance to see him before he goes into the military is a really nice gesture. I know if I could have I probably would have gone to cheer him on, it would have given me a close, warm and fuzzy feeling.
EDIT: After sleeping some I still can't get over how much of a creeper Sungmin looks like in that outfit. Horrible baggy sweater, dark sunglasses and a baseball hat. I think I watch too much Law & Order: SVU.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with celebrities choosing not to participate in active duty, because that's a really intense decision for anyone to make. But I know that he had to advocate for himself (because of his ridiculous crooked spine) to be allowed to serve in an active unit, and that's a really brave decision. I hope that his time in the military lets him gain some perspective on life and gives him some better anger-management coping skills. God knows he needs them.
(Also: He looks so adorable with no hair! If also heartbreakingly like his dad. *all the feels*)

I wish him all the best and though I will certainly miss him, I look forward to welcoming him again in 2014. I've been a fan for 6 years through major life changes and growing up years, what's another 2 years more?
Heechul will be back in no time as well. Someday my 83-line will be complete <3
P.S I am so happy to see adorable HenHen was there to see him off!

Celebrity life is killer in Korea, man.
Eternal sigh at everyone who doesn't know these folks personally and is either crying or throwing a party. They're celebrities, if u love them they don't know u and if you hate them just turn off the tv. XD

There will be exponentially more guys starting their service beginning with the idols that were big from 2000-2007. Seems like a trickle that will turn into a downpour in the next 5-10 years.
