SHINee Booed by Hong Kong Reporters at Etude House Event

On October 29th, SHINee attended a promotional event for Etude House in Hong Kong.

The members are currently in Hong Kong for their ‘SHINee World II‘ concert which was held on October 27th. During their stay in Hong Kong, they attended an event for Etude House and met with reporters. However, it seems that communication between the translator, SHINee and the reporters were not as smooth as everyone could have hoped to be, and SHINee ended up having to leave abruptly to a booing crowd. Footage of this incident was recently uploaded online and is becoming a hot topic. Many of the viewers thought that it was very rude and unprofessional for the reporters to boo SHINee.

According to some Canto speakers on the YT video page, the booing is directed toward the event organization, not SHINee... they were told they'd have more photo-taking time but then SHINee was ushered offstage and the photographers were pissed. Not SHINee being booed offstage but rather the poor communication being booted.

one version says, reporters didn't leave them alone on their 'day off'. managers used their usual way of NO PHOTO (pushing away), shinee had dark faces, only immersed with their phones, key being 'fake'. reporters butthurt, reporters ask shinee why they did that, there is actually no translator present, shinee don't understand shit and leave w/o giving interview.
other version says their schedule changed and they left aprubtly leaving reporters hanging.

second one sounds less dramatic to me so imma go with that. but anyway, the reporter's reaction was way overboard. especially since shinee themselves look like they didn't even know what was going on.

Fluent Canto speaker here. Basically what happened is...

The video
@0:30 starts off with the MC suggesting they take photos and to speak about the brand.
@1:06 MC asks for a mic so that the Chinese celeb there can speak to the reporters and says there is a lot of time to take photos later. (but nothing happens)
@1:30 MC wants SHINee to speak about Etude House. (but gets cut off by someone at the side.)
@1:40 Instead of letting SHINee speak, the MC goes on about how SHINee prepared presents for the 2 Chinese celebs there.
@2:05 MC suggests to take photos after the present exchange.
@2:21 SHINee randomly peaces out and the booing starts.

This is just a translation of what the MC said, since the Chinese Celebs and SHINee just stood there for 2 minutes doing absolutely nothing.

I speak canto and from all I got from the video is that this is so poorly organized. The MC/host is obviously overwhelmed with the constant demands of the reporters. I think the reporters boo-ed because they didn't enough/good photos of the event before SHINee had to leave which I think is unprofessional.

This is isn't the first time that Etude messed up an event with SHINee because of their shitty organisational skills. In the end again it's the boys that get hurt when they'd done nothing wrong.

Their management team was too over-protective again. Reporters wouldn't leave them alone on their day off and felt entitled to their attention and when they didn't get it decided to be childish about it the next day - I can't believe one of them asked if SHINee disliked Hong Kong reporters, Minho was quick to step in and say that they appreciated the attention. The translator didn't seem to know what was going on half the time and her acting as the host didn't help either.

I hope the members good memories of their time in Hong Kong isn't marred too much by this one incident.
