Big Bang and B2ST member Jang Hyun Seung‘s friendship has touched the hearts of many netizens.

Jang Hyun Seung tweeted on the 5th, “Truly thankful ungahdeul.. I’m so energized! Go! BEAUTIFUL SHOW..!”, and he revealed the photo above. (Ungahdeul: It’s a cute way of saying hyung in a plural form. It’s a slang btw.)

The photo shows a flower arrangement that Big Bang members have sent to congratulate B2ST’s concert. The messages are directed to Jang Hyun Seung, whom the Big Bang members have personal relationships with and the messages read, ‘Jang! Hyun! Seung! Jjang!’, ‘Big Bang Ungahdeul’, and ‘Our dongseng hwaiting crazy cheek’. The messages clearly show their brotherly love and it’s heartwarming to see that their friendship is still strong. (The last message could have been ‘Crazy Clown’, depending on what Big Bang tried to say).

Big Bang members and Jang Hyun Seung were all trainees in YG before either B2ST or Big Bang debuted. Jang Hyun Seung was eliminated in the final round of selection, but he later debuted triumphantly as a member of B2ST.

Netizens commented on the gift, “Ungahdeul lol cute”, “T.T I wanted to go to B2ST’s concert but I couldn’t make it..”, “Jang Hyun Seung really is jjang! Hwaiting”, “WOW they are still very close~ It’s so touching”, and so on.

Korea’s representative MC, Yoo Jae Suk, has finally attracted the creation of an anti-fan cafe.

On the February 6th, MBC‘s ‘Good Day‘ looked into Yoo Jae Suk’s top-related search item, “Anti cafe“.

Considering how Yoo Jae Suk is famous for having no anti-fans, reporters were surprised by the appearance of an anti cafe. yet the real kicker was that the anti cafe was formed by his own fans.

Upon closer inspection, however, ‘Good Day’ discovered that the messages left on Yoo Jae Suk’s anti-fan cafe are ones of encouragement and affection.  The founder of the anti cafe revealed, “I made an anti-cafe because no one had made one yet. I made it to be the first and to be a unique anti-cafe. I’m a fan of Yoo Jae Suk.”

CN Blue's Kang Min Hyuk Plays Kim Nam Joo's Brother in KBS Weekend Drama

CN Blue’s Kang Min Hyuk puts on his acting hat once again as he joins the cast of the new KBS weekend drama, confirming the early buzz. The drummer will play the younger brother of female lead Kim Nam Joo in “You Rolled in Unexpectedly.”

Kang Min Hyuk’s character is named Sae Kwang, which means “light of the world.” The name gives a clue into the bright and charismatic personality that he will be portraying. Additionally, Sae Kwang has been described as a ladies’ man.

“You Rolled in Unexpectedly” features Kim Nam Joo (“Queen of Reversals”) as Hong Yoon Hee, a career-oriented woman who married a doctor. She then encounters difficulties with her in-laws. The drama hopes to draw entertainment from the events surrounding the unforeseen clash between wife and in-laws.

“You Rolled in Unexpectedly” is CN Blue's Kang Min Hyuk's third drama after appearing in “It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl” and “Heartstrings.” It begins airing on KBS in late February, replacing the currently airing “Ojakgyo Brothers.”

A new cable TV program giving free plastic surgery to selected participants is raising a lot of eyebrows as many viewers find the show uncomfortable to watch. The new show, called “Let Me In,” which started airing on Dec. 2, chooses patients out of a pool of thousands of applicants who feel self-conscious about certain body parts or have health issues and offers them plastic surgery at no cost. “Me-in” means a beauty in Korean. As a result, they are reborn as completely different people, most of them made over not only on the parts they requested to change, but also on other areas of their body.

10 women accuse Chris Golightly & his hair of sexual assault

Chris Golightly, the U.S. contestant from the Korean reality show “Superstar K,” has lashed out at a group of women who claimed the singer sexually assaulted them. Golightly took to his Facebook page on Thursday to defend himself, warning that if the women didn’t reveal “the truth,” he would release pictures of them online. He also dismissed rumors that he had left for the U.S.

“I did not leave Korea. .?.?. Show your faces, did I really hurt you? You lying trash. I can’t believe people believe such trash. People write and make up stuff then vanish, and you believe it .?.?. All this is defamation .?.?. only attack me? Because I’m a foreigner? wtf. I’ve been nice to everyone ... and this is how I’m treated,” Golightly wrote on Facebook.

Asia Economy had reported Jan. 30 that the entertainer was leaving Korea for the United States based on a status update on his Facebook page posted earlier that day.

The 10 alleged victims are considering legal recourse, claiming they suffered from mental distress as a result of Golightly’s actions.

Hallyu actually makes some money for South Korea

Korea raised nearly $800 million from the export of television dramas, movies and K-pop content last year, the Bank of Korea said Monday, raking in the highest amount of revenue since overseas sales began in 1997.

The culture industry generated a total of 890 billion won ($793 million) from the Korean Wave or hallyu in 2011, the highest overseas profit since the central bank started collecting related data in 1980. The industry generated no revenue from selling cultural content abroad up until 1996.

“The industry posted a dramatic increase in sales after K-pop started to appeal to the mainstream in the U.S. and Europe last year,” a BOK official said.

Explosive growth in overseas profits began in 1997 when the industry raised $5 million from selling Korean dramas. The figure jumped to $268 million by 2005 and to $637 million in 2010.

Such rapid growth is attracting heavy government investment. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to spend 33.5 billion won this year to promote Korean culture.

Separately, overseas construction orders raised $15.16 billion last year, up 26.8 percent from a year earlier. Contractors such as Ssangyong Engineering & Construction, Samsung C&T Corp., Hyundai Engineering & Construction won major contracts in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, expanding even as the local industry shrank 5 percent.

Overseas sales for logistics and insurance companies fell however, as trade shrank on slower growth in the advanced economies. The transport industry raised $ 37.1 billion from abroad last year, down 4.9 percent from 2010. Insurers raised $419 million in the same period, down 18.7 percent from 2010.

Se7en kicked off his comeback promotions last week through music programs, and now he’s ready to do the same with magazine pictorials.

On February 6th, the singer updated his me2day with a series of photos from his ‘Dazed & Confused‘ magazine shoot.

“DAZED magazine pictorial photoshoot!!! 9 unique concepts~!!! I really like how the pictures came out!!! March issue!! Please look forward to it!” he wrote.

Se7en looks quite tanned in his photos, and he’s even put on some bright pink eyeshadow and metallic lipstick. It looks like he could be going for a ‘summer-themed’ look, but at this point, it’s anyone’s guess.

Sandara Park says hello to old colleagues at ABS-CBN

On her last day in Manila, Korean pop star Sandara Park visited former colleagues at ABS-CBN. While her groupmates from 2NE1--CL, Bom and Minzy--opted to stay at their hotel to rest before their flight back to Korea, Sandara decided to drop by to say hello to her former Star Magic mentor Mr. Johnny Manahan, the staff of Sunday noontime show ASAP (where she was a regular) and some celebrity friends. Sandara had just returned from Albay that morning with the rest of 2NE1.

Because of time restraints, Sandara had to rush to different areas of the Kapamilya network starting with a visit to Mr. M, who was at the time directing ASAP’s live show from the control booth. The two had a short chat and she soon went to see the show’s staff including Joyce Liquicia, ASAP’s business unit head. She then headed off to the MYX studio to meet Luis Manzano, the former Star Circle Quest (SCQ) host but she eventually went back to the ASAP dressing rooms to see him. Here, she was also able to talk Kim Chiu, who is an admitted fan of Sandara.

Afterwards, Sandara headed straight to a nearby restaurant have her favorite sisig (fried minced pig ears/cheeks), sinigang na hipon (tamarind-seasoned shrimp stew), pakbet (some random vegetables I don't like mixed together), gambas (some yummy garlic infused shrimp dish), and kinilaw na pusit (raw squid soaked in vinegar and spices) for lunch. Here, she got to hang out with actor Joross Gamboa, one of her closest buddies from SCQ.

Sandara also decided to buy Italian food for the 2NE1 members and their entourage and here, another former SCQ member, Raphael Martinez, caught up with them. On her way back to her hotel, Joross called actress Melissa Ricks, who was on a Walang Hanggan mall tour in Lucena, and had her talk to Sandara. Melissa thanked Sandara for the belated birthday gift the latter had sent her days earlier. Melissa was particularly touched that Sandara remembered to get what she really wanted.

It was a short trip to her “second home” and Sandara hopes she will have more time to spend with her friends the next time she visits again

Girls’ Generation to conquer the US. More then 1,300 people at the fansign

Does Girls’ Generation have what it takes to conquer the US? Based on the number of fans that showed up to their fan signing event in New York, the answer is a resounding YES!

According to SM Entertainment, Girls’ Generation held a fan signing event at the electronic retailer Best Buy in New York’s Union Square on February 2.

To everyone’s surprise, over 1,300 fans showed up to the meet and greet, far exceeding the number of people that the event coordinator expected that the event to draw.

Die-hard fans stood in line since early in the morning for a chance to meet the lades of Girls’ Generation and the New York police had to be dispatched for crowd control. For safety reasons, Best Buy also decided to close the store to all other customers.

The SM Entertainment spokesperson also added that this is second time in Best Buy’s history that they decided to close the store for safety reasons; the first time being when Lady Gaga stopped by to meet with her fans.

Singer and former H.O.T member Moon Hee Joon recently revealed that he has no idea who Bill Gates is.

On an episode of JTBC‘s “Idol Preview,” which aired on February 3, Moon Hee Joon appeared with his fellow singer Son Ho Young and played a game where they had to correctly identify Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Google’s current executive chairman Eric Schmidt.

Even when Moon Hee Joon received the hint that Director Ahn Chul Soo recently met with Microsoft’s Bill Gates, which caused quite a sensation in Korea, Moon Hee Joon had a blank stare on his face.

Ahn response to the hint, Moon Hee Joon stated:

“I swear I have no idea who Bill Gates is.”

And fellow contestant Son Ho Young also added that he knew who Bill Gates is but didn’t know what he looked like.

In the end, Moon Hee Joon correctly identified Bill Gates, but only because his clothes in the picture “looked expensive.” Son Ho Young was also able to identify Bill Gates in the end.

S Korea wants crackdown on Sydney prostitutes

The South Korean government says it has written to a dozen Sydney councils asking for any information they might have about Korean nationals who are involved in prostitution at local brothels.

The letter from South Korea's consul general, Jin Soo Kim, says the government believes the number of Korean nationals involved in the sex industry could be growing and it wants to eliminate human trafficking and sex slavery while protecting the victims.

It has asked councils to supply information on the number of brothels in their areas and urges them to provide details of Korean nationals involved either as victims or offenders, saying a South Korean police attache is ready to support enforcement activities where needed.

N.Korea 'Developing Kamikaze Drones'

The North Korean military is developing unmanned "suicide" attack aircraft to target South Korean troops on the northwesternmost islands, a South Korean Army source claimed Sunday. The South Korean military in turn plans to procure all-weather unmanned tactical dirigibles capable of carrying out reconnaissance missions even in bad weather to deploy on the islands.

The source claimed the North is developing unmanned attack aircraft "using high-speed U.S. target drones imported from a Middle Eastern country." This is presumed to be Syria.

A high-speed target drone is used as a target for testing surface-to-air missiles. The target drones the North imported are believed to be MQM-107D Streakers.

Jung Sung-san's Long Struggle to Make Film About N.Korea

Director Jung Sung-san's latest film is titled "Ryanggang Children" and portrays children rather than political and ideological struggles in North Korea. The film was released in November 2011. Jung said, "I wanted to depict the reality in North Korea accurately through cultural medium."

"Ryanggang Children" begins with a scene where Christmas presents attached to balloons from South Korea fall on a village in North Korea. The film took seven years to reach the theaters. The project started in 2004 but only finished in 2006 after much difficulty. Then it took another six years to finally find a distributor, only to be screened in a very small number of cinemas.

Jung expressed his dismay and sadness at the situation after pouring all his passion into his debut film. "I wanted to talk about hope through children who manage to live normally despite impoverished and inhumane conditions in North Korea. Although it failed to draw much attention, I think I should say I'm lucky to get a chance to screen it even briefly."
