With their highly-anticipated comeback inching ever closer, the Wonder Girls will finally be returning to Korea within the week!

A representative of JYP Entertainment stated, “The Wonder Girls are currently spending busy days filming for their TV movie, ‘The Wonder Girls at the Apollo‘. If there aren’t any additional schedules to be added, they will be returning to Korea within the weekend and begin preparations for their comeback.”

The Wonder Girls are up against several girl groups like SNSD and T-ara. As such, an eye-catching concept is a must in order to stay in the spotlight. The Wonder Girls are known for their retro concepts now, so many are wondering what they’ll be bringing out next.

The representative revealed, “We’ll be planning our concept to fit around the feel of the song, so as opposed to retro, we feel that it will be more pop. The Wonder Girls will definitely be coming out with a new image, so please look forward to it.”

Cantonese is the official language in Hong Kong right? I've heard native Mandarin speakers have troubles understanding Cantonese so I'm a bit surprised that Victoria and Luna can understand the interviewer. Also surprised that Victoria said she communicate using Mandarin with Amber when they met for the first time. I thought she doesn't speak or understand Mandarin.

G-Dragon is currently endorsing 10 or so brands in Korea such as Beanpole, North Face, G-Market, Sunny10, CJ Group, Nikon, LG phones and more. However due to the controversy over the marijuana case earlier this week, fans are left to worry on how these brands would react and if they will be terminating the endorsement contract with him or not.

After the official statement released by YG Entertainment, majority of these companies have expressed that there wouldn't be any changes and G-Dragon would still be endorsing their products as main models, as an individual as well as a part of Big Bang.

tl;dr - Ji brings in too much money for them to just drop his endorsements.

China arrested a South Korean national and a North Korean defector in its northeastern city of Shenyang last week, a diplomatic source said Sunday, bringing to 37 the number of South Koreans and North Korean defectors detained by the Chinese authorities in recent weeks.

South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Beijing has not confirmed the alleged new arrest, adding it is trying to figure out the exact number of North Korean defectors in Chinese custody.

The development illustrates China's latest crackdowns on tens of thousands of North Korean defectors who crossed the border to avoid chronic hunger and political oppression.

Many of them are believed to be seeking to travel to Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries before resettling in South Korea, home to more than 22,000 North Korean defectors.

Still, China does not recognize North Korean defectors as refugees and regularly repatriates them to the North, where they could face harsh punishment and even execution.

T-ara's Eunjung will take on the challenge of an actress once again.

Eunjung was cast as the young version of Chae Sira in the jTBC drama "Taking Over". Eunjung has already appeared in the KBS2 drama "Dream High" and the movie "White: Curse of the Melody" earlier this year. She's validated her acting skills through several dramas when she was younger and is now on to taking bigger roles, which has created high expectations for her acting.

Eunjung said, "When I first read the 'Taking Over' plot, I thought it was interesting and full of tension and something I would like to try out."

"Taking Over" is a 50-episode series about the struggles of three women and the ambition of becoming a queen, starting with the 5th generation and ending with the 10th generation. Chae Sira and Kim Misuk will also star in the drama while Lee Taegon will be the PD in charge. The first broadcast is scheduled for December.

When does video gaming become gambling? To critics, it is the moment players start spending real money.

Blizzard Entertainment, one of the world’s leading video game companies, plans to introduce a real-currency marketplace in Diablo III, the much-awaited second sequel to the megahit series of the same name.

In a country where young people play games for hours in “PC bang” or Internet cafes, the prospect of a government approving such a trading platform seems out of the question to many.

The “auction house” feature in its current form is expected to fail in its bid at the Game Ratings Board, especially after Korean company IMI’s “Emperor Online” was rebuffed for promoting a similar feature. Without a rating, the game cannot go on sale.
The board’s spokesman declined to comment )

To cut spending on private English studies, a civic group has launched a campaign by publishing a booklet underlining the inefficacy of learning English at language institutes.

The World Without Worries About Private Education (WWWPE), an educational civic group, publicized the booklet, titled “What a Waste! Private English Education,” which provides alternative methods to learn English without relying on expensive private institutes, on Sept. 28.

The group will begin distributing 2 million copies of the booklet to citizens.

“We’ve launched a campaign to give parents proper information about private English education, since this takes up a major portion of private tuition costs. We want to help them reduce unnecessary spending on educating their children,” said Kim Seung-hyun, a policy division chief at the WWWPE.
“Parents don’t have enough channels from which they can access relevant information )
