Subaru Movie - TVXQ and Stephanie Cameos

One of the most awaited Japanese movies--Subaru--has finally been shown in Singapore.

This movie is special to TVXQ, CSJH The Grace, Koda Kumi, BoA (and etc.) fans and more because several of their hit songs have been chosen for the movie's sound track. It has TVXQ's Oricon #1 single "Bolero" and the Japanese version of "The Way U Are"; CSJH The Grace's (better known in Japan as Tenjochiki) main track from their 2nd Japanese album "Sukoshi de ii kara (A Bit of Good)" and a new song composed especially for the movie, "Coming to you"; BoA's "Eat You Up"; Koda Kumi's "Faraway" and more.

The fact that TVXQ and CSJH The Grace's Stephanie Kim were announced to have scenes in the movie also contributed to the movie's hype and popularity. TVXQ had a performance cameo and Stephanie was a part of the cast as the ballet instructor's assistant, perhaps as a tribute to her professional ballet background. Reports are that she appeared 5-6 times in the movie and acted splendidly. Many commented that she was very fluent in Japanese.

Oh Ji-ho donates ₩100,000 to Seo's charity project

Mnet Brand New Friend's Seo In-young held a charity bazaar on May 31 at Apgujeong and guess who turned up to support her efforts?

Oh Ji-ho (don't ask me why he's dressed in baseball uniform) turned up to help sell DVDs, clothes and even donated a cheque for ₩100,000 to Seo's project.

Seo In-young and her Jewelry band mates sold their personal items at the bazaar. From skirts to denim shorts to old DVDs!

Full proceeds of the charity bazaar will be donated to the pediatric ward at Shinchon Severance Hospital, Seoul.

High school horror series continues with Suicide Pact

Check out the latest poster releases for the upcoming horror film Suicide Pact, which is the latest installment of the 여고괴담 “Horror School” (or Memento Mori) series.

The franchise has produced four films in the past decade, and with summer approaching, the fifth is set to premiere in a few weeks. The photos alone are enough to tell me I’ll be staying far, far away — but if horror-thrillers are your thing, it may be right up your alley.

The story features five high school friends dealing with different problems who swear to die together in the name of friendship — until one of them commits suicide first.

Suicide Pact opens on June 18.

Given the prevalence of suicide in the industry in recent times, one may think it’s a sensitive topic to center a horror film around, but director Lee Jong-yong explains that the suicides aren’t portrayed in a romantic light, and focuses instead on how the suicide pact is a misguided idea on the part of the students.

Numerous fans have been confused about the appearances of the mini homepages that impersonate the SNSD members.

SNSD members' fake mini homepage addresses that have been quickly spreading after being recently posted on SNSD fan homepages, bulletin board, blogs of all sorts, and etc. The mini homepages have pictures of each of the members in their early years and have uploaded numerous self-taken photos.

Group 2AM has been said to have volunteered to appear in 8eight’s new MV from their upcoming digital single.

2AM showed interests to appear for 8eight’s upcoming new single title song MV after news went out about the new digital single. And this will be the first time that the 2 groups are working together.

2AM, “We really like 8eight’s ‘Without a heart’ that we sing in on radio and also changed the lyrics and filmed a video for president song together. We hope that with the MV, 2AM and 8eight can have more working opportunities together.”

2AM previously performed their own version of ‘Without a heart’ on Park Kyung Rim’s radio show last April. They also met together in the waiting room where they changed the lyrics to the song to become the ‘president song’.

8eight will be releasing a new digital single on 11th June.

Lee Min Ho, whose popularity rising because of his role, Gu Jun Pyo in “Boys Over Flowers”, thanks also to popular parody played in many different variety programs.

There were KBS2 “Gag Concert”, MBC “Infinity Challenge”, and also “Introducing Star’s Friend”. As they have used the real characters from “Boys Over Flowers”, Lee Min Ho as well as other cast are mimic in these parody.

According to Lee Min Ho, one of the most funniest parody he’s ever seen is from “Infinity Challenge”. He picked this show without hesitation, and said that Park Myung Soo did such a great job as Gu Jun Pyo. His reason? “It was so much fun! I couldn’t stop laughing at that time while watching it,” he said.

Yoon Eun Hye will soon be known more for her CFs then being an actress, since she has done mostly CFs since Coffee Prince in 2007 and with no further developments on her new drama Lady Castle as yet. Eun Hye was in the studios recently to film a new CF for Samsung Zipel fridges and fans were more captivated by her new look as she looked much more beautiful compared to the past.

The CF, released on 1st June sees Eun Hye dressed in a pearl colored dress that looked like a tulip and accentuated her shapely figure. Her new hairstyle not only complemented the delicateness of Eun Hye but also showcased her womanly, feminine charisma. Fans were full of praise after seeing Eun Hye's new look and commented that she looked much more beautiful than before. They also said that they can no longer link Eun Hye with her Coffee Prince drama role as the boyish looking Go Eun Chan.

NY1 Viewers Thinks That Wonder Girls Will Make It Big

Tens of thousands across the globe think Wonder Girls will be the biggest Asian pop stars in the United States.

As part of Asian American Heritage Month, NY1 featured a series of profiles of Asian musicians looking to make it in the United States last month. Then, posed the question as to who would make it big.

Out of the 20,000 people who voted, 64 percent thought Wonder Girls would be stars.

Utada came in second with 30 percent and Se7en received 6 percent.

All the artists have released or will soon release English-language albums.

After School adding new member

Rising to the cream of the crop for pop girl groups, AfterSchool is deciding to add in a 7th member, as announced by Pledis Entertainment. Currently it is not known who this singer will be. Will After School become like Girls Generation and have 9, or like Morning Musume and have “graduation” periods where singers split off to do solo careers? We can’t be sure, but stay tuned and for now just enjoy the music.

I guess it makes sense, seeing as how some of the members are almost 30.

Kim Hyunjoong's grandmother is sick, Hyunjoong is upset

Kim Hyun Joong has left people around him worried after he seemed to be in misery and suffering from depression recently during work. This apparently happened after Kim Hyun Joong's grandmother suffered complications during her knee surgery last month. His grandmother showed symptoms of paralysis to the whole body during the surgery and although she is currently out of danger, she is unable to recognize anyone else other than Kim Hyun Joong himself.

Hyun Joong had expressed many times during interviews that his grandmother was like a 'mother' to him. He said, "Before I was admitted to school, my grandmother was the one looking after me on behalf of my parents who were busy with work. My grandmother doted on me since I was little and she was more happy than anyone else when she saw that I had achieved a little success as a singer and in Boys Before Flowers. I was able to endure all the tiring and tough times because of her (grandmother) support." The news that his grandmother was seriously ill after surgery has thus pained Kim Hyun Joong's heart deeply and left him severely drained.

Kim Hyun Joong is not ruling out the possibility of negligence by the doctors in charge which led to his grandmother suffering complications during surgery and will be seeking a thorough inquiry into the surgery procedures. If it was found to be negligence that resulted in Hyun Joong's grandmother health being worsened, Hyun Joong is likely to file for legal action for his grandmother.

Kim Hyun Joong's grandmother has now been transferred to another medical facility in Gyeonggi-do for further treatment and Hyun Joong will always head over to look after his grandmother if his schedule permits. He can't do that for the time being though as he is currently with SS501 for promotions in Hawaii and will only be back on 4th June.

Kim Gu Ra's cute son Dong Hyun appeared on tv and revealed his feelings about all the netizens bashing his dad. Poor kid showed some tears when he appeared and said "My dad debuted as a celebrity/well-known person after being an obscure rude talker on the internet. But he had a hard time in the beginning because he can't flatter people and no one would acknowledge him. When he saw the articles about him online, he'd pretend like it was no big deal. But he'd go off by himself to where no one could see him hurt. I really felt bad for my dad whenever I saw him like that. If you guys really get to know my dad, he's sensitive and gets hurt easily."

Solo Singer AJ Changing His Stage Name

Solo singer AJ (born Lee Ki Kwang) will be changing his stage name in time for the release of his second album in July. On June 1, a source from Cube Entertainment announced that the decision was made on their end due to the greater-than-expected backlash from Paran fans for “copying” the name of the group’s youngest member. Although AJ (Ace Junior) debuted with the same name only after consultation with people representing Paran, netizens attacked AJ for adopting the same name. The Cube Entertainment spokesperson said that despite the controversy, they maintain a good relationship with Paran’s representatives.

Super Junior, starting in July, will tour 10 cities in Asia.

Following 'Sorry Sorry'，and 'It's You' promotion,
Super Junior will begin their Second Asia Tour。

SM Entertainment has stated that Super Junior will begin their
"The 2nd ASIA TOUR SUPER SHOW Ⅱ" in Seoul on July 17.
They'll then tour Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Taipei,
and 7 other cities in Asia, a total of 10 cities.

They will hold a three-day concert from July 17th to 19th at the
Olympic Fencing Gymnasium in Seoul. Following their first tour,
"SUPER SHOW Ⅱ" will include songs from their 3rd Album and other exciting performances.

It looks like MC Mong’s girlfriend isn’t the only one getting hate these days. Kim Minseon, the girl who won in the Lottery of Love for being Nickhun’s girlfriend for a week is getting the mega hate from 2PM fans.

5-member female band KARA will back this summer with the new song ‘Same Heart’.

The song will be released on 4th June, and it is composed by Han Jae Ho (who also brought to us hits like ‘Pretty Girl’ and ‘Honey’), and written Kim Seung Soo. The song is said to be bring out KARA’s special feeling and also the perfect song for the summer season.

The song will also be featured in the game ‘I-Musician’ which the girls will be singing the OST and modelling to.

Already, the first teaser video to the MV of the song was revealed on Mnet and GomTV on 2nd June.

The song will be revealed in full on 4th June.

Too Much Pressure on Women

That South Korea has a suicide problem is no longer news. As shocking as it may seem for a country that just 20 years ago had one of the world's lowest rates, and to now have seen the level skyrocket to be one of its highest, is the reality that now haunts this country.

Authorities seem stumped over how to handle the situation. The best policy they've been able to construct is to ban the word ``suicide" from the Internet. This recent desperate foray to solve the problem communicates two things to us. First, that the government is low on ideas; second, that they aren't able to see the larger picture.

While teenage suicide clubs may make headlines, in reality, it is the high suicide rate among women that is keeping South Korea's suicide rate so high. And the trend is not isolated to South Korea alone, but is shared among its neighbors as well. South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan hold the top five spots in world suicide rates for women. That is no mere coincidence, but speaks clearly about something unique in East Asia that is leading women to kill themselves in greater numbers.
