New singer AJ to be the opening performer for Lady Gaga’s showcase

Newsinger AJ will be performing for the opening stage of pop star Lady Gaga’s showcase in Korea.
Lady Gaga will be having her showcase on 17th June in Korea ChungDamDong’s club, taking the chance to also interact with her Korean fans. And AJ will be her special opening performer. Lady Gaga’s representative said, “Of the list of stars to perform for the opening stage, Lady Gaga liked AJ the best.”
With that AJ’s representative said, “AJ is very excited and honoured to be able to perform for worldclass pop star Lady Gaga. He will bring to fans his best for the opening of Lady Gaga’s 1st showcase in Korea.”
Meanwhile, AJ will also be having his showcase in Japan and Thailand coming July.

2AM to hold First Fan Meeting

2AM is to have their first ever fan meeting on June 6th at the Mapo Art Center in Seoul. This will be their first fan meeting since debuting in July of last year.

A JYP Entertainment official spoke on the matter, "This is the first time the fans will get to meet 2AM. A surprise guest will also make an appearance, so please wait with eagerness."

I wonder who the special guest will be? My guess is 8eight since they've done collaborations in the past and will do so in the future as well.

This is great news for me because even with JoKwon 2AM seems to attract an older, more mature and better looking female crowd. LOL (?) I'll be waiting intently for the photos.

Kim Bum, the action star

While his on-screen partner, Kim So Eun has it easy signing autographs at a film festival, Kim Bum is working hard to become an action star and move away from his pretty boy image from Boys Before Flowers. He should be succeeding pretty soon for he is also training hard to be a mixed martial arts exponent in SBS Dream.

We were earlier treated to stills of Kim Bum kissing Kim Byul from his new movie, Flight where he plays the leading role. Today, we have stills where he leaps off a building 20m off the ground, with a wire behind his back all by himself, without the use of an extra. Despite injuring his ankle during the filming, Kim Bum still wore a smiley face throughout, showing a maturity that's really rare among new actors. The adolescent romantic action movie, Flight will premiere in movie theatres in September

Park Yejin and Lee Chunhee in tears for last episode of family outing.

Lots of tears were shed, especially by Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee as they officially left SBS Family Outing on 2nd June in their final recording. The family members of Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, Yoon Jong Shin, Kim Su Ro, Daesung, Kim Jong Kook, Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee had been recording their final episode together as a family with a farewell tour concept in Hongcheon for the past 2 days.

There were no special guests this time but everything went ahead like normal. They gathered ingredients, prepared food and also played games. Daesung was supposed to be with Big Bang in Japan for a NHK recording on 1st June, but he chose to record Family Outing instead. Muscle man Kim Jong Kook also took the earliest flight back home from his weekend concerts in Japan to join the recording. All of these, so that the family members can spend their last time together as one united family.

We felt uneasy as were separated miles away from our home country, thinking how if no one liked us, etc. While finally 2 years ago, after all those hard working years… on such a huge stage of Budoukan, in front of great number of fans, we couldn’t stand but cried.” – Tohoshinki.

Tohoshinki who currently has been active in all cities around Japan, they had endured anykind of uneasy feeling, restlessness for finally to be in where they are now.

Yesterday, the Korean media reported that another unidentified female star has also been placed under investigation for bringing drugs into the country. And police also implicated 7 more persons in this growing drug ring.

T-ara JiWon and JiAe to leave the group, singer Jung Yeong Rook’s daughter to join as new member

Singer Jung Yeong Rook and talent Lee Mi Yeong’s daughter Jung BoRam will debut as a singer.

Jung BoRam will join Mnet’s upcoming new female group T-ara as a new member. And coming summer, she will start her singer activities.

Jung BoRam has already released a single album earlier this year, and has been the topic amongst netizens. Appearing with her father on broadcast programmes, she revealed that she has been preparing to debut as a singer for a few years and have been taking part in auditions.

And T-ara members JiWon and JiAe will leave the group as they felt that the group’s style do not go with them. Hence BoRam will join Eun Jung, Hyo Min and JiYeon, and another new member will also be added to the group to be make a 5-member group.

Untouchable Releases Teaser for New Single, "Oh"

Untouchable is out with a new teaser for their next single, "Oh", and from what we can hear, it's pretty catchy! I caught myself saying "Oh, oh, oh" after just my first time hearing the teaser! Their previous songs were very catchy as well, which further sparked my interest in this type of music. This new song has a western feel to it, and I have to say, I love it! Their mini album is set to come out on June 9th, and by the sound and look of this teaser, Untouchable is well on their way to the top! Sleepy, one of the members of the group, must be having the time of his life right now, with a mini album coming out just three months after their previous album and a girlfriend, Hwayobi, to celebrate with him.

Group 2NE1 has revealed that they take singers Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa as their role models.

They were on MBC radio ‘Park Kyung Rim’s Starry Night’ on 2nd June for their first radio show when they were asked, “Which seonbae singer do you want to be like” and the answer was Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa. Park Bom has answered Lee Hyori while the rest of the members answered Um Jung Hwa.

And about the males stars they like, Park Bom answered Jang Dong Gun, Sandara Park answered Won Bin, CL answered 1TYM Teddy and MinJi answered Brad Pitt.

The girls also talked a little about the behind story of becoming a singer. Park Bom said, “I was a kid who love and enjoy singing. And in America, my parents sent to me a music university where I studied for 3 years.” Park Bom also shed some tears talking about studying for 3 years at the university and then transitting to be a trainee.

Sandara Park said, “When I heard Seo Taiji’s songs, I wanted to be a singer. Even as I was promoting as an entertainer in the Philippines, I still hold the dream to sing in Korea.”

CL also added, “I had the dream to be a singer after my dad let me listent to singer Lauryn Hill’s music.” Youngest member Gong Minji said, “Through the words of my grandmother Mrs Gong OkJin, we have to be modest on stage.”

Meanwhile, the girls performed a cover of Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’, Big Bang’s ‘We Belong together’ and their own song ‘Fire’ live on the radio show.

3 More Entertainers Caught in Drug Bust

Entertainers, university students and foreign English lecturers have been caught using drugs in public places, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) Wednesday.

The agency's drug squad said it was seeking arrest warrants for 12 people after booking 72 for using narcotics at clubs in Gangnam and Itaewon.

Following the booking of popular film star Ju Ji-hun, 27, actress Yun Seol-hee, 28, and model Ye Hak-young, 26, for drug use in April, police apprehended three more entertainers for taking drugs smuggled in from Japan.

``The entertainers are singers and actors,'' a police officer said. ``The list includes an actor currently starring in a drama, but we cannot disclose any identities during an investigation.''

They put ecstasy tablets in drinks and took them in groups of three or four in private rooms in clubs as well as in public, he said.

``Previously, drug users took the narcotics privately, but these people were rather bold about drug use ignoring it as a crime,'' the officer added.

An English teacher caught in the bust had smuggled 150 ecstasy tablets from Canada and sold them at clubs in Gangnam, while a bar worker sold 100 tablets smuggled from China, he said.

So yeah, this is separate drug bust from Joo Ji Hoon's case, so together with that case there is now at least 10 unidentified celebrities whose career is going down the drains in Korea. :-(

Se7en Breaks Through BET and Gets a New Manager

Se7en's music video "Girls, featuring LiL Kim" will premiere tomorrow on BET's 106 & Park at 6PM (The First Asian Artist to ever have their MV Premiered on BET). After the premiere, the music video will go into rotation on BET.

In addition to the premiere of "Girls," Allkpop has received confirmation that Johnny Wright will be co-managing Se7en alongside Red Queen Media, to take Se7en to the next level. For those of you unfamiliar with Johnny Wright, he's managed some of the biggest stars in America, including: New Kids on the Block, The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Stevie Brock, Ciara, The Jonas Brothers, and Menudo.

The first teasers into the drama is the cuts of each actors who are going to star in the drama, and the posters have been said to be ‘creepy’ and ’scary’ by netizens. One of the posters also feature T-ara JiYeon, who will be the female lead to the drama.
