Subaru Movie - TVXQ and Stephanie Cameos

One of the most awaited Japanese movies--Subaru--has finally been shown in Singapore.

This movie is special to TVXQ, CSJH The Grace, Koda Kumi, BoA (and etc.) fans and more because several of their hit songs have been chosen for the movie's sound track. It has TVXQ's Oricon #1 single "Bolero" and the Japanese version of "The Way U Are"; CSJH The Grace's (better known in Japan as Tenjochiki) main track from their 2nd Japanese album "Sukoshi de ii kara (A Bit of Good)" and a new song composed especially for the movie, "Coming to you"; BoA's "Eat You Up"; Koda Kumi's "Faraway" and more.

The fact that TVXQ and CSJH The Grace's Stephanie Kim were announced to have scenes in the movie also contributed to the movie's hype and popularity. TVXQ had a performance cameo and Stephanie was a part of the cast as the ballet instructor's assistant, perhaps as a tribute to her professional ballet background. Reports are that she appeared 5-6 times in the movie and acted splendidly. Many commented that she was very fluent in Japanese.

she's a good singer but i think her material is terrible. this PV always makes me lol, i love how her face is covered through 99% of it.

Well honestly in Japan the good singers don't always get the good material or hell material doesn't even need to be good as long as you got hella good people promoting you and shite. I only like two pvs but look I love someone who's second to last video budget was a projector and white drop screen...so I'm not one to mind if the video is flashy or not.

actually i think her singing style is one thing that holds her back. it would work in America or Korea, but typical Japanese voices are so different from that, they aren't particularly impressed by stuff like that. that's why voices like aiko and Hamasaki Ayumi are always voted the ~best~ in Japan, even though they their technique is a mess.

I do honestly feel a pop-rock style suits her best which she does alot for her b-sides and I believe "Friends" sort of had that feel. If she doesn't make it big but just strikes a chord with some fanbase and Sony or hell even if Avex picks her up if she gets dropped then I'll be happy.

It's weird she's not more popular, I've seen her blog pics and she's much prettier than her first few singles give her credit for. Looks wise she falls into the Lean Fuji, Marie, Alice, Leah Dizon look that is popular right now.
