2PM has run into trouble with its production staff after they ran into problems regarding their comeback music video shoot.

On May 11th, JYP Entertainment posted on their official website, "Hello. This is JYP Entertainment."

"2PM was planning to release their music video on June 1st, however 4 days ago Dexter Lab Production’s director Han Sa Min told us ‘Due to my personal relationship with an artist making a release at the same time I cannot shoot their music video.’ The one-sided announcement put an abrupt halt on 2PM’s production."

"Also on the same day, director Kim Ji Yong of Fantasy Lab told us suddenly that he would be discontinuing the shoot of GOT7’s music video."

"Due to their irresponsible actions, the schedules that were made with consideration of our artists’ busy schedule now has to be remade from shooting date, album release, and marketing strategy."

SM Entertainment has offered a formal apology after Red Velvet’s manager received much criticism for his attitude and behavior toward fans of the girl group.

On May 10, a representative of SM Entertainment shared, “It is true that the man seen in the video is Red Velvet’s manager. With this incident, we would like to express our sincere apology to the fans. We will make a strong effort in training [our managers] so that something like this does not happen again.”

Earlier, on May 8, a fan-taken video of the Red Velvet members on the way to their car following the “Music Bank” broadcast on this day became a hot topic, not because of the group, but due to the manager’s harsh behavior.

In the video, the manager could be seen and heard continuously yelling at the fans that had been waiting outside for the girls to finish up the music show broadcast. At one point, he also curses at the fans, even getting physical, as he holds them back or pushes them out of the way.

After this video spread online, fans and netizens began to criticize the manager, pointing out that the fans were not posing any kind of real threat to the members’ safety. This has become quite an issue, especially due to the fact that this incident occurred after the manager of SME labelmate EXO was fined at the end of last month for physically assaulting a fan.

It has been reported that BIGBANG will soon begin filming for two brand new music videos to be released with the next installment of their comeback project series, “MADE.”

Directors Seo Hyun Seung and Digipedi will be taking lead of these two upcoming music videos. Director Seo Hyun Seung was also the mastermind behind the music video for “BAE BAE,” as well as “Fantastic Baby” and 2NE1’s “I’m the Best.” On the other hand, director Digipedi took charge of Epik High’s “Born Hater” music video.

As the next two songs to be included in the final “MADE” album are scheduled to be released on June 1, BIGBANG is currently gearing up to enter filming for the coinciding music videos that will be revealed along with the tracks.

After issuing a statement that two production companies suddenly halted production on music videos for 2PM and GOT7, JYP Entertainment gave another official statement regarding one of the two companies.

On May 11, JYP Entertainment released an official statement regarding director Han Sa Min of Dextor Lab, a music video company that gave a notification that the company will not film 2PM's music video, just four days ahead of the scheduled shoot.

The issue with Director Kim Ji Yong of Fantasy Lab was said to have been discussed between the two companies and an agreement was made.

The following is JYP Entertainment′s official statement.

Because the nature of music video productions, involving both the artist and director, is a process that includes tuning the details regarding schedules, wardrobe, choreography, etc, and the overall concept, it′s a standard practice for the contract signing to take place right before or during filming.

Director Han Sa Min′s Dextor Lab began tuning schedules with the company in April and expressed that the first filming date that the company suggested was difficult, so the schedule was adjusted a second time and agreed upon.

Soon after, the company shared everything about the concept, including the song, the costumes, and the choreography, and director Han Sa Min and Dextor Lab attended all the planning meetings with 2PM and staff on April 28 and May 5, together tuning up and coming to an agreement regarding the detailed content of the music video production.

In addition, director Han Sa Min′s side sent a cost estimate sheet that included the costs of the filming set, filming time, cast, and other details that were confirmed from May 8 to the company, and the company as well as 2PM checked the details and prepared for the production.

However, just four days before the music video filming on May 9, Han Sa Min′s side suddenly called, saying, "Due to the relationship with an artist that will be coming out at the same time, it will be difficult for the production to take place," and one-sidedly notified that the production will stop.

Due to the irresponsible actions of director Han Sa Min and Dextor Lab, 2PM, who has been carrying out a schedule that was set with difficulty due to activities in and out of the country, was suddenly placed in a chaotic situation, in which the music video planning, filming, album release date, promotion and marketing plans must all be tuned up again.

Despite all of this, director Han Sa Min′s side is still evading responsibility with irresponsible words, and the company plans on taking strict legal action against the said production company. Thank you.

Following JYP Entertainment’s official statement regarding the delay of their agency artists’ – 2PM’s and GOT7’s – music videos and comebacks, the two directors mentioned in the statement spoke to media explaining their side of the story.

Previously, according to JYP Entertainment, the directors were “irresponsible” in one-sidedly backing out of the music video shoots shortly before filming was supposed to begin. JYP further announced that they would be taking legal action for damages incurred.

However, director Kim Ji Yong stated to OSEN that because the video concept didn’t match his style, he humbly declined the offer the day after he received the call.

“I had received an offer from JYP to shoot GOT7’s music video. We spoke over the phone regarding the filming schedule, and I received the music video plan the next day via email,” said Kim Ji Yong. “However, after receiving the file on the music video, it was completely different than what I had wanted to do, so I humbly declined. We hadn’t set anything in stone at the time, nor did we discuss anything specific, much less even mention a contract.”

He continues, “But when I saw the news today mentioning my name, I was really surprised. I’m worried for the future of my career. I’m afraid that our relationship will not be salvageable as a result of unfounded speculations and exaggerated reports.”

Singer-actor No Min Woo, who in the past had been active as the drummer of SM Entertainment’s group TRAX, has filed a suit against his former agency citing a slave contract and broadcast ban.

No Min Woo’s legal representatives JC Partners stated on May 11 that the actor filed the damage suit at the end of last month, as well as reported the agency to the Fair Trade Commission for unfair actions.

The actor’s side claims, “Before No Min Woo debuted, he ended up signing a contract spanning 17 years, as a result of SM Entertainment’s unilateral terms of contract extension. Truthfully, contracts extending over seven years are considered unfair, so taking issue in a 17-year contract is a matter of course.”

Moreover, No Min Woo’s representation states, “While the 17-year contract is an issue, in addition, as soon as No Min Woo showed signs of opposition [to the contract], SM halted all support activities expected of a management company. He did start activities again on his own, but SM Entertainment blocked his television appearances.”

“It goes to show how wronged No Min Woo must feel, to go to court with a huge management agency like SM over a contract that is already over,” continues the rep. “The development of this case will be something to see.”

Upon news of this lawsuit, SM responded via a statement to Star Today: “We plan to take legal action on all accounts regarding the groundless lawsuit and report [to the Fair Trade Commission].”
