SISTAR member Hyolyn is set to join the new series of MBC‘s singing contest show “I Am a Singer.” The star will take part in filming session for the new show, which will begin its third season this year. Shooting for the new series will start on January 21 in Seoul’s Digital Media City complex.
Hyolyn previously appeared on a Chuseok (Korean harvest festival holiday) season special of “I Am a Singer,” which aired in September last year, and became the first idol group singer to perform on the show.
The third season will air on Friday evenings at 10 p.m. KST beginning on January 30. The show’s producers have already hinted that the series may run for a total of 13 weeks.
Previous contestants on the show have included the likes of Insooni, Gummy and Bobby Kim.

Yoo Ah In has donated 100 million won.
Taking 100 million won from profits made through his clothing brand Newkids Nohant, Yoo Ah In recently donated to Beautiful Foundation, opening up the Newkids Yoo Ah In Charity Fund. The fund will be used to aid the Supporting Business for Youth Cultural Activities and tuition fees for university students retiring from the residential care center for adolescents.

New posters for MBC’s upcoming drama “Shine or Go Crazy” featuring the show’s star, Jang Hyuk, have been released.
The posters feature a charismatic Jang Hyuk, sword in hand, portraying his character, Prince Wang So. The character of Wang So is actually based on a real Goryeo king, Gwang Jong, and through Jang Hyuk’s portrayal we get a glimpse of how he may have actually looked.

Plot
SPY is based on the Israeli drama The Gordin Cell and modified to fit the North/South Korea relations.
The fictional story begins after the execution of real-life North Korean general Jang Sung-taek. One day an order comes down from North Korea, reactivating erstwhile spy Park Hye-rim who has spent decades in South Korea as an ordinary housewife. She is given the mission to turn and bring in her own son, Kim Seonu. Cool-headed, quick-witted genius Seonu is an information analyst on North Korea working for the NIS. The three had been seen in a YouTube clip getting hugs and kisses from members of the K-Pop band B1A4 at a mini-concert held at the Live Centre in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night.
Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) said today that the three K-Pop fans will be able to assist in its investigations.
The Star Online quoted Jawi director Paimuzi Yahya as saying that the actions of the women and band members went overboard, as it was against Islamic teachings and offended the sensitivities of the Muslim community.
"The Jawi enforcement division has opened an investigation under Section 29 of the Syariah Criminal Offences ( Federal Territories ) Act 1977 (Act 599 Indecent Acts in Public Places.)
"Those who are involved are asked to come forward to help in the investigation," he said in a statement today.
According to The Star Online, Paimuzi explained that the particular Act can be enforced against people who behave indecently and in contravention of Islamic law in a public place, and is punishable with fines of not more than RM1,000 or six months jail or both.
The three-minute video clip of the B1A4 stars hugging and kissing the female fans on stage went viral on social media yesterday, drawing much criticism from viewers.
The Star Online also reported that TGM Events, the organiser of the mini-concert have since expressed their regret over the incident and declared that the three Malay girls had willingly stepped onto the stage.

Ops note: I'm hoping that everything gets settled and that this isn't drawn out to long. I really don't know what to make of it really. If the three girls come forward, what are they going to do? Ask question? I had wonder if they would drag B1A4 into this, but from what I was reading from commentator that this applies to Muslims only. If I'm wrong and we have people who are a bit more knowledgeable about laws like the one stated in the article then please, by all means share with us. Sucks that something that was suppose to be a fun memorable day for those three girls got turned upside down. I can't even image how they must feel right now
