Girl’s Day’s Sojin Makes Instagram Account Private after Being Verbally Abused by EXO Fans

Girl’s Day member Sojin has deleted her Instagram profile picture and made her account private after being verbally abused and attacked by fans of EXO.

Netizens speculate that she decided to alter her privacy settings due to dating rumors regarding her and EXO’s D.O, which resurfaced at the end of last year. Sojin and D.O have been rumored to be in a relationship since early 2014, with most pieces of evidence being alleged couple items and secret messages. Recently, however, a photo of her nail art from March 2014 has been garnering newfound attention.

Last March, Sojin was seen attending a fashion show during 2014 Seoul Fashion Week with nails designed by famous nail artist Sense Hong. The nails were captured on camera by photographers at the event, and the nail artist also uploaded a photo of the design on her Instagram. The nails went relatively unnoticed until very recently, when a fan discovered an alleged expression of love for D.O painted on one of her nails. The design on her right middle finger seems to say “I <3 DO” or “I DO”.


Captions of the Instagram photo and her nail art have since began to spread on various online discussion boards, and some fans of EXO have expressed their anger and frustration by leaving malicious comments on Sojin’s Instagram. The comments include ones that criticize Sojin for being seven years older than D.O, calling her “an old lady” and saying, “Do you want to become the next wh*re after Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon?”



In the past, netizens have claimed that the two have gone on a fishing date after discovering similarities between D.O and a man behind Sojin, as seen in the photo below, and said that they are wearing couple rings and sneakers in the photos. In addition, D.O chose “All of Me” as his favorite song only a few days after Sojin performed the song at Girl’s Day’s concert. Sojin has also said during an interview that her first love lives in Gwangjin-gu, which happens to be where EXO’s dorm is located.

With all the negative press given to celebrity couples on instagram, it is wise to not post pictures when you're on a date.
