The music by modern rock band Nell, who returns after four years, has that kind of power. And the album that clearly shows that power is the band′s fourth album, Separation Anxiety, released in March of 2008. If you are a person who loves Nell’s music, it is an album that you had on repeat without even noticing.


And after four years, Nell has finally returned with a new album. It is the fifth album, Slip Away, and the band has us wondering, ‘What kind of music is in this one?’ If you are a person who loved A Time to Walk on Memories, then you’ll fall once more for the fifth album′s title song, The Day Before, as soon as you listen to it.

You may wonder what Nell has been doing for the past four years. Or why its music means so much to its fans. I sat down with the four men of Nell, Kim Jong Wan, Lee Jae Kyung, Lee Jung Hoon and Jung Jae Won and talked about their music.

Kangta Wishes to Produce Vocalist Group Outside of SM

Kangta revealed his plans to establish a label of his own for the first time.

The reveal came at Mnet′s The Voice of Korea press roundtable held in Seoul on May 4, when Kangta said, "I want to found a label and produce a vocalist group outside of SM. I′ve already talked it over with President Lee Soo Man. My convictions deepened while participating in The Voice of Korea as a coach."

"More than 50 percent of my SM juniors are great singers, but they′re looked down upon because they′re idols. I want to produce a vocalist group that can sometimes perform in idol performances. I think their looks can also meet lower standards compared to the current SM standards," he added.

"This label will be another challenge for me and for SM. I was determined to set it up when the timing was right, but now that I′m in The Voice of Korea, I can see that the market is suffering and everyone′s interests have gone on to something else. It′s been five years since I′ve been in a broadcast. I realized that I need to prepare even more perfectly. I don′t think it′ll be very long now [before it happens]."

Shin Seung Hoon, LeeSsang′s Gil and Baek Ji Young, the other coaches of the show, also attended the roundtable this day to talk about The Voice of Korea and their teams.

The May 4 live broadcast of The Voice of Korea had eight contestants battle against each other for a ticket to the finals. Four were eliminated, while four made it to the next round.

SECRET’s Song Ji Eun receives the center spot for her birthday

On May 5th, SECRET‘s Ji Eun celebrated her 22nd birthday.

On this day, she received special birthday treatment by getting the center spot in the group.

Ji Eun tweeted, “They let my have the center spot because it’s my birthday. Sunhwa and Zinger‘s fail heart… th..thanks guys. Leader unni missed it.”

The picture attached to Ji Eun’s tweet showed her happily standing in the center spot between Sunhwa and Zinger as they attempted to make a heart with their arms over Ji Eun’s head. Unfortunately, leaderHyosung couldn’t join them in the photo due to schedule conflicts.

Via me2day Sandara Park wrote “Little CL has an enjoyable day ^__^” and attached the above photo of CL jumping on a yellow smiley-face trampoline in celebration of South Korea’s national Children’s Day.

In Korea, May 5th is officially recognized as Children’s Day. Similar to Mother’s and Father’s Day, this is a day where Parents spend quality time with their children and give them presents.

'Nine dead' in fire at South Korea karaoke bar

A fire at a karaoke bar in the South Korean city of Busan has left at least nine people dead, according to police.

The dead are thought to include three Sri Lankan nationals, local media reports say.

Twenty five others were injured in the fire, which is reported to have broken out on Saturday evening.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang before smoke filled the bar. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police.

"Firefighters believe the fire might have been caused by a short circuit," a police spokesman told Agence France Presse.

Customers at the bar were unable to find exits due to smoke, police told the Yonhap news agency.

All of the victims died from inhaling toxic gases, police say.

One of the injured is reported to be in a serious condition, but none of the others is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

About 20 fire trucks and 100 firefighters battled the fire and extinguished it around 22:00 local time on Saturday (13:00 GMT),

S. Korea stamps down on 'human-flesh' pills: report

South Korea has stepped up customs inspections to stop the smuggling from China of pills made from dead human foetuses or deceased infants, a report said on Sunday.

The illegal importing to South Korea of "human-flesh" capsules -- taken by men who believe it enhances sexual performance but which could pose serious health hazards -- has increased since the first case was detected in August.

South Korean customs have so far uncovered 35 attempts to bring in a total of 17,451 capsules in travellers' luggage or by mail, the Yonhap news agency said.

The pills are contaminated with "super bacteria" and other disease-causing organisms, Yonhap said, quoting customs officials. Some pills were hidden in capsules of legitimate drugs to disguise their contents.

Yonhap quoted officials as saying they would strengthen inspections of drugs from the Chinese cities of Yanji, Qingdao and Tianjin, where many of the so-called "human-flesh" pills are believed to be produced

After claiming victory back in November by winning the “Best Worldwide Act“ at MTV’s 2011 Europe Music Awards, Big Bang has done it again!

In March, Big Bang was nominated for in the “Best Fan” category for the “MTV Italy TRL Awards 2012“. They had some tough competition against Alessandra Amoroso, Avril Lavigne, Emma, and One Direction. However, when the dust was all settled, Big Bang came out on top! This was confirmed through MTV Italy’s official TRL Awards website and also a tweet by Taeyang on his official twitter:

Recently, advertisement portal website TVCF announced new ranking charts, and 2PM took over the models chart. As a group, 2PM was placed at the first place, followed by Nichkhun and Taecyeon at second and third respectively. Wooyong, Junho, and Chansung were placed at 5th, 6th, and 7th place, and Junsu also made it to the top 10 TV commercial models at 9th.

KARA's Jiyoung teased about her weight on a variety show

Kara member Kang Jiyoung, affectionately known by her fans as ‘giant baby’, recently gained attention for her hilarious banter regarding her weight.

On the May 5th broadcast of KBS2TV‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘, the members gathered to play a game to see who was the quickest at eating crackers that were strung up on a pole. The catch was that each member who lost would be subject to standing on a weight scale.

Before the game began, comedian Boom brought up the topic of Kang Jiyoung’s weight by teasing, “We researched the G6 members’ weight on portal sites but we noticed that Kang Jiyoung’s weight didn’t show up!”

To this, Kang Jiyoung replied, “I weighted 101 lbs when I was skinniest. It’s not like that now.” When MC Kim Shin Young continued the investigation about her current weight by asking, “Are you over 110 lbs?” Jiyoung jokingly fired up and said, “Why would you ask me something like that?“, causing the set to burst into laughter.

Unfortunately, the day was far from over as Kang Jiyoung ultimately lost the game and had to dance on the weight scale as punishment. When Boom observed, “It looks like your weight won’t fall in the 90-110lbs range“, Jiyoung tried her best to side step the teases and ultimately ran away after unplugging the chord from the scale.

As all the members kept trying to get her back on the scale, Jiyoung finally gave in and jumped on the scale with all her might. The scale ultimately indicated a weight over 175lbs, drawing the hilarious incident to an end with a great laugh.
