Pledis Entertainment‘s managing director has dropped some new details on After School and Orange Caramel‘s upcoming releases this year!

In a recent Twitter update, the director revealed that After School was preparing for their fifth Korean single, fourth Japanese single, and that Orange Caramel was also preparing for their first album.

His update read:

“Starting tomorrow, we’ll be preparing for After School’s fifth Korean single by editing, preparing for recording, album jacket photoshoots, and finally the music video filming. The members will only be in town for a short while this month so we have to prepare thoroughly…

After School’s fourth Japanese single is off to a good start preparation wise because the girls have been getting a lot of invites from Japanese music programs. Japanese promotions will begin this month, and the girls will be returning on June 21st. Anyway, I have a feeling both their Korean and Japanese singles will do well.

Orange Caramel’s first Korean album’s demo is nearly finalized as well and we’ll be recording soon. They’ll probably be recording the majority of it in their Japanese studio, but our team is always happy to be producing for Orange Caramel ^____^.

And finally, After School will be releasing their sixth Korean single when the cold wind begins to blow…”

Yoochun to be a public service worker instead of being in the army

JYJ's Park Yu-chun received a class four physical disability rating from a medical examination at the Military Manpower Administration, which means he will undertake his conscription service as a reserve conscript, most likely working as a public service worker. Those who are given a rating of four are exempt from full military training and act as reserve conscripts, often undertaking less strenuous or administrative duties for the military.

The reason for the rating is thought to be Park's asthma issues. According to an exclusive by Internet news site Dispatch, Park has undergone a series of three medical examinations over the past two years and the final verdict was given to him this year.

Park is scheduled to undertake training as a reserve conscript on May 21. However, as the drama "Rooftop Prince" in which he is starring currently has yet to finish, it is unknown whether Park will attend the training sessions or not. A representative from the military said that in celebrity cases a postponement of training is possible if the individual has a legitimate excuse.

Remember the girl group hierarchy chart from February that ranked girl groups in order of popularity?

Well, that chart apparently got an update by fans from online community boards recently. It turns out over the past two months, SISTAR made a huge push and put themselves a level up to join Brown Eyed Girls, miss A, and f(x) in the “Socialite Level.” Their recent success with “Alone,” which gave them #1 awards on music shows contributed to their success, according to the chart.

With comebacks from many top artists like JYJ's Junsu, Baek Jiyoung, Ulala Session, IU, Leessang, Infinite, and 2NE1 just around the corner, music site Monkey3 recently held a poll asking participants for the one they were most anticipating.

The survey eventually yielded JYJ's Junsu in first place with forty percent of the votes. Ahead of the release of his first solo album, Junsu has released the teaser poster and album name ("Xia Tarantallegra"), greatly increasing the amount of anticipation surrounding it.

IU, with her new album "Spring at the Age of Twenty," came in second in the poll.

The third, fourth and fifth placings were made up of Infinite, Leessang, and Ulala Session respectively.

On the May 2nd broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, actor Kim Hee Won boasted about his unexpected friendship with Won Bin.

“Won Bin is very quiet,” he began. “Even when we film, he sits in the corner all alone. He takes his work very seriously.”

“One time we were in the elevator together, and he asked if I wanted to get a cup of coffee,” he continued. “It was about 1 or 2 in the morning, and we talked about acting and work until almost 10 in the morning.”

“He has a lot of passion for acting,” he added. As Won Bin seemed to only express interest in acting, Kim Hee Won revealed, “I asked him if he dated, and he said that he didn’t.”

He then further surprised everyone on set by saying, “I asked if he ever engaged in ‘skinship’ with a woman, and he said he never has.”

If Won Bin really is more interested in acting than dating, this may come as a bit of sad news for 2NE1‘s Dara who selected Won Bin as someone she would like to date.

Like the rumors say, are the top girl groups out to get each other?

Rumors started springing up over why SISTAR didn’t appear onstage when 4minute won its no. 1 trophy on a music show. The absence proved to be puzzling as usually all singers, seniors and juniors alike, go onstage to congratulate the winner of the day.

4minute won its trophy on the May 3 live broadcast of Mnet’s M Countdown after battling out SISTAR and Busker Busker. Many singers, including Shinhwa, the longest-running 14 year old idol group, gathered onstage to congratulate the group for its win.

4Minute’s direct competitor SISTAR, however, was nowhere to be seen onstage, which brought up rumors that SISTAR was on bad terms with 4Minute due to the win.

In the end, it turned out the suspicions were ungrounded when it was revealed that SISTAR wasn’t able to stay until the end of the show because it had to be rushed to Busan for a performance. The group had stayed until just before the announcement of the winner, but then couldn’t stay any longer and had to move. As such, the rumors turned out to be a simple misunderstanding.

4minute is currently promoting its single Volume Up, while SISTAR is acting as the group’s rival with its single Alone, from its first mini album.

Music Bank Orders Singers to Prerecord Live Music

Due to the ongoing strike, it has been confirmed that KBS’s Music Bank has been ordering the performing singers to prerecord their music to sound like a live performance.

An anonymous source affiliated with the music industry met with enews and revealed, “We received an order from the staff at Music Bank to record our music to be like a live performance.”

He further explained that the Music Bank staff was taking precautions, in case the audio team and other staff members are affected by the on-going strike.

From a glance, it may seem like a safety measure, but in the order to make artists prerecord their music to sound live, there is a small intention to trick the viewers. In the case that it becomes hard to operate normally due to the strike, the program is planning to trick the audience into thinking that it is a live broadcast.

It plans on playing the live broadcast-like AR (All Recorded, including the artists’ voices as well as the rest of the music) with the MR (Music Recorded, featuring just the instrumentals), to create a makeshift of a live broadcast.

In other words, it is an action that deceives viewers. Of course, other music related employees state, “Depending on the situation, the broadcast will run as usual without the special AR.”

Even so, due to the fact that the broadcast staff asked the singers for this kind of errand, it is hard to hide the bitterness.

Singer Se7en is back in Japan and is earnestly going into activities.

On the 3rd, Se7en had a showcase to introduce his new song "Love Again" in Tokyo, Japan. The event attracted around 5,000 Japanese fans who gathered together to show their support, showing how popular Se7en is in the country.

At the event on that day, Se7en sang ten songs, including his new song, "Even When I Can't Sing," to which fans sang along to. In addition, during that day, in the middle of Se7en's stage, 2NE1, which is a group that also hails from YG Entertainment with Se7en, made a suprise appearance, attracting attention. G.NA to make a comeback later this month

It was recently announced that solo artist G.NA will be making her comeback at the end of the month.

On May 4th, Cube Entertainment revealed that G.NA was currently in the process of producing the second half of her album that was aimed to be released at the end of May. It has almost been nine months since G.NA last promoted, as she promoted her second mini-album, "Top Girl" last year in August.

She is set to join an array of powerhouse solo artists that include Ivy, Baek Jiyoung, Son Dambi, IU as well as Lee Hyori who will all be promoting and making a return around the same time.

A representative also stated that G.NA paired with famous composer Kim Dohoon, and that she will showcase a more mature style within her songs.

Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon displayed both her fierce and elegant charms.

On May 4th, the most anticipated ‘Dancing With The Stars‘ team of Hyoyeon and coach Kim Hyung Suk were the last to perform a tango dance to “Hotel California“.

Hyoyeon who is fairly new to the show followed the lead of her male partner, looking ever so elegant and sexy as she moved.

Though she admitted that engaging in so much ‘skinship’ while dancing was a bit awkward, she did not let it show and the two put on a believable ‘playing hard to get’ performance.

Song Seung Hwan remarked, “I’m impressed that you found the time to rehearse the moves, despite being the busiest person in all of Korea. I think you only gave us a taste of what’s to come, and I am looking forward to your next performance.”

Alex Kim then added, “I think Latin dance suits you well, you danced the tango nicely. I am looking forward to next week.”

Hyoyeon and her partner were given a score of ’6′ by each the three judges, earning a total of 18.

Junsu’s reveals track list and album cover for ‘Tarantallegra’

JYJ‘s Junsu will unveil his first solo album ‘Tarantallegra‘ on May 15th and more information has been released.

On May 4th, C-JeS‘s official website added Junsu’s album on their online store and revealed the album cover along with the tracklist. The album will contain 12 tracks in total and it seems he received support from his fellow JYJ member Jaejoong (producer) along with his brother JUNO (composer). Korean American rapper FLOWSIK of AZIATIX will also be featured in the song “Tarantallegra“.
