Yoochun to be a public service worker instead of being in the army

JYJ's Park Yu-chun received a class four physical disability rating from a medical examination at the Military Manpower Administration, which means he will undertake his conscription service as a reserve conscript, most likely working as a public service worker. Those who are given a rating of four are exempt from full military training and act as reserve conscripts, often undertaking less strenuous or administrative duties for the military.

The reason for the rating is thought to be Park's asthma issues. According to an exclusive by Internet news site Dispatch, Park has undergone a series of three medical examinations over the past two years and the final verdict was given to him this year.

Park is scheduled to undertake training as a reserve conscript on May 21. However, as the drama "Rooftop Prince" in which he is starring currently has yet to finish, it is unknown whether Park will attend the training sessions or not. A representative from the military said that in celebrity cases a postponement of training is possible if the individual has a legitimate excuse.

this! i know smoking is their choice, i don't have a problem with idols smoking or anyone for that matter. but i you know you have an existing condition and smoking makes it worse, maybe you need to stop.

Heechul's car accident has permanently damaged his leg. Last I heard he couldn't even run on it....at least in the Runningman ep all get could do was speed walk...and not quickly.

I presumed that's why he's not on active duty.

People in twitter were going "oppar nooooooooooooo!" then they realized yoochun's not actually going at the moment. lol. He even tweeted "Let's smile". then a few minutes later he tweeted again saying "I said smile, don't cry!!!!" lol.

I really understand his asthma, it's really bad. And his smoking didn't even make it even better. Last I heard though, he refused a smoke from his drama staffs when offered. I guess that's a good start? or he might be smoking a chimney right now idk

Why can't JYJ just enlist together so they can come back together. Then fans just need to wait two years for them, instead of like forever if they go at different times, like ShinHwa did! If one has asthma and smokes, it can lead not just to cancer but also to emphysema which is a really debilitating ling disease.

Actually, Yoochun said that his asthma get better when they are on tour (during his thsk days). I guess it't the regular exercise and healthy living.
During the 'T' tour, his asthma got soo much better that he can adopt Harang.

Almost every celeb that goes in the military is serving as a public service officer. A few go active but for the most part all of them get desk jobs.

i'm not saying that this is an 'excuse' or whatever, but how often do normal citizens get exempted for things like asthma? it seems like so many people in k-ent get it easy in the army for various issues. i'm sure a good amount of them are legitimate but every time i see these posts it really makes me wonder.

Well, the army is hardly likely to want guys running around on active service coughing up a lung, slowing others down, taking a load of medical leave and generally getting in the way, are they? The thing with the celebs is they actually aren't fit and healthy young guys in their late teens and early 20s like most service personnel (the ones I saw in Korea all looked about 12, actually). They're older and they tend to have had years of exhausting, physically taxing schedules, serous dance injuries, degenerative bad backs, things like asthma that might be fine for an average office guys but which are made worse by the exertion of performing for years. I just reckon a much higher proportion of them are a bit busted as compared with the general 18-24 male population.

Also, I reckon officers might not be too keen on having guys older than them, especially famous guys, under their command. Must be awkward if you're used to bossing kids around.

I REALLY do not know what I should do when Yunho, Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin go to the army. No kidding, WHO should I stan then? WTF.
