Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu loses 22 lbs in 10 days?!

It’s been revealed that Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu lost a whopping 22 pounds in just ten days in order to film for Mighty Mouth’s new music video, “La La La“.

On June 20th, Sangchu revealed two photos that showed his ‘Before & After’ self. In the first photo, he has a big belly that is sticking out, but in the second photo, he is seen posing with perfect ’six-pack’ abs.

His agency explained, “In order to film for a scene where he had to wear a swimsuit, Sangchu replaced his meals with pumpkin sweet potatoes and ran around the Han River everyday. Through this method, he was able to lose 1 kg a day for ten days, and lost a total of 10 kg (about 22 lbs), making a rapid and dramatic transformation from a heavier body to one with perfect ’six-pack’ abs. Although he only had a short time to lose weight, he kept up a strict diet and exercise routine.”

After seeing the photos, netizens left comments such as, “Is it really possible to do that in 10 days?”, “Whoa he has perfect abs“, and “I want to receive training lessons from Sangchu.”

Sports Seoul brought together 100 idols currently promoting in the industry for an ‘idol awards’ survey focusing on the first half of 2011.  They were asked to choose the best hit track, the hottest music video, the most addictive songs, and more, so check out the results below!

Singer/producer J.Y. Park recently sent a warm message to 2AM’s Jo Kwon to commemorate his 10 year anniversary as an employee and junior under JYP Entertainment.

On July 1st, J.Y. Park tweeted, “Wow! Kwon-ah, it’s been 10 years since we first met. Thank you for always being the same humble, beautiful, and hard-working person that you are.”

In response, Jo Kwon tweeted, “Thank you. I will never forget the look you gave me when I first auditioned. I wonder what meaning that look held.”

Jo Kwon later tweeted to his followers, “I think today is the day that I should look back to 10 years ago…It’s been 10 years since I took part in the gifted and talented development audition and now look at where I am…I cannot forget the nervousness and anxiousness from my first audition on July 1st. BOYFRIEND twins Youngmin and Kwangmin recently posed with their look-alike senior, Kim Hyun Joong.

The boys appeared on SBS’s ‘Truth Game‘ 5 years ago and gained lots of attention for being Kim Hyun Joong look-alikes. Having recorded Happy Together Season 3 together recently, they reunited with their doppelganger again while waiting to perform at M! Countdown yesterday.

Kim JaeWook to enter military on July 5

Singer, model and actor Kim JaeWook will enter the military next week, according to his agency ESteem Models on Friday.

A company spokesman also said that Kim be in the military for the next two years starting July 5 to fulfill the duty required of all Korean men.

He will serve as an active-duty soldier after undergoing several weeks of basic training, the official said, but refrained from revealing further details regarding his entry.

Kim, 28, debuted in 2002 but came into the spotlight after appearing in smash hit drama "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" (MBC, 2007) and has since made several more appearances on the small and big screen including film "Antique" (2008) and the dramas "Bad Boy" (SBS, 2010) and "Marry me, Mary” (KBS, 2010).

He turned a vocalist for his current rock band Walrus in late January of this year which released their first single album “Walrus."

Most recently, he played the role of main character Hedwig in famed musical production "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" but exited the show about two weeks ago to prepare for his military entrance.

Jinyoung, Shinwoo, Sandeul, Baro, Gongchan. It has only been 2 months since their debut. Soaring with their hot debut album Let's Fly as they scream 'O.K' excitedly, B1A4 has now started promotions with a serious ballad follow-up song 'Only Learned The Bad Things'/

How did these good-looking young men known for being like manhwa character before debut come together? According to Baro who is in charge of rap, a friend saw his picture on Cyworld and contacted the current agency, hence him meeting the members. At his auditions, Baro sang Jo Sumi's If I Leave (나가거든) and Sung Sikyung's The Road to Me (내게 오는 길). He also performed a little rap and beatbox, truly showcasing a variety of talents.

Leader Jinyoung had always wanted to be in the entertainment industry, and a singer. A picture from Cyworld was reuploaded to an Internet cafe, where his current agency saw it and casted him. Jinyoung has auditioned for the role of Gonggil in movie 'The King and The Clown'. He is a child with prior acting experiences with minor roles in dramas.

Tiger JK wins 'best cover model' at the "Men’s Health Cool Guy Contest"

On June 30th, Tiger JK attended the “Men’s Health Cool Guy Contest” and was honored with the title of ‘best cover model’!

Held at the Seoul Central City Millennium Hall, the event was also attended by 2AM, who won the title of ‘honorable cool guy’, actress Lee Yoon Ji, who won the ‘vital woman’ award, and singer Bada, who won the ‘best singer’ award.

The “Men’s Health Cool Guy Contest” is in its sixth year running this year and is a contest that chooses the best adult male with a healthy and strong image both inside and out.

2PM’s Taecyeon confesses his love for Sohee~

2PM’s Taecyeon surprisingly confessed his love for Wonder Girls‘ Sohee while on air during a radio broadcast.

On June 29th, 2PM appeared on MBC FM’s ‘Younha’s Starry Night‘.

During the program, Younha discussed the group’s various celebrity friends by saying, “As soon as the teaser for ‘Hands Up‘ was released, 2PM’s [celebrity] relationships gained lots of attention. Everyone started promoting 2PM’s new album.”

Taecyeon responded by saying, “Since SNS developed a lot, many people helped us. Our friends supported us a lot by promoting our album online.”

When asked the question, “Who do you think helped you out the most?“, Taecyeon stated, “Wonder Girls’ Sohee.” He then confessed his love for the idol, saying, “Thanks for saying, ‘Oppa, Can I trust you? OK?’ beautifully. I love you.”

After the radio broadcast, listeners commented, “You must have been really thankful“, “You two seem really close“, and “Heechul must be jealous.”

While guesting on ‘Younha’s Starry Night’, 2PM also performed “Hands Up” and “Don’t You Know” live in the studio for their fans.

A recent tweet from Jang Woo Hyuk has got fans excited for a possible JTL reunion!

On July 1st, Jang Woo Hyuk tweeted, “It’s been a long time. [July] 7th coming soon,” along with a photo of the former JTL members, Tony Ahn and Lee Jae Won.

For those of you who aren’t well-versed in old school Kpop, JTL was a group consisting of three members from H.O.T. that formed after the three decided to part ways with SM Entertainment.

In the picture, Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony Ahn, and Lee Jae Won show off their charisma while posing next to a luxurious sports car. While it seems like the three are filming a music video in the photo, Jang Woo Hyuk never clarified any reasons nor explanations behind their sudden reunion.

In response, fans commented, “Is it a JTL reunion?”, “It looks like they filmed a music video together. They’re the best for keeping up their friendship”, “It would be better if Moon Hee Jun and Kangta were there too”, “It makes me think of old times”, and “It already has me in anticipation!”

Acting Idol awards for the first half of 2011

Starring in variety shows, dramas, and other TV programs through the small screen are one of the best ways for idol stars to connect with their fans. For this reason, it has become a big phenomenon to be a guest on the popular variety shows. This is also the reason for the increase in idol singers gaining popularity through starring in various TV shows. There are also many idols starring in dramas while maintaining their base profession as a singer.

Sports Seoul recently surveyed 100 idol group members, to see who the best ‘idol actor/actress’ and ‘variety idol’ was for the first half of 2011. Through this survey, the public was able to see the idol’s talent and skills shown in other areas rather than just performances on stage.

SKorea threatens to shut soccer league over fixing

The South Korean government has threatened to shut down its professional soccer league if more K-League teams are involved in the match-fixing scandal.

The Sports Ministry said Friday that Vice Minister Park Sun-kyoo issued the warning in a meeting with soccer officials the previous day.

The ministry cited Park as saying it may eliminate a soccer club from the K-League if its players are found to have received kickbacks in return for attempting to rig the results of games. Park says the entire K-League would be closed down if its determined that several teams are linked to the match-fixing scandal.

Prosecutors last month indicted 14 people, including 10 K-League players, in the ongoing scandal.

A former K-League player, who allegedly worked as a broker, was found dead in an apparent suicide in May.

Popular singer Yim Jae-beom's stage performance sporting a Nazi uniform has become the subject of disputes on the Internet.

Chin Jung-kwon, a progressive culture critic and composer Kim Hyung-suk have publicly exchanged verbal salvos on Twitter about the appropriateness of Yim's wearing a Nazi uniform on stage.

Yim, who rose to stardom for his appearance on the TV show "I Am a Singer" performed wearing a Nazi military uniform for his concert at Seoul's Olympic Park gymnasium on June 25 and 26.

Yim wore the outfit when singing "Paradom", a song about the tragedies of people living underground in a world devastated by nuclear war. Yim took off the Nazi uniform toward the end of the performance to send a message against war.

During the performance, he reportedly yelled: "No Hitler", "Htiler is dead", and "Heil freedom" to express opposition to dictatorship.
