COBU 3D Wraps Up; BoA & Derek Hough on Entertainment Tonight USA

Entertainment Tonight, a U.S. based daily tabloid television news show, featured Derek Hough and BoA as part of their feature for "COBU 3D". BoA recently finished filming for her debut U.S. dance film in Toronto, Canada, with the "Dancing With The Star" dancer.

While the interview with Entertainment Tonight is mostly concentrated on Derek Hough, BoA fans can still see the Asian star throughout the video. A scene from the movie itself is also revealed where Donny (Derek Hough) compliments Aya (BoA) on her dancing and drumming skills. Donny wonders what "Cobu" means to which BoA replies, "It means...dance like drumming...drum like dancing..."

During the formal interview, BoA and Derek Hough reveals that despite their difference in dance styles, they were able to keep up with each other. "He's always pushing to me to do this, this, this," said BoA to Entertainment Tonight.

Regarding BoA, Derek said, "She works really hard but just very different. She [dances] with the cameras rolling and I got to keep up with her!"

Aya and Donny grew up in different environment, but eventually meet at an underground New York club. Aya and Donny first begin to hate each other, but are then put into a Romeo and Juliet situation as both of their brothers own rival clubs. A kissing scene between BoA and Derek Hough was released on the gossip site Too FAB and has rocked the world of both BoA and Derek Hough's fans.

"COBU 3D" is set to be released next year in 2012.

Rookie singer Shin Go Eun releases debut MV for 'Love Pop'

On June 30th, rookie singer Shin Go Eun unleashed an MV for her debut title track, “Love Pop”.
“Love Pop” was produced and composed by Lee Seung Gil, who is well known for his works on Hong Kyung Min’s album, as well as numerous OSTs for dramas such as “Oh! Pil Seung, Bong Soon-Young” and “Sunshine Hunting”.
The song holds a sweet and rhythmical melody that is easy on the ears. The lyrics of “Love Pop” tell a story about a girl who finds it hard approaching the man of her dreams.

Landmark EU-South Korea trade deal takes effect

A free trade pact between the European Union and South Korea, the first such deal linking Asia and the world's largest economic bloc, came into effect on Friday, bringing with it sweeping changes.

The deal will eventually do away with 98.7 percent of duties and is expected to boost trade by tens of billions of euros a year, slash more than two billion euros in tariffs annually and create an estimated 250,000 jobs in South Korea.

The Wall Street Journal quoted EU trade commissioner Karel De Gucht as describing the pact as "the most ambitious trade deal ever concluded by the EU and should become a game-changer for our trade relations with Asia".

While some studies suggest the South Korean car and electronic sectors will benefit from access to the EU market, others point to likely increased sales of EU industrial machines and luxury goods in South Korea, he added.

South Korean trade organisations expressed hope the deal would boost South Korea's market share in the European Union, which stood at 1.0 percent, compared with China's 7.1 percent.

The state-financed Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) said the deal was expected to boost the EU-South Korea bilateral trade as much as 20 percent in the long term.

Refrigerant gas kills four in S.Korea shop: Police

FOUR South Korean workers died after apparently inhaling toxic gas while trying to fix a giant refrigerator at a discount supermarket near Seoul, police said on Saturday.

The four were found lying unconscious in the basement of the E-Mart in Ilsan, 30km north-west of Seoul, early on Saturday and rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were all pronounced dead.

Mr Kim Kil Soo, an emergency official handling the case, told journalists that the four mechanics had apparently been asphyxiated by gas leaking from the refrigerator.

E-Mart is one of South Korea's largest retail chains.

Forensic experts plan to conduct an autopsy on the bodies to determine the exact cause of death, police official Yoon Hee Seog said

South Korea to Do Away with Printed Textbooks


South Korean students will soon say goodbye to heavy school bags, with the Education Ministry announcing a 2.2 trillion won (S$2.4 billion) plan this week to digitalize all textbooks by 2015.

This means students may go to school with just a tablet computing device, such as the Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The meaning of their group name B1A4 is one filled with resolution, and emphasizes on teamwork. That is due to the fact that since the first time they met as trainees 2 years ago, up until now, they have never fought. It was clear that even during the interview, no matter who spoke, they would trust and rely on each other.

Horror movie "White: Melody of Death" is coming to Los Angeles!

New horror movie, "White: Melody of Death" had it's VIP premier in Korea on May 30th. It hit theaters on June 9th in Korea. "White: Melody of Death" stars T-ara's Eunjung. She plays the leader of a girl group that keeps a dark secret.

"White: Melody of Death" is Eunjung's first lead role in a movie. The film also stars solo artist Maydoni, Choi Ara, and Jin Seyun. 2PM's Junho and members of After School also made cameo appearances in the film.

Due to the success of "White: Melody of Death," the horror film will be coming to Los Angeles for one day only. It will be shown with English subtitles at CGV Cinemas in Los Angeles on July 8, 2011 only!

On July 2nd, the members posted a photo and message through their homepage thanking fans for all of the love and support they received this year.

The photo was taken after their performance at the Music Bank half-year special and they wrote, “Hello, we’re TVXQ! Thank you so much for all of the love and support you gave us during our promotions. We will continue to work even harder.. thank you and we love you.”

The big change has been teased for a while, but the stills are out to prove it at last: Park Yoochun finally sheds the bowl cut he’s been rockin’ for ten episodes of his MBC melodrama Miss Ripley and unveils a shorter, fresher, frankly much more attractive hairstyle for upcoming episodes.

Sure, the straight-banged helmet hair he’s been sporting thus far had its own boyish effect, which worked with his character’s innocent appeal and good-natured optimism. Still, change is good, no? The shorter look ages him a little, which is good since it makes him look a little more masculine, and a little less “There there, eat your vegetables and I’ll tell you a bedtime story.”

No doubt this external change mirrors an internal one for his chaebol character, Song Yoo-hyun, in Miss Ripley. In recent episodes, he’s been enjoying his blossoming romance with liar-liar-tight-pants-on-fire (anti-)heroine Miri (Lee Da-hae), but as her lies quickly grow from molehill proportions to mountains, no doubt there’s more angst in the couple’s future.

Miss Ripley airs Mondays and Tuesdays, and Yoochun’s new look will be revealed in Monday’s Episode 11.
