And Now Some Videos for Your Listening and Viewing Pleasure
Jaewon's last co-hosting gig of Arirang Radio's Mid-Day Break "King of Quiz" segment (6/29):
Jaewon continuing to make that money by also being a co-host on KBS K-Wave Station (which also features short segments on equally flawless BoA and Dalmatian):
The boys at a concert, covering their idols song, "Love In The Ice". Japanese fans continue to not give a fuck about fandom rivalries and enjoy the performance. (As should everyone else, tbh)

Date: 2011-07-02 08:36 pm (UTC)Whatever, all I can say is that they're missing out on a talented and amazing group like Code-V because they want to defend their opparz over some shit-stirring article that DBSK prolly isn't aware of.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-02 08:44 pm (UTC)& well said. i really pity the people that won't give them a chance. :/ they really are one of my most favorite groups. talented, funny, nice, ambitious, cute.. what's not to like?

Date: 2011-07-02 08:55 pm (UTC)I wish they weren't so under the radar though.

Date: 2011-07-02 06:07 pm (UTC)they better be themselves if them want to succeed
btw is that their own concert? if it is then good for them, they have more fans than i thought.

Date: 2011-07-02 06:16 pm (UTC)and good luck on surviving the hate, side eyeing whoever place them against DBSK for marketing, they're doing fine on their own jfc, why adding the hate <.

Date: 2011-07-02 06:28 pm (UTC)Also, maybe not the smartest strategy to cover that song by that artist at this moment. Especially not after the controversy on the interview.

Date: 2011-07-02 07:04 pm (UTC)It's a cover, just a fucking cover.
I'm a diehard fan of TVXQ myself but I don't go batshit crazy when another group covers my favorite group's song. I see it more as flattering than anything, that they liked and respected TVXQ enough to cover one of their best songs, that's how I feel about covers of any song. But smh at some Cassies throwing their hate at Code-V for this in the comments of that youtube video. They did a good job, maybe it wasn't the smartest move, but they did a good job and shouldn't be thrown hate for it.

Date: 2011-07-02 10:11 pm (UTC)- it's not wrong for them to set their sights high. even if they won't reach dbsk status, at least they have that goal in mind.
- their leader even clarified that they didn't mean what they said in that interview to be misconstrued to the extent it has been
- fact: people like more than one group; shouldn't be a surprise that there can be some cassies who do like code-v/bless
- read that article again, and one member says that the japanese fans seem to confuse him for jaejoong.
- the japanese concert goers and code-v themselves are well aware that they aren't dbsk and that they're just covering a song.
- stay pressed?

Date: 2011-07-02 11:28 pm (UTC)correction, it was one member that said that. one ANONYMOUS member, not the group as a whole.
but i'm pretty sure that the article was either lost in translation or the interviewer made it seem way worse than it sounded. i honestly doubt code-v is that dumb. in fact, they seem like really intelligent men.
& idk what you hear, but in that video all i hear is code-v sounding like code-v. i've never heard the original dbsk song, but i can tell you that is code-v being themselves. ever think they didn't want to stray far from the song because they wanted to capture it's original beauty?
you do sound pressed tbh.

Date: 2011-07-03 12:12 am (UTC)but code-v also said that people in japan sometimes mistaken them for dbsk.. well there's 5 of them, they're korean, & they all sing very well.. um, so? i don't see anything wrong with that as well.
then one of the members said that when dbsk broke up some of their fans also became their fans. lol this is just stupid & i'm not going to comment any further on this besides the fact that people can like as many groups as they want. code-v interacts with their fans A LOT (they even go out to eat with them & go shopping!) so i wouldn't doubt it if they saw that their fans are also fans of dbsk.
then sol said that sometimes people would say he looks like jaejoong. ngl i do see it but at the same time i don't, i just think they have similar styles.
but all-in-all i'm just going to point out that interviewers always try to make things seem worse than they are--they want a story, & that's exactly what they got with code-v's interview. i can confidently say that either the interviewer twisted their words or it was just a shitty translation. these guys are too nice & too intelligent for that shit.

Date: 2011-07-03 02:25 am (UTC)your asking for what reason why they said it makes it seem that you're implying that they have an agenda. i'm pretty sure the only thing on their minds is just singing and putting on good performances and doing the best they can. the interviewer asked it, they answered. now, translations from that post on omona and allkpop (if i recall the source correctly) could be a factor in how the final article was presented to us english-speaking fans, so i can understand how it can put them on the cassie's shit-list, but it helps to do more research instead of flying off the handle and putting a target on them. did it ever cross any of these hating cassie's mind: "why would any idol group disrespect their peers/seniors in that manner? it doesn't make sense."
when dbsk split, i'm pretty sure a lot of cassies felt like them split up weren't going to be as amazing as the five together, so can you blame those fans for jumping ship or just diverting their fanatical energy somewhere else? again, it's not code-v's fault that their fans stated to them that they used to be fans of dbsk. they're going by what their fans tell them and what they're experiencing from the people they interact with.
that's all i'm really gonna say about it. it's unfortunate that you feel that way about code-v though based on one, possibly mistranslated, article.

Date: 2011-07-02 09:24 pm (UTC)But still don't understand why companies haven't learned that when you use TVXQ's name when marketing your group. It ussually does not end well.
Hope these guys continue to do well in Japan :D
