5 member Korean male group SHINee's Japanese debut single "Replay -You are my Everything-" (released on 22nd) sold 91,000 copies in its first week, ranking in 2nd place on the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking for 7/4. These sales have exceeded Super Junior's "Bijin (BONAMANA)" sales of 59,000 copies, and set the record for highest debut single sales for a Korean group. (this is excluding releases by group sub-units)
This also ties the record by other Korean groups' debut singles who came in ranked at #2, which include Beast "SHOCK"(3/28), MBLAQ "Your Luv"(5/16), and SUPER JUNIOR "Bijin (BONAMANA)"(6/20).

ZE:A has just released a concept photo from their upcoming special single, “Watch Out“, a real treat for fans who are patiently waiting for the official release on July 8th.
With Jeju Island’s scenery as their backdrop, the nine members are dressed from head to toe in white for a comprehensively fitting look for the hot summer.
The group promises a brand new start with their comeback as well as 200% of their efforts for ‘Heart For 2‘.

Within a month, Cha Ji-yeon, 29, has gone from obscurity to renown in the music industry. That may seem like an instant in a world where stars are born and flame out quickly, but Cha’s whirlwind success has actually been years in the making.
It all started in May when she appeared as a backup singer with Yim Jae-bum on “Survival: I Am a Singer,” a popular reality TV show. Though the segment was short, Cha managed to captivate the audience.
She also managed to impress a few record company executives, who offered her a recording contract. She released her first single, “Where Are You?”, at the end of the month.

K-pop flash mob to hit Europe

The K-pop wave continues to sweep through Europe.
After the Hallyu hit Paris earlier this month via SM Entertainment’s “SM Town Live World Tour,” European K-pop fans are planning to stage a flash mob demonstration to request a concert with singers of YG Entertainment.
A public event titled “Bring YG to the UK” was created on Facebook and is expected to attract hundreds of fans to the rally at Trafalgar Square on July 9.
At the event, K-pop aficionados will be picketing to show their affection for Korean pop culture by singing and dancing to songs by Se7en, Big Bang, 2NE1 and other famous singers managed by YG Entertainment.

Shopping mall Mutnam, the official provider of Block B merchandise, has just updated its website with new videos and photos of the group, along with products for sale.
The making film is a collage of cuts from Block B’s photoshoot for the website. The boys look chic and comfortable in their new merchandise, black tees sporting their trademark ‘B’ thumbs up logo, which is available in two different designs.
In the interview video, Block B members explained that they chose Mutnam as their official provider because of the company’s quality and good reputation in the clothing industry.

Poseidon may air afterall

After film delays and losing its airdate on SBS earlier this year, many of drama's lead characters had left the show. In early June, it was then confirmed that Shinhwa's Eric had also turned in his resignation to star in MBC drama "Myungwol the Spy," leaving TVXQ's Yunho one of the only lead actors still left in the show. With that news, it was reported that "Poseidon" had been officially cancelled.
Now it has been announced by the producer Annex Telecom that "Poseidon" will resume and has been confirmed to air in the latter half of the year. 2NE1TV is back, and it’s going to hit the airwaves world-wide!
First premiering in America on Mnet US, 2NE1TV will broadcast on 7/17 at 8PM PST.
Following the U.S. premiere, 2NE1TV’s 3rd season will officially be re-branded as “2NE1TV LIVE:WORLDWIDE“.
Mnet Korea will launch the new series on 7/19 at 6PM, and other countries will broadcast the show shortly after. Including, Thailand (TrueVision), Vietnam (YAN TV), and Cambodia (CTN). Meanwhile, tvN Asia and Channel V International will air the program in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, Myanmar and Malaysia.

Block B's official color, purple

With Block B in the middle of promotions for their mini album, "New Kids on the Block", the mastermind behind the group, Cho PD, has unveiled the rookie group's official color and lightstick through Twitter.
The lightstick includes the group's logo and the official color, purple.
Cho PD seemed pleased with the stick's appearance, but expressed frustration with the process of selecting a color. Official fan group colors have been the subject of many fan quarrels and debates, even as potential colors become scarce. "Yes, our employees were so concerned over the fandom color. I thought it was so immature and a waste of time, so I just decided on one. Sue us," Cho PD commented. Purple is also used by girl group S.E.S. He later added, "There’s no reason to be upset, and my feelings aren’t a problem either...If there are spare colors, please let me know (but this doesn’t mean I’m going to use it!). While confirming this for the past several months, what I felt was that this was ‘collectivism.’ Please take into consideration what I feel, fans."
Cho PD also revealed that Block B's mini album, once again, has gone out of stock, and more copies are being ordered to meet fan demands.

SNSD Denies “SNSD Diet Plan”

SNSD discussed their health and toned bodyline on the June 30th episode of MBC “Good Day.” They talked about the much publicized “SNSD Diet Plan” and disputed it as false report.
Yuri explained the secret behind her much publicized solid abs, saying, “I still have a long way to go. It might look more defined because I try to work out right before going up on stage. The diet plan that was made public recently was completely wrong. We’re taking a lot of nutritious, healthy food three times a day, and working out regularly.”
Yoon Ah added, “We really eat very well. I don’t know where the whole ‘SNSD Diet Plan’ came out of. We eat so well and are healthier than you think.”
Sunny was also asked about the incident where she lost consciousness before their Japanese concert. She explained, “I was in a little pain just that day, but started to feel better from the evening. I’m very sorry for it, but now I’m healthier than ever. People think we eat less because of the whole ‘SNSD Diet Plan’ but the managers get shocked at the amount we usually eat. We’re eating very well and taking a lot of rest too, so you don’t have to worry about us.”
The “SNSD Diet Plan” was first revealed earlier this year on SBS variety show “Star What Do You Eat?” According to the show, SNSD’s meal plan during concerts or important TV appearances consists of only small amounts vegetables, five pieces of broccoli, 100g of chicken breast, and 150g of brown rice.

The 2011 Sacheon World Percussion Festival will be held at Samcheonpo Daegyo Park in Sacheon for 4 days starting from August 4th. 24 percussion teams from 11 countries, including the United States, China, Japan, Brazil, Thailand, India and Vietnam will showcase great performances starting from 8PM every night. You can find out more about the festival in general here, though this is focused on last year's.
In the opening stage themed “Idol Singers and World Percussion” on August 4th, SHINee, an idol group leading the Korean Wave boom in the world, will present a fantastic performance with Cindy Blackman Santana, the world’s top female drummer and wife of rock legend Carlos Santana.
Also, the Tower Records Summer Sale event from 20th June to 31st July is being held in collaboration with SHINee as a part of their Japan debut promotions. The official poster and pictures from its making are below the cut; the full blog entry of the staff is translated here.
