Behind the music video set of T-ara’s comeback song “Roly-Poly”, snapshots of the sleeping girls have been released.

T-ara recently filmed the music video for their comeback song “Roly-Poly” on the 18th and 19th and released stills of their jacket photo. Filming for 30 straight hours without rest finally took its toll on the members as they dozed off from tiredness and fatigue.

Already known as “sleepyhead” Eunjung, the images below show the additional “sleepyheads,” including Jiyeon, Qri, and Soyeon.

Sunzoo to hold first Korea showcase

You are probably already familiar with Sunzoo, Tiger JK's international hiphop project, they will perform a show at R-16, so if you are in Seoul is a MUST to attend the event and the performances. Check the post below for infos about the show, tickets and a brief explanation on how to get there:

It is no surprise that R-16 ambassador, Tiger JK, will be performing at the R-16 B-Boy Championship finals, but no one could have expected he would bring the whole Sunzoo crew with him.

R-16 will be holding their finale on July 2nd and 3rd at Olympic Hall (Olympic Park), Seoul. On Day 1 (Saturday), Jay Park and AOM Crew will commence the first day of competition. Day 2 will feature The Sunzoo Project: Tiger JK, Yoon MiRae, DJ Jhig, Roscoe Umali, Stlyliztik Jones, and !llmind.

This will be the first time the crew will be performing their songs on stage.

Oricon recently revealed the first ranking of all artists in the top 100. Now, they've released the total sales and money made for the top 5 artists. Note, this spans from December 27th, 2010 to June 20th, 2011. It counts singles, albums, music dvds and music Blu-ray discs sold.

“I Am A Singer” to take on “1 Night 2 Days” head-on for viewer ratings

MBC recently announced that they will be broadcasting a special, 155-minute long episode of “I Am A Singer” come July 3rd.

According to MBC producers on June 22nd, MBC’s “New Recruits” will air their last episode on July 26th, but because its replacement show, “Home Dream”, will only begin broadcasting on July 10th, MBC decided to fill in the empty time slot on the 3rd with a special episode of “I Am A Singer”.

With the special episode of “I Am A Singer” to air at the same time as KBS 2TV’s hit program, “1 Night 2 Days”, many have begun to wonder which show will take the top spot in the best viewer ratings.

“I Am A Singer” previously battled it out against top show “Qualification of Men” and managed to beat them in viewership ratings.

Rumor has it that the two shows may actually end up being broadcast in the same time slot from July 10th forward, as it was reported that the producers of “I Am A Singer” are prepared to adjust the time slot for the show according to how the viewer ratings turn out for the episode on July 3rd.

Jay Park to hold first fan meet + concert in Tokyo!

Park Jaebeom – better known as Jay Park to his fans – has announced his first ever fan meeting and concert for Jaywalkers in Tokyo!

The event titled, “Park Jaebeom Fan Meeting & Concert 2011” will officially be held on July 8th at Nakano Sun Plaza. It opens to the public at 6:00 PM JST and tickets are 11,000 yen (around $136 USD) each and are available in limited quantities. More details can be found here .

The fan meeting was originally scheduled for a date earlier this year, but was postponed in light of the Tohoku earthquake.

SECRET can’t get back their cell phones until they win #1 in Japan

 Earlier, the ladies of SECRET revealed that they still lacked cell phones three years into their career. Although it was explained that they were used to it and didn’t feel the need for one, the girls seem to feel the pinch a bit, as they vocalized their slight frustration while on KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”

SECRET said that the reason they had a strong friendship was because they didn’t have cellphones. “When you look at other teams, they’re usually on their phone or playing games and surfing the web on it when they’re re-locating or in waiting rooms. Since we don’t have cell phones, we only have each other for entertainment, so we become closer like that.”

When asked whether they got rid of their cell phones themselves, they said, “No, it was in our contracts when we signed on.”

They continued, “We were originally supposed to get our cell phones back in January of 2012, but they changed their word again. Now we won’t get it back until we win #1 in Japan.”

The girls were then asked, “If, in the future, you set up your own label and produced your own girl group, would you let them have cell phones?” With a laugh, they replied, “No. We’d never allow it!”

Oktroll strikes again, tricks Heechul into showing interest in Sohee

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul shows interest in Wonder Girl’s Sohee, as he was caught by a trap set by 2PM’s Taecyeon.

On the June 23rd broadcast of SBS’s radio program, “Kim Heechul’s Young Street“, Taecyeon bragged, “Did you know that our song features Sohee?”, provoking Heechul’s curiosity.

Heechul then stated he needed to immediately hear the song, “Hands Up“, as he was curious about her lyrics. Because Taecyeon was able to get a reaction like that out of Heechul, the listeners’ overall reaction was that “Taecyeon is smart.”

Shortly after, the “Young Street” writers created a picture of them together and put it on the “Young Street” homepage, as if Heechul’s interest in Sohee was official.

For the first time ever, After School will be promoting two separate unit groups at the same time!

On June 24th, Pledis Entertainment revealed, “For After School’s fourth single, which is currently scheduled for release in mid-July, the girls will be splitting into two units and will be making a comeback on the same exact date.”

They continued, “Not only will they have a sexy and powerful image concept, but also another concept that aims to contrast against that to bring out a variety of different images through this promotion cycle.”

The members for each unit group and style concept have yet to be revealed.

Police confirm that motorcyclist Hyun died from his collision with Daesung

On June 24th, the Seoul, Youngdeungpo police revealed, “Hyun, the deceased motorcyclist involved in Daesung’s car accident, died from Daesung’s collision.  As a result, the police will be making a dispatch to charge him without detention.”

On this day, the Youngdeungpo police held a press conference revealing their investigations and confirmed that there was only a 132-second window between the first accident and the collision with Daesung’s car.  They revealed, “There was only about two minutes between his motorcycle accident and Daesung’s accident, so we have determined that Hyun did not die in that time frame.  There were not a lot of cars on the road and the speed limit was 60 km/h, but we discovered through the taxi’s video that he was speeding at 70 to 80 km/h.”

When asked to confirm whether there was a previous hit-and-run accident, police stated, “It has nothing to do with the case. There weren’t a lot of cars on the road at the time, and his alcohol level was 0.186.  It has nothing to do with a hit-and-run.”

With confirmation that Hyun was killed by Daesung’s car, what Daesung will be charged for is currently unknown. The law states that he could be jailed for under five years, or pay a penalty of $20,000 USD.

On the 23rd, Kim Hyun-joong made an appearance in KBS 2TV "Happy Together 3" and revealed an experience of being hit on by a gay man when Boyfriend member Yeong Min talked about his.

Kim Hyun-joong said, "I was walking down an alleyway when a man asked 'do you have a lover?' So I said yes and he looked disappointed. Then again, another man came up to me and asked 'hey baby do you have a lover?' so I got angry and asked 'why am I your baby'".

T-ara's "RolyPoly" teaser being revealed three days early due to HOT demand!

Girl group T-ara's teaser for their title track off their new mini-album will be released on the 24th.

T-ara's agency, Core Contents Media, revealed it will be released to the public at 14:45 KST through Melon. T-ara's 'Roly Poly' music video teaser will be 50 seconds long, and will capture the 70's and 80's disco era. The music video director is the famous CF director, Cha Euntaek.

T-ara's agency said the teaser was originally supposed to be released on June 27th, but because of fans request it will come out three days earlier.

Meanwhile, T-ara will comeback on July 1st with 'Roly Poly' which will appeal to a wider range of audiences. They are also preparing for advancement into Japan.

Baby found dead in subway locker

A single mom, who discarded her newborn baby in a subway locker, is under police investigation, Yonhap News has reported.

The woman, surnamed Kim, 20, said that four days after she gave birth alone in a motel room, she found her son suffocated to death, face down in a blanket.

She apparently then put the dead body in her carrier filled with her clothes, before placing it in the subway locker of Shinpung station.

A popular children’s cartoon jointly produced by the two Koreas is to be banned by the U.S. government.

The iconic penguin Pororo will be banned as the North Korea-based animation company Samchunlee participated in the project.

The U.S. government announced on Monday that not only would goods made in the North be banned for import, but also other products involving North Korean input.

Pororo, a show about a penguin and his animal friends, has been exported to 110 different countries and has drawn global attention. In Korea, it is often referred to as “the president of children.”

The consequences of the U.S.’s move are likely to spread throughout the South, as products from Gaeseong Industrial Complex are included on the banned list.

The complex is north of the inter-Korea border and home to a large number of South Korean factories.
