Ultimate Global Agency, United Asia Management To Launch

Imagine all of your favorite top stars -- TVXQ, Kim Hyun-joong, Soo-ae, Super Junior, Park Jin-young, etc. -- in one place. How exciting would that be? Well, imagine no further because this is indeed happening on June 24th at 7:30 PM at the Banyan Tree Club & Spa in Jangchoong-dong, Seoul.

This event celebrates the launch of a grand-scale collaboration agency, United Asia Management (UAM), which will tie together six of the top and biggest entertainment agencies here in Korea: KEYEAST, AM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and Star J.

June 24th will consist of a press conference and a congratulatory party. Some of the special star appearances will be Kim Nam-gil, Choi Gang-hee, Kim Soo-hyun, 2PM, Ahn Sung-gi, Cha Seung-won, and Jung Joon-ho. Expected to attend as audience members will be stars Gwak Gyeong-taek, Kim Ji-woon, Kim Sung-soo, and Yoon Seok-ho.

UAM said that the agency was formed to team up the country's biggest artists and related entertainment officials. It will support the activities of Korea's stars, especially k-pop stars to further spread the Hallyu wave abroad.

Means of it: Monopoly.

I think this UAM is only for foreign stuff and companies will remain as rivals inside Korea and thus no monopoly (UAM is pretty small compared to big international companies).

I'm not talking about the local market, and yes, I know it's small compared to internacional companies, but how are the small korean companies going to compete against UAM internationally? That's what I was trying to say. Anyway I might be wrong.

Honestly I don't see much of good coming out of this as UAM is still pretty small player compared to big international entertainment companies. At least I hope they won't be launching artists outside Asian market under this UAM as all of the companies are pretty clueless on those markets. Also I have really hard time imagining how for instance SM and YG could get along considering how one outfit for an YG artist could probably pay a whole music video for a SM artist.

LOL. This is true. Are they planning to pool their moneys together and share or something? Cuz if that's the case I see lots of issues rising.

uh, doesn't the dream concert bring popular artists together in one place?

but it's really unclear why all these companies need to collaborate to further the hallyu. cause the government is already doing something about it. or are these companies going to control the status quo in kpop?

Sounds like a waste of time and money. Don't see why foreigh markets would want you more if you come at them rollin' 500 deep.
Unless having access to Korean "Top Stars" thru one agency/management is a good thing

Whatever, idgi

I smell a flop in the making.
Personally, I feel that if you want your artist to break into the Western market (idk why though), then you'd stand more of a chance joining a well established WESTERN market like universal, sony or something.

When I first heard about this, I was actually surprised YG agreed to this. What happened to being a ~trend setter?~

Ah well, I'll just sit back and watch.

well...i don't know about this...
other than the fact that this might give me the YG-SM collab i've so desperately been wanting (it'll b awesome/awesomely hilarious to see these 2 very different companies trying and meshing their styles)...i don't really see what they plan on achieving as such.....
