Korean girl group 2NE1 have succeeded once again in taking over various online real-time music charts with their new song, according to the respective websites on Friday.

Their latest song "The Coolest", which was released yesterday midnight, made its debut at the No. 1 spot on the online music charts of Cyworld, Daum, Naver, MelOn, Soribada, Mnet, Bugs, Dosirak and Monkey 3 today.

"The Coolest" is the third track from their upcoming mini-album set to go on sale on July 21. The new release will include their previous singles "Don't Cry" and "Lonely", which also triumphed in first place on the aforementioned music charts, as well as two or three more new songs.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment had announced that the release date for the music video of  "The Coolest", originally set to be revealed today, has been delayed by a couple of days due to its scale.

2NE1, formed of members Park Bom, CL, Sandara Park and Minzy, is known as one of the most popular girl groups since making their debut in May 2009. The girls have been busy preparing to give their first time performance of  "The Coolest" on SBS' music program "Inkigayo" this weekend.

On June 24th, Rania’s leader Saem was rushed to the hospital after being dropped mid-air during a recording for KBS’s ‘Music Bank‘.

For “Masquerade“, the girls had prepared a special performance that involved elevating the girls in the air with the use of wires. Unfortunately, Saem’s wire malfunctioned, dropping her to the floor.

A representative on the scene revealed, “Saem was rehearsing for ‘Masquerade’ with the other members when her wire pin unraveled while she was 2m in the air. She fell to the floor and injured her ankle. 119 was called immediately, and she was rushed out for transportation to Seoul St.Mary’s Hospital.”

A representative of DR Music said, “We are currently on our way to the hospital. We don’t believe that Saem was injured badly.”

=======
UPDATE
=======

Representatives of DR Music updated information through E Daily by revealing, “The story was a bit of an exaggeration. She did not fall from mid-air because her wire malfunctioned. Her wire took her to the floor a bit earlier than the promised timing, so she wasn’t able to find her balance as she landed.”

They continued, “Saem was really surprised at the sudden landing so she was taken to the hospital, but examinations showed that she just has slight bruising around her ankle and hip area. She does not have any further injuries. Her doctor said that she will have no problems standing on stage for ‘Music Bank’.”

DR Music concluded, “It was an emergency situation at the time so we weren’t able to take every call, which is why the situation was exaggerated. We would like to apologize for causing you concern. We promise to repay it with a good stage.”

SECRET’s “Starlight Moonlight” concept is most definitely a sweet, feminine one that calls for a skinnier figure than most concepts. Naturally, and like other girl groups, the ladies are undergoing strict dieting, with the only exception being Sunday, where they’re allowed to eat whatever they wish.

They revealed, “On Sunday afternoon, we conclude a week’s worth of music programs after SBS’s ‘Inkigayo.’ After dieting all week long, we’re allowed to eat whatever we want for dinner on Sunday night, and then we starve again. Our manager makes sure that there are sandwiches before we get on the ‘Inkigayo’ stage. The minute we get off stage, we have a sandwich in our mouths.

So how did they achieve their healthy, slim figures? Check it out below!

Citing that the five-member group KARA broke their contract by damaging the company’s brand image by disrupting society” (loooooooooooooool), clothing brand ASK revealed on the 24th that they had decided to seek 445 million won (around $400,000 USD) in damages from KARA’s parent company, DSP Media.

“The reason why we seek celebrity endorsements is to give off a positive image,” said in a statement by Real Company, the parent company behind ASK. Although KARA was scheduled to have six rounds of photo shoots with the company, they were only able to shoot only once because of the groups lawsuit against DSP Media.

“We found ourselves as a brand using a divided girl group as our endorsement models,” Real Company stated. Continuing they stated, “We suffered a lot of damage since it was too late to start searching for another model.”

ASK had struck a deal valued at about 380 million won (around $360,000 USD) in June last year, but was forced to cancel it this April amid the controversy surrounding KARA’s lawsuit.

Think of the societal costs, everyone!!! The lack of Hara/Cole pairing is causing kids to jump off roof tops T__T
Quick conversion: this is ~$40k USD.
In all seriousness this was very expected and just standard business operations - contract gets breached, prepare the lawyers, plus the amount isn't too extravagant (once you add in the lawyer fees, brand name damage costs, blah blah etc. etc.).

Super angry that we could have had five more sets of sexy sexy sexy Kara photoshoots though, those bastards >:(

Earlier, we reported that B2ST would provide the image song for the Japanese-U.S. collaborative film, “Shanghai“.

A brief cut of the song was used towards the end of the trailer, which was released today. The Japanese remake of the song was re-arranged into a soothing ballad that’s bursting at the seams with emotion and power. Although some were unsure as to how “Fiction” would fit with the atmosphere of a high-tension film, the boys managed to pull it off flawlessly.

“Fiction” will be used in not only the movie teaser, but in the CF as well; it will also be included in their first Japanese album, “SO BEAST“, scheduled for release on August 10th.

Check it out below (begins around the 1:30 mark)!

Singer Hwanhee surprised singer/fellow Fly to the Sky member Brian by revealing Brian’s relationship with women.

During a recent recording of KBS 2TV’s ‘Declaration of Freedom Saturday – Secret‘, Hwanhee made a surprise appearance through the VCR. During his appearance, Hwanhee asked Brian about his relationship with a specific woman, which Hwanhee had been curious about since their Fly to the Sky days.

Hwanhee stated that Brian had a girl he wanted to marry while they were working on their last album together, but after the team took a break, the subject never came up again. He then asked Brian what happened to that relationship, surprising and embarrassing the singer.

In addition, Hwanhee also revealed that Brian used to brag that he was going to debut as an actor in Hollywood, but as with Brian’s relationship, the subject never came up again. He asked Brian to reveal the truth about his plans to advance into Hollywood.

Although Brian was embarrassed, he answered both of Hwanhee’s questions truthfully. You can watch this episode of ‘Secret’ on June 25th.

It seems like After School’s UEE was quite a hearty eater as a child.

On June 24th, the singer guested on SBS’s ‘Dalgona‘ alongside former baseball player, Yang Jun Hyuk, and had the opportunity to visit her hometown with the studio audience.

On the broadcast, UEE’s older sister, Kim Yoo Na, stated, “UEE over ate quite a bit. Usually, UEE would look for kimchi and pork belly as soon as she woke up. She was a part of the swimming department when she was in school, and she also ate a lot after practice. Two hamburgers were a given, and she even had dukbokgi (rice cakes) and ice cream for dessert.

She continued, “The reason why UEE’s body is so fit is because she ate and exercised a lot as a child.” To this, UEE added, “I burned so many calories back then that I was able to get away with eating so much and not gain any weight.

Meanwhile, the MCs jokingly asked, “Is UEE the female Kang Ho Dong?” which made the audience burst into laughter.

T-ara's new retro song "RolyPoly" and it's music video will be in the form of a mini-drama.

On the 25th, Core Contents Media revealed that, "We took a concept of a girls' high school from the olden days, and with the director Cha Euntaek, have made it into a 10-minute music video mini-drama."

The music video is about the girls' curiosity about changing from children to adults and wanting to experience the world that adults experience.

The "young idol" T-ara members Eunjung, Jiyeon, and Hyomin were able to showcase their acting and joined by the stars from back in the day, Jeon Youngrok and Im Yejin to create a realistic setting. T-ara is planning on making parents feel nostalgic about their schooldays while also approaching younger audiences with a fresh music sound.

T-ara's agency also said, "More information on the music video and 'RolyPoly' will be released later, please show a lot of interest to the mini-drama."

"RolyPoly" was done by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyusung and was inspired by the discos done in the 1980s. The sound from the disco era was mixed with modern musical elements for the track.

Meanwhile, T-ara revealed their teaser for "RolyPoly" on the 24th and will reveal the music video on the 29th through Melon. T-ara will make their comeback on July 1st.
