SNSD’s ‘black pearl’ Yuri succeeded in her diet plans and recently revealed her new svelte form.

Several pictures and fancams capturing Yuri’s significant weight loss have been floating around on an online community site, worrying her fans.

Even last year, Yuri still had her signature glamorous body and chubby cheeks.

However, in recent sightings, Yuri was seen with a prominent V-line and virtually no fat on her cheeks. Her drastic transformation has shocked some fans, as some thought it was for the better while others felt that it was for the worse.

Netizens said, “I didn’t know you lost weight but you seemed to have lost a lot after seeing your old photos”, “You were pretty before and now you’re even prettier”, and “How did you lose all that weight?”

JYJ’s Kim Junsu has already been recognized countless times as the most vocally talented idol in the industry. He has made his mark, not only during Kpop performances, but also through musicals, selling out tens of thousands of tickets, winning the Best Newcomer Award at both The Musical Awards and The Korean Musical Awards and being praised as talented enough to perform in Broadway. He is an outstanding individual whose talent would be wasted to be considered a mere idol who sings hair-raising lyrics such as “I want to be your bed for one day.”

I will not mention the TVXQ split that everyone knows about. Due to it, JYJ’s TV appearances have become a rare sight. Though JYJ member Park Yoochun is appearing in a drama, his work is with an outsourcing company and the recent controversy of his Come To Play and On A Roll appearance cancellations frustrate even those who are not fans, such as myself.

Lee Dong-wook (Partner) isn’t even out of the army yet, and already he’s got a new drama lined up: Scent of a Woman, an SBS weekend series that will star Kim Sun-ah (City Hall) as his leading lady.

The plot: The main character is an unmarried 30-something woman named Lee Yeon-jae (spinster seems so passé, but it’s the term used to describe her) who works as a minor clerk and suffers life’s indignities with fortitude. When she receives word that she only has six more months to live, she decides to live the rest of her life happily, turning in her resignation and leaving for a vacation of luxury. Lee Dong-wook plays Kang Ji-wook, who falls in love with her.

Interestingly, most of the 20 episodes will be filmed in Australia. Lee enlisted in August 2009; his planned military discharge date is June 20, while Scent of a Woman is set for a July 16 premiere. Eep! That gives him almost no resting time before he gets right back to work — he’ll join the filming team right away and will fly from Korea to Australia the day after his release.

Kwon Sohyun revealed selcas with cute expressions. On May 13th, Sohyun uploaded a picture with various facial expressions on her twitter along with the words "4 bemused expressions!!!"

Inside the picture, Sohyun had light brown bobbed hair with a wavy style. Although she referred to them as "bemused," thousands of her fans are calling them cute expressions.

Lee Seunggi's oustanding command of Japanese, as well as the extent of his advance into Japan, has come into the spotlight. He showed off his proficiency of the language on a episode of Fuji TV's "Hoko Tate" on May 10th. The MC and guests present were surprised, commenting, " His ability is incredible."

"Hoko Tate," in Japanese, means "spear and shield." It is an entertainment program whose premise consists of the guests being split into two teams who then, based on their logic, justify a winner out of two objects pitted against each other -- ergo the "spear" and the "shield." This naturally means that filming is difficult for someone who is less than good at the language.

After 2NE1 scored an instant ‘all-kill’ on online music charts with the release of their newest track, “Lonely”, many of their fans began to wonder whether they would be able to watch the group perform their soothing ballad track live on music and public music show programs, despite CEO Yang Hyun Suk stating they would not be performing on public TV programs.

However, it has been re-confirmed by Yang Hyun Suk himself that he will remain true to his word – 2NE1 will not be standing on stage to undergo active promotions for the song.

As a replacement, however, 2NE1 are set to recreate and perform modified versions of the song through YG’s online show, “YG ON AIR“.

Yang Hyun Suk stated, “This is my own personal opinion, but it’s a bit sad that for the past ten years, talented singers have been restricted to the exact same stage, exact same camera angles, and exact same format to perform their songs. This method doesn’t allow for each of the artists to fully express their true talents and music.”

“A solution to this problem lies behind the popularity of shows like ‘I Am a Singer‘. In contrast to popular music programs, ‘I Am a Singer’ utilizes unique stages and top-class sound systems, which make not only singers, but also fans, to focus solely on the music, and thus making it a more enjoyable show to watch.”

He continued, “Because of these reasons, 2NE1 will not be standing on stage of music programs for their song ‘Lonely’, just like how Park Bom didn’t perform ‘Don’t Cry‘. Instead, 2NE1 will be revealing a different version of ‘Lonely’ every Friday night on ‘YG ON AIR’.”

“Through ‘YG ON AIR’, 2NE1 will be doing performances in whatever style they like it to be, made to their hearts’ content. Fans who come to watch ‘YG ON AIR’ for 2NE1’s performances will surely be able to focus purely on the group’s music.”

The CEO concluded, “2NE1 will need to perform title tracks on music programs, but we’re only thinking of one performance a week for the time being.”

Based upon sheer observation, I would have to vouch for this statistic. Koreans are not afraid to flaunt a little flesh and pants seem to be an optional accessory for most post-adolescent K-girls. Even K-boys have very little body fat, which can leave the average western woman feeling like a mastodon in comparison. So what’s the K-secret to a lifetime of physical perfection?

Genetics? Diet? Exercise? All of the above?
