I think Seventeen and GOT7 are pretty on par regarding album sales, but since GOT7 released one album more than Seventeen this year, they sold more.

svt did that with just one mini album and a cheap repackage. had they had two proper comebacks, they'd be the 4th best-selling group but they let got7 have that spot this year. generous kings.

happy for twice and fromis_9!! fromis_9's sales keep improving with every release and love bomb even charted on melon (for an hour or so). they're gonna be a top group in no time, mark my words.

BTS is a wall. I am actually SHOCKED at EXO's numbers? Didn't that shit come out in November? Damn, EXO-Ls are dedicated, if you combine the Vivace number it's even bigger. Damn. Like two months of sales, jfc. Good for Nuest W, they must be shook given how their careers went before this. GOT7 also sells way more than I thought, why do people paint them as flops in Korea? They are selling better than most groups.

Sad that GGs sell so low in comparison, they work so hard too smh. IZ*ONE sold so much for a rookie group omg.

I think GOT7 has their i-fandom to thank for with regards to album sales. they're not really that known to general public. for k-pop listeners they've probably heard of them and know some of their songs, but that's about it I think?

they still make good money. this also doesn't include concert revenue, japan promos, appearance fees and their own variety stuff. this is just part of the picture and I think they're fine I hope they renew too, especially with solji back!

EDIT: oh and they only did two singles this year so I can see why the numbers are lower than the groups who put out minis or full albums.

their mass orders are plentiful and huge tbh. I've participated in both GOT7 and SNSD album orders, and I think it says quite a lot when I find it easier to order for GOT7 as there are so many options available.

Weki Meki have always had surprisingly good physical sales for how their songs chart, and they only ever do a max of two album versions. I used to think that was the IOI influence but gugudan chart better while selling less. It's a mystery to me but I'm not complaining! I hope 2019 is a good year for them!
