On December 1, IOK Company shared, “After in-depth discussions with ELRIS’s original agency Hunus Entertainment about the future direction and growth potential of the group, we decided to transfer the management of ELRIS to IOK Company.”

They added, “We are very happy to be working with ELRIS. In the future, we will generously support ELRIS so that they can grow further as an artist by greeting fans through various activities.” ELRIS is the first K-pop girl group of IOK Company.

ELRIS officially debuted in June 2017, but they added two new members in 2020. The members are Sohee, Hyeseong, Yukyung, Karin, Bella, EJ, and Chaejeong.

IOK Company is home to many celebrities like Go Hyun Jung, Jo In Sung, Kim Ha Neul, Shin Hye Sun, and B.I., who is also one of the executive directors of the agency.

Debut of new Thai K-pop star stirs debate due to her father's political background

K-pop record label Grandline Group (GLG) has been causing a stir after unveiling a Thai member of its soon-to-debut girl group H1-KEY, with numerous Thai K-pop fans demanding her removal due to her father's political background.

Critics say on Twitter that member Sitala's father Tua Saranyu ― a well-known actor and filmmaker ― is a royalist who has been supporting the nation's military dictatorship and produced a propaganda movie for it. In 2014, the Royal Thai Armed Forces seized power in the Southeast Asian country after staging a coup against the civilian government, causing political instability. This developed into a 2020 protest movement to reform the Thai monarchy.

What added fuel to the fire was Sitala's latest remarks about her father. In her self-profile released Tuesday, she said he was her "role model," prompting many to accuse her of supporting the military dictatorship.

Rookie girl group IVE eyes becoming 'First XI' in K-pop world

In the realm of football, the term "First XI" often refers to a team of 11 players picked from those with the most outstanding performances. Hence, by naming its debut track, "ELEVEN," K-pop rookie IVE overtly showed its ambition to become game changers in the K-pop scene, which is already brimming with gifted stars.

"As the title of our song implies, our members are determined to show the best performances possible," member Gaeul said during IVE's first online press conference Wednesday, which was held a few hours before the release of "ELEVEN."

"We want to make a splash in everything from music to performance, so that we can prove ourselves to people. In fact, I believe IVE does not lag behind any other acts in terms of musical prowess."
