Jang Hyun-seung to enlist this month

Jang Hyun-seung, a former member of K-pop boy band Beast, will enlist in the military later this month, his management agency said Thursday.
The 29-year-old original Beast member, who left the group in 2016, will enter military boot camp on July 24 to begin his mandatory 21-month military service, according to Cube Entertainment.
"The exact place of enlistment will not be disclosed as Jang Hyun-seung wants it to be a quiet event," the agency said. Jang will spend five weeks in the boot camp before being assigned to an Army unit.
Jang debuted in 2009 in the original line-up of Beast before leaving the group in April 4 to launch a solo album and perform in the project duo Trouble Maker with Hyuna. In July last year, he released solo single "Home" after renewing his contract with Cube.

"Love Scenario" has remained among the top 20 most-sung songs in noraebang, or Korean karaoke, since January, when the song was released. The music video has had over 100 million views on YouTube.

After SBS' reality-travel show "Law of Jungle" explored the Antarctic, one of the harshest living environments on earth, in April, cable channel tvN is taking its cast members to an even more extreme, unknown territory -- Mars.
Not the real red planet, of course, where Matt Damon's character set foot in the 2015 hit movie "The Martian," inspiring many aspiring astronauts and space exploration fans.
The reality show "Galileo: Awakened Universe" sent a team of Korean celebrities -- headed by comedian Kim Byung-man, who is well-known for his survival skills as demonstrated in the SBS show -- to the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah.

Soyou talks life after Sistar

On the recent episode of tvN’s “Life Bar,” Soyou, Yoon Do-Hyun, Ha Hyun-Woo, and Lee Hong-Ki appeared as special guests. During the episode, Soyou shared that she had thought the disbandment of SISTAR had put an end to her singing career. The singer said, “because celebrities are freelancers, the income is not stable. When a singer releases an album, they could end up losing money. When SISTAR disbanded, I thought that was the end of my singing career.”
Soyou further explained that the reason why she tends to save more than she spends is because of the unstable income. She said, “I have bought things from luxury brands, but the happiness lasted not even a week. I don’t spend any money on luxurious items anymore because I learned that the joy doesn’t last forever.”
She also commented that she is more of an introvert than people think she is. Soyou said, “in reality, I’m very introverted. I need fun in my life. After we disbanded, everything I do is boring because I’m alone. I want to sing choreographed songs.”

BigHit Entertainment has responded to concerns about more death threats made against BTS member Jimin.
Recently, an Instagram user made posts including a photo of a gun and the statement that they plan to shoot Jimin at BTS’s concert in Los Angeles on September 5. The concert is part of the group’s “Love Yourself” world tour.
When asked about the threats by Newsen on July 12, BigHit Entertainment stated that the agency is aware of them.
